Ha, consuming lives is something Skyrim does exceptionally well.

OOI, it seems unlikely it would be, but is it possible to adjust quality settings on the 360 version?

Thank you!  The only mods I'm using are No More Blocky Faces (which tbh I don't see any difference from but whatever) and one that adds some human hairstyles for orcs.  The noses and mouths are hard because they are just supposed to look like pig snouts and there's no getting around it.  You can improve the sneer slightly with the Mouth Forward slider- to bring the mouth back a bit.

Fortunately the females have some mouth shapes that don't have long fangs.  I plan this character for Farkas and even though he's a werewolf, kissing should not be a hazardous activity.  lol

I recommend bringing the weight slider down to the thin side.  The body models give the orcs bow arms and big hands.  That doesn't change even if they're thin, but on the bulkier ones I made it was even more noticeable.

I can't use any mods, so I'll probably have to spend some time on it, but I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the advice; it will come in handy!

I don't know what it is about Farkas, but I really like that guy. I keep thinking I'll marry off one of my characters to him, but haven't done it yet.

You know, in every playthrough, when I get to Largashbur, outside of Riften (where the Giants are attacking the stronghold), I can never get there in time to save any of the Orcs. I still have not gotten to meet Ugor, who I understand is a potential follower. She's always dead.

If you had a newer 360, you could adjust your graphics settings. We connect ours with HDMI, and have them set to 1080p. The older 360s didn't support HDMI, nor did they even come with wifi. I can't tell you how much I hated dealing with the stupid Pelican access point we were using for internet access.

GMags, it sounds like you've done what you can, so you may just have to be patient with texture loading. Honestly, this is the least buggy I've ever seen a Bethesda game be on console. Oblivion and Fallout 3 were heinous (more so on PS3, I thought).

Sneaky chick, eh? Is she a thief, or an assassin? Which race did you end up rolling?

I've never found that stronghold or seen that event.  Image IPB  That's sad.  I love the orc NPCs.

Oh, I was also busy posting about Skyrim on my tumblr yesterday.  Mostly fangirling about Ulfric.  Image IPB

I love Orcs, too. Ghorbash the Iron Hand was my follower for a rather large portion of my first playthrough, and I thought he was wonderful. I kept him suited up in Ebony Armor (I didn't realize that he was better suited to light), and he looked really cute running around in it.

He shrugged a lot, for no apparent reason. I'd look over, and he was just...shrugging. Do any of the other followers do that?

I rolled a pure Orc warrior myself lately. No more magic, no more sneaking, just plain old smash 'n bash. Playing her on and off. I'm mostly waiting for DLCs at the moment.

I wasn't a huge fan or archery to begin with, but I'm totally loving it now. It's become part of my skill set for any character I build. I haven't used daggers at all, so I couldn't answer that.

Glad you're enjoying it! You should try out the Dark Brotherhood. Image IPB

You should really use at least the FXAA Injector if you don't want to use high texture mods. It makes the game look so much better, I can't return to vanilla anymore.

I am not sure if it is a good idea to use a dagger as the main weapon from the start. I see it more as a handy tool once you got sneak high enough to get 15 times damage for a backstab. With the Dark Brotherhood armor you can double that. So you can get some serious damage with a dagger. ;)

I've loaded a few texture mods and I can't notice a bit of difference.  Maybe it's our monitor or my eyes or something.

I was mostly happy with vanilla textures, but Windhelm looks very bad in my opinion, that's what made me decide to use HD texture pack. Otherwise, the vanilla graphics are really really good for such a huge game. Maybe not the same graphical leap that was between Morrowind and Oblivion, but a leap forward still. Especially in art design.

I was glad they did the graphics as they did, in reality, you want to keep it accessible to a variety of people on PC, and it is a definite improvement despite what some people would have you believe. As for mods...haven't got the time atm to start screwing with them, although I've catalogued a few that interest me.

Agreed. I firt ran Skyrim on a 2 year laptop, and was able to reach middle/high graphics. It was amazing to be able to run it! To use Morrowind, you needed a computer from the future XD
Now that I have a more powerful computer, I use graphical mods, but truely, Skyrim is indeed already a beautiful game.

I think I just don't see things that other people see.  I even look at the before/after images on the Nexus and I see no difference.  Sometimes I even think it looks worse, like the eye mod I tried which made the eyes look brighter and glossy.  I suppose some people might like that but I don't.  I've never noticed any difference in Windhelm except obviously that it's supposed to look like an old city.

Ah well, not noticing problems is not a problem I feel too anxious about addressing.

Ooh, quest fixes, finally.

I don't think I've -ever- made it to a quest objective that I intended to go to without at least a dozen detours as shiny things pop up on my compass. Someday, I'll actually finish a questline. Someday..

I just started my first character who is using magic. Wow, it's like an entirely new game!

Really impressed with the College of Winterhold so far. The NPCs are so much more interesting than the members of the Mage's Guild in Oblivion. That Orc librarian is pure gold.

I've been limiting myself to only using spell tomes that I find, never purchasing them. Although after my third or fourth time finding a spell tome that I had found previously, I indulged in trading in a couple of them for new spells.

Having a lot of fun with the rune spells in particular.

It's not sarcasm at all,   He's touching on the very beauty of the game.  There's *so* much to do, so many places to go and explore.       The whole game is a massive, sprawling world without   rails,  or hand-holding, or anything  resembling limitations. That comment of his was pretty much precisely  how I felt when I first got this game.  And why I still love playing it today.

A reviewer for one of the game publications  (IGN, I think?) said it best:     Skyrim.  Embarking on an epic  quest to...  Ooh, a butterfly.
