I had my first ever evil laugh.
Damn it felt good.

I did LIGHTS OUT...but it ended with a twist.
Image IPB

Poor Jeera I summoned his dead sister to beat the ever loving crap out of him, and she did just that since he really never hurt her with that dagger and she beat him to death.

I did not go BWAHAHAHAA it was more like heheheheehah under my breath. So an evil chuckle but it still stands really.

While it was kind of evil she really is a murderer and so is her brother.

Your character is at the very least complicit to their crime.

And? The number of "crimes" you commit in any one PT is probably a lot higher than any NPC in the game.

Also I am the PC so I can get away with it.

Has anyone got close to exploring all of Skyrim?

Hard to say since I don't know how many dungeons/areas there are. My last character did quite a lot. I believe the stat screen says he cleared 173 dungeons. Question: how close is that to All?

Idk if this has been mentioned, but the wiki (http://elderscrolls....er_Scrolls_Wiki) has been....nerfed somehow.

@Yrkoon and Mike Smith,

No clue. My map is virutally white with icons, and I've recently decided to attempt to find all Word Walls by visiting the Grey Beards and Arngier repeatedly. Each time I ask, they seem to send me to yet another area I hadn't yet found and was just out of sight in areas I've traversed over innumerable times.

I'm not home at present, but will check my 'dungeons cleared' number when I get back.

This game is huge.

You know what I dislike greatly, bordering on hatred?

Nchuand-Zel's defenses. I reactivate them and now I've got to fight them as I try to leave. That just seems counter-productive. And completely idiotic.

You'd think Bethesda would've made it so that the re-activated Dwemer machina in this particular ruin wouldn't fight the Dragonborn.

I mean... really. If these things are going to protect Markarth's underside, they'd probably do a much better job of that if they weren't in bits and pieces.

Not to mention I'm overencumbered!

I noticed that too. I guess they're protesting the SOPA issue since the thing links to a petition against SOPA.

Just did this one recently.  Checked the quest log prior to flipping the switch because something felt wrong.  It casually says that reactivating the defenses would help greatly in defeating the Falmer threat and securing Markarth.  I say OK, and of course, playing the good Joe, I flip the switch, activate the defenses and depart through the nearest doorway. What that pesky questlog didn't say was that evidently I was every bit as much a threat as those stupid Falmer.  So I ended up reluctantly smashing a centurion and all other guardians to pieces.  Yeah, that was certainly worth the effort of bringing Nchuand-Zel back to life, and of course, I'm not sure how this ingenious security plan will be thinning the Falmer out ...say...oh...later on that afternoon or tomorrow. Image IPB Thought the mission was incredibily stupid as well, probably just an oversight, but then again, maybe not.

Overencumbered doesn't even begin to describe Nchuand-Zel.  I admit it, I made six trips in with Mjoll to pick up our stash drops, and both of us were stripped down to virtually nothing.  Six trips to haul out the loot!  I also admit freely to being a Dwemer fan boy though, and simply must have it all.

Actually I did that on my low level. (Like.....10 or something) Spellsword and got my ass kicked the entire way there, but once you flip the switch, if you run out the door you come out of via, jumping off the pipes, you can take a hard left and end up leaving without having any actual conflict with the defenses since the left route is a one way shortcut right back to the big spider.

I reactivated them, but didn't encounter anything but one sphere fighting a Falmer on the bridge headed out of the ruin.  Since they were occupied, I could leave without engaging any of the defenses at all.  Maybe there's an exit you didn't find?  (edit- I see someone already suggested this)

I don't load myself down in Dwemer ruins too much.  A few pieces of metal from there gives a crapton of dwarven ingots, and since I only use it for upgrading to sell I don't need much.

From the Wikia:

Enchanting items crafted to improve the Smithing skill is a cost effective way to level both even if all base materials are purchased

[*]The Transmute spell can be combined with the above to turn iron into gold, smith the gold into rings, enchant the rings, and then sell. Raises Alteration, Smithing, Speech and Enchanting.

[*]Some enchantments will improve the selling price of the base item more than others. In order of descending value:

  • Weapons: Banish, Paralyze, Absorb Health, Stamina Damage
  • Chest: Destruction, Healing Rate, Conjuration, Smithing
  • Head: Archery, Destruction, Conjuration, Restoration
  • Hands/Feet: Sneak, Carry Weight, One-Hand, Two-Hand
  • Jewelry: Sneak, Carry Weight, Barter, One-Hand, Two-Hand
  • Shield: Fortify Block

Thank you very much! I somehow never noticed how expensive the Banish enchantment is. And I even had it learned . Now crafting dual-enchanted Paralyzing Daggers of Banishing is finally getting me some good money (like 700+ per, even with Petty Soulgems). Finally earning some good gold, but now it's more of a problem that the shops have so little gold to spend. Guess I'll do some Thieves Guild quests after all. [*]
[*]In general Skyrim sure has some great money sinks...

You know all that scrap dwarven metal you leave lying around?  Loot in and then smelt it into Dwaren metal ingots.  Either just sell it or make dwarven daggers instead of iron daggers...

Thanks. I guess this advice would be really helpfull for a new low-level character.

But in general the dwarven stuff tends to have a horrible value/weight ratio. Because of this, I never bother dragging it back to town. I just collect soul gems from automatons and whatever (valuable) treasure I can find.

anyone happen to know where I can find Hrolfdir's shield? Since the wiki is down I can't look it up there, and I have the quest set up as the one I want to follow but I don't have a map location to go to.

At Blindcliff Bastion . It`s near Markath, between The Lover Stone and Karthwasten . A Hagraven is locked in a cage and asks you to kill an other Hagraven . She`s in the same room as Hrolfdir's shield so you can do both quests at the same time .

Is this the Hagraven one may gain as a companion?

That quest is actually radiant, so the shield could pop up in any dungeon in the Reach.

That's one quest I still haven't done yet. I love finding peeps locked up in cages that you can rescue. Especially the vampires in one of the mage's college quests that say, "out of the way, meat!". However...it's not a good idea to let werewolves out.

I just finished that quest last night, but could not find a way to release the vamp Fledgling from his cage. As for the other vampires, I released all of them and the imprisoned mage after finding the books in question.

May the best monsters win....

^ I just did that quest again a couple of days ago, but had slightly different results than I did in my first playthrough. When I let the vampires out, they went and attacked the mages in the next room, and they all died. They actually all lived through it the first time around. So, being the good samaritan that I am, I reloaded, killed all the mages, then released them so they'd have a fighting chance at surviving. Silly, I know.

I had already killed the mages, too; much fairer fight....

And I discovered that Frost Golems vs partial Restoration mage = increased Light Armor skill. And a crazed mammoth (was already hurt, and objected to my Healing Hands-on approach) makes for some good training for Destruction Novice spells, too.

But the different playthrough experience for me happened in getting there. My Dragonborn Archer/ Mage was waiting for dusk to increase his stealth, and noticed that there were also two other hostiles in the immediate vicinity: a wandering Giant, and a Dragon. So I added a few Thrown Voiced insults to get all of them together in one small ruined Keep, and then added another Dragon Soul to the pot at the conclusion for good measure.

Gotta love expressive freedom! Image IPB
