All that so Azura the uber-**** could get her revenge on the Tribunal.....

So could the same thing happen if Talos gets uppity?  The question is, whether he'd be more angry about the imperials banning his worship or the Stormcloaks wanting to leave the empire.

@ phaonica- This was a bit of a revelation for me as I never felt any affinity for the empire at all, but it makes sense that if you've seen them as the good guys all along it would be hard to side against them.

The game does some nice balancing.  My orc game is the first time I followed Hadvar in the prologue, and I've gotten a couple random events very early that give a Stormcloak view.  One was a redguard who said "the empire is in shambles, after all we fought for they surrendered anyway" and gave me the quest to join the Stormcloaks.  The other was justiciars escorting a prisoner.  They asked me if I worship Talos, I said "I can worship whomever I want" and they attacked.  Had never gotten that one before.

Has anyone seen the Thalmor who dresses as an imperial or Stormcloak officer?  I just read about that.  Apparently he has a note on him that says "just put on the uniform, no one will notice."

@ Giggles, I think you were asking for a mod that removes the clouds from the map.  This one now has an add-on that removes them.

@Addai thank you.

Also I slipped further into my Heroic Sociopath mode:
Image IPB

Walking through the Reach i ran into no less than THREE Justicar squads, two with prisoners.
My Orc declared it Altmer season and left them all in the ditch.

Then i finally got hit by the "death squad" who I also left in the ditch.

Honestly a two-handed focused character is like instant death to anything that gets in the way.
Especially cause he has Skyforge Steel.

Does that material ever stop being useless? It still outclasses Dwemer gear.

I'm having a hard time fitting in as an Altmer in this game. The biggest baddies in the game that the player fights against are all Altmer. They are portrayed as so evil that no one in their right mind would want to have anything to do with them and of course you can't. As for the non-Thalmor Altmer that live around Skyrim...none of them acknowledge the player as a high elf and none of them are followers and it doesn't feel like any of them are really your friends.

The main quest and the civil war quest seem so much like they were made for a Nord that whenever I play these questlines as an Altmer I feel a distinct sense of not fitting in...or not being right for the job so to speak. It's almost like my high elf is play-acting at being a Nord. And of course there is always all the talk of taking the fight to the Aldmeri Dominion...against my people (and yes I know that not all Altmer are a part of the Aldmeri Dominion, but most of them are). I just feel so out of place in Skyrim.

@ Giggles throw perks into Smithing and you can make better stuff but Skyforge Steel will be good for a long time .

I'm actually starting to hate Skyrim simply because it keeps lagging on my PS3. I can't even play for an hour without it going all laggy.

Ah, slightly funny thing. So I journey over to Falkreath and notice an Elder Dragon about to attack the town. Well, I know I can't take this thing down in Falkreath for two reasons: No room and idiotic citizens.

So I lure it out to the mountainside and it lands on the ground. I'm now going after it and who do I see the Dragon attacking?

....

The Thalmor!

Now I'm going to be sad that I have to kill this Elder Dragon

I'm rolling sword and board but I have a proper respect for 2Hers because they can still instakill me.  I just got power bash, that's kind of fun.

Ever get the encounter with the Old Orc?  Very cool.  Be careful if you challenge him at low levels.  He kicked my tail and then when I reloaded, he didn't respawn.  I was bummed.

Image IPB

What did spawn was one of those "milk drinker" challenge orcs, and he dropped a Battle Staff... never seen such a thing in the game before.  Makes me want to hit someone with it.

Image IPB

Oh, we were talking about whether the orcs would shout in orc or Nord... the orc VA is doing the shouts.

Have you tried deleting your auto-saves? It's worked for me so far.

 weekly update on Korrin
Main focus this week was taking over Riften's thieves guild ...found the traitor to be a surprisingly easy kill.
Surprised to have her first easy solo dragon-kill (maybe the nightingale gear is helping...or maybe it was a particularly wimpy dragon).
of course it was not as easy as the previous dragon encounter when Esbern and a few khajit did most of the work.
Killed one named dragon which had just killed a few thalmar (allowing their prisonner to escape) only to have the game freeze up during the soul-absorbtion and had to go back to an earlier save point.
The dragon outside the sky summit temple (or whatever) was a bit awkward but only because it was flying around and killing foresworn.
killed 2 more dragon priests and other old evils.
When getting the drum for the bards one enemy dropped his unique staff and I was able to both loot his body for it and collect the one on the ground.
Still not ccertain about the bugs in the wrewolf cure - I had to say no to Vilkas to talk to Farkas, and if I did Vilkas first the quest would instantly fail...even after completing all 4 cures then I ended up with 2 witch heads (out of the 4 I took), the count of days as a werewolf is still increasing, and guards are making remarks about a "wolfish smile" etc

getting ready to try for the dark brotherhood

Yeah he's impersonating an officer called Valmir outside one of the mask quest holds.

I'd like for my character to have some friends from his own race. Whenever I choose a race in a game like this I like to feel kinship with my own kind, not be an outcast which is what I feel like my Altmer is.

There are a few male dark elves you can marry and that are followers. I find a couple a couple of them pretty cute, but I won't say who in case anyone laughs. ;) There are no Altmer men for my female Altmer to marry though which is a shame because I really like way they look.

Really just the simple greetings that they had in Oblivion (especially the race-specific friendly greetings) would really help as would an Altmer follower and one to marry. And lest it seem like I hate Skyrim, I actually adore it and play it all the time...it's just my poor Altmer is pretty depressed.

Known bug for PS3.  Bethesda says the next patch  (which will be out before the end of the month) will address it.

Yeah, I struggle with this as well. For the moment I have switched to a different character, because role-playing wise I am at a loss with my Altmer.

It's also a shame you can't marry a Khajiit. Some races are meant to be forever alone.:crying:

Right now I am running around in a Dwemer battle armor, but its really....I dont know to much like Cailan.
I like that Orcish armor looks badass and barbaric.

I've been (slowly) playing through the Imperial side just to see how that goes. It's worth trying to play through though, to give it a chance.

I remember that guy :P. I remember being surprised to come across an Altmer Stormcloak, but once I started talking to him it became readily apparent that he was an imposter!

I wonder how difficult it would be to make a mod that simply swaps the model of an improved steel sword with the model of the silver great sword. That would solve the problem.
It also surprised me that the nightingale blade can't be improved either, strange. *shrugs*

There is an Altmer stables-guy in Windhelm that is really cheerful and fun. Ulundil. You can't marry him, but he is very friendly. He was too nice for my Altmer character, but I like to pretend that my Stormcloak was having trysts with him. <3

How do you like the Wolf armor? It seems to go well with the Skyrim Steel motif on other Companions.

The Heavy armors do look much better than the Lighter versions, but they also weigh much, much more. I used to care far less about appearances, but when you are staring at some kit for several hours, it should not be distracting. Some outfits simply do not look that great on other races; possibly genders either.

The Elven Warrior garb simply looks off on my Breton males, as does the Glass helms I have used. The leather outfits seem to look the best, but is also difficult in finding pieces worthy of higher lvl play, and I pass on Enchanting simply to get something to look right.  And the Dragon armors are very disappointing, and no weapons w/o mods???

The Scaled and Glass sets I have seen looked great on my Orc; rather silly on my Humans. Must be the more brutal look of the racial features coming thru.

Bcause of this, it seems I need to restart a female Dragonborn, as well as a male for Heavy armors; don't care for the look seen on females. And maybe an Elf to gve the Elven garbs a chance.
