So you can never actually kill them. Well that sucks.

There is a console command for this:

setessential [NPC ID] 1 for Essential / 0 for Non

See here for more details:

http://www.uesp.net/.../Skyrim:Console

P.S. But why kill them? Last place I saw them was holed up at Sky Altar, which Esbern blurted out to many in the room during the truce settlements. I figure they will have a long time ahead of them to look back and reflect on past errors themselves while running from the Thalmor.

You steal from the old lady in the woods?  That's like murder-knifing the dog at Ostagar

Perhaps not; just take a look in her basement, and even if you do not steal, Anise gets all upset that you may have discovered that she is starting a coven.

Those Dragon Priest Masks seem to be somewhat problematic.

If you go Heavy Armor, one may mess up perks and armor rating by wearing Light. If you go Light Armor, some perks and armor rating may be spoiled by wearing Heavy. And if you go Alteration, it woulld seem that you would lose some perks for wearing either.

Or am I missing soimething?

Right now, I'm trying to sacrifice someone to Boethiah, but i think the quest is glitched.

That quest always glitches on me, too. After you sacrifice your follower, if it doesn't trigger, just start attacking the Boethiah followers, and that will usually begin the next sequence of events. I believe this is a known bug.

She's a witch, not a kindly old lady.  She'd have ended up like Moira and they'd probably be attacking Riverwood.  Anyway I just usually look in her basement and she attacks me.  This time, she was already dead when I got there, maybe from the wolves nearby- so I was just helping myself.

Everything must be sacrificed for alchemy!  I told myself I'd leave some butterflies in Skyrim this game, but I'm afraid I can't do that, either.

Speaking of bugs... because I'm too much a penny pincher, I haven't yet bought a house. And because I hear I need a weapon rack to fix the Grand Staff of Charming bug.

I found it early before the quest and now I can't give it to Enthir. Oh, well. I been stashing lots of items that are valuable to sell when I have a more profitable barter skill. Till, then it's the college dorm room (even though I'm arch-mage).

^If you're in with the Thieves guild, just sell it. The thing's worth about 1400 gold to a fence. That's more than what Enthir would have given you as a quest reward for retrieving it.

Of course, if  you already began that quest you're SOL, yes.

Good to know. At least, til I get a better barter skill again. ;)

And luckily, even though it says it weighs 8 lbs each ( I have two) I hear quest items have no actual weight. So it's not hurting anything 'til then.

My Orc finally hoofed it to Riften yesterday, and bought the Amulet of Mara. Ghorbash, my follower, said a couple of different things about it when talking to him. I didn't realize he was a marriageable NPC! Happy dance!

I later spoke with Moth gro-Bagol, the Orc blacksmith in Understone Keep (Markarth), and he also said something sweet! I'm sure Gat gro-Shargakh (Left Hand/Kolskegger Mine) probably says the same stuff, but awww. To me, the male Argonian and Orc marriageable NPCs are the most romantic in the game.

Decisions, decisions.

Some of the Nords are just...meh. "Wanna get hitched?" "Why sure!" "Derp-a-derp-derp." Image IPB

Granted, this is not my first Skyrim spring romance, so I'm aware of what I'm getting into...but if you're going to bother, at least make it interesting.

About right. There are interesting choices both in Light and Heavy category though, so it's not too bad.
But sadly if you go the Mage Armor route, you should probably forget about the masks...

After a quick look on-line, there may be one that fits my current Dragonborn, thankfully. These have remained in chests in all my playthroughs, and I was hoping to change the look a little for this one.

Q; I am unable to place both the Ancient Shroud on top of the other possible choices. Was this possible glitch fixed?

I was tempted to hold out for one of the sexy orc men, but Farkas has too many advantages.  You can continue to adventure with him and the Companions seem sort of like family.  Plus, I think his personality meshes really well with my orc, even though I picture her as a bit more cerebral than your average orc.  She collects books and has some alchemy.  I just have fun picturing their conversations.

Farkas: What are you doing?
Shar: This is a book.  It's called reading.
-long pause-
Farkas: When you're done, wanna go beat up on some bandits?
Shar: <3 <3 <3

On the down side, thus far his marriage dialogue is exactly the same as Balimund's was, so it's like marrying Balimund all over again.  They could have had the VA record a few different lines.  Image IPB

If you get the Archmage Crafting mod, you can make a Morokei circlet.

I love that mod.  It's one of my favorites.  You can also craft unenchanted mage and daedric robes, and make the archmage robe look like any kind of robe you want.

OMG.

I love my assassin build right now.
Focusing on: Sneak, Archery, One-Handed, Pickpocketing, and some Alchemy.

Riverwood is going to enter a depression after I rob the whole damn town.
Not got any good pics of my Khajiit yet though.

I did call him Ra'Viir and imagine him mocking his foes a bit like Zevran a times.

Ra'Viir: Just because I am a tomb robber and you a drauger does not mean we cant be friends right? Right? Ah well time to bust a move as they say.

There's a basement in that little shack?

More like a root cellar with an Alchemy lab; several ingredients of various kinds, and a letter.

Damn.

I am doing the A Lovely Letter quest.
Somehow I cant get the option to give both fake letters to Camila even though the Wiki says there should be that option.

Anyone else have trouble with that quest?

Yes, with an alchemy table and a couple poisons that are very nice to get your hands on in early game.  That's why I plunder her every time.  Image IPB  The down side is getting mauled by those hired thugs, which can be quite a pain at low level.  This last time they found me in Riverwood, but unfortunately for them, I had decided to keep Farkas along a bit longer after the Dustman's Cairn mission.

Hmm...I'll have to check that out.  I figured she was magic peddler of some sort, but too weak to be anything significant.  I once got chased by a troll at level 4 (quite unfair!) and kited it too Anise's shack figuring I'd get some needed NPC aid.  She died instantly and thus figured she can't anything special.

BTW, just downloaded the 1.4 beta from steam.  And the hype is spot on.    Frame rates in cities jumps by 8-10!  I was so happy, I went into my settings and jacked shadows up to ultra and AA/AF to 8x and 12x respectively.  So now my Skyrim looks better and my frame rates  don't appear to have taken  even the slightest hit.

Haven't yet tested  any of the listed quest fixes though, and since I never did have a problem with weapon racks/bookshelves, I can't   comment on whether those fixes work either.

Sooo.... we were talking about Falmer making incursions on the surface, and those &$!* chaurus.  Last night I stumbled into the Chillwind Depths...  Image IPB

Reading the Torn Note, it makes me wonder if the Falmer are just replaying what was done to them by the Dwemer.  The monstrosities he's referring to there are the chaurus.  There are captive bodies inside their pens.  Image IPBImage IPBImage IPB  The Eydis it's addressed to is the innkeeper at the Old Hroldan Inn.  Unfortunately wiki says you can't tell her you found her husband's body.

@ Yrkoon, where did you find the patch on Steam?  I was looking last night and couldn't find a place to dl it, and it didn't seem like Steam was doing so automatically.

@Addai:

Steam won't update automatically for Beta Patches, you have to tell Stam you want to use it.

Here is how to do it.

Get steam up. Go to your settings. Click on 'Beta Participation' (yes)  then choose  Skyrim Beta. Then hit OK. It'll update your game as soon as you start it up.
