Damn.
I am doing the A Lovely Letter quest.
Somehow I cant get the option to give both fake letters to Camila even though the Wiki says there should be that option.
Anyone else have trouble with that quest?
Not since noting that one felow is a great starting Trainer, and the other just interrupts my rest by singing the same song repeatedly....

Than used him to level my archery AND pickpocketing.
Hehehe.
He gets the girl and I get free skill points.
In game terms I win.

A Thalmor hit squad, hired thugs, and a Dark Brotherhood assassin all along my trip to Dawnstar, and up to the Vaermina quest.
Erandur: Why are you covered in blood?
Burz: Uhm...no real reason (He had just killed some Thalmor)
-We get attacked outside Dawnstar by thugs-
Burs:-hastily tears up the note-
Erandur: What was that?
Burz: Nothing.
-Outside the tower a Dark brotherhood assassin attempts to kill us and fails-
Burz: -facepalms-
Erandur: Maybe we should just get this done BEFORE something else tries to kill us
Burz: Good idea.

Last night, after finishing up the quest, I wore the ring around, killed and ate Narfi as a little snack, then fast-traveled to Whiterun...where one of the guards said, "Orc, your breath is terrible! What have you been eating?"
I just about died.
Later on, I found a wolf in a cage that was apparently caught by poachers. When I opened the cage door, the poachers attacked us, and the wolf jumped in to help attack them, but was a friendly to us. After it was all over, he went back to the cage. And my Orc fed on its captors.

That's the first time I've done the quest that way, and it was much more satisfying. I always felt terrible choosing the other path.

Oh! Also, for the Blessings of Nature quest, instead of hacking up the tree and taking its sap, I escorted that guy from the Temple of Kynareth to the Eldergleam Sanctuary with us. He presented a different option - an Eldergleam sapling.

Yeah that quest was rather barbaric otherwise.

Although I did save all three people on my mage by chain stunning the spriggans.
God its like insane tree huggers in tree form or something with those things.
I WAS JUST WALKING BY THE DAMN TREE STOP TRYING TO KILL ME.
Oh on a side note...archery is powerful in the early game.
Most foes go down in one or two hits.

I love blizzard and lightning storm. Fire storm seems a bit too brief, but you can't go wrong with a DBZ-style lightning storm. Add "call storm" to the mix, and you're pretty much an elemental god.

Oh, really? I took that guy along, but somehow missed him saying that. Instead he came after I had already cut open the tree, and ended up attacking me. ****g hippies.happy_daiz wrote...

Yea? He has a purpose.
I brought him with me . . . or tried to. He died. I reloaded. He died again. I reloaded. He died again. I hadn't even made it to the Eldergleam yet - bears and such kept wiping this moron out.
So the next time he vanished and died, I said screw it, kept going, and hacked up the damn tree.
Never bothered to wonder if he'd have added an option. Did you still get to kill the Spriggens and those other two people hanging out in there?

Funniest part is, first time I did it (lost my savefile so had to restart QQ), he was alive but the quest trigger where he talks to you didn't start, so I F-ed up the Eldergleam than the Spriggins raped the villagers lol.
Fun quest though, on my second playthrough I was surprised when he talked to me, although the tree bestowing the sap-ling was cheese.

The Khajit reminds me of Zevran, possibly due to Zevran being his VA. Or at least, I wast old Zevran's VA voices some Khajit, but I don't know if Vasha is one of them he voices.
The blubbering Nord seems too pathetic to warrant a contract on his life.
But the woman seems definitely like someone would want to murder her. Possibly even her own husband.
I'm leaning more towards the woman. I think I'll kill her and join the Brotherhood.

When I took that quest, I figured he was a Daedric Prince in disguise.
Then I realized he actually enjoyed the area, so I figured he was going to present an alternative way of completing the quest without me having to butcher the tree against those peoples' protests.
And really, I'm glad I didn't have to kill the Spriggans. Poor Spriggans.

In the two times I've done that quest I've killed the woman. Not because of her situation, or because the leader of the Dark Brotherhood posed some hypothetical for me to solve or any of that nonsense. The Ethereal Writer Redux wrote...

I killed her because she sent my "too annoying to live" meter completely off the charts. When you're captured and bound and your executioner is mere inches away, it's just plain dumb to start acting high and mighty and fling insults everywhere, practically daring someone to kill you.. I would have killed her even if Astrid had told me she was the wrong one.

I killed them all, only way to be sure ;P
Vasha, cold-blooded murderer and all, was the only one I was hesitant to take out. Sure he was scum, but he was my kind of scum!

As a bloodthirsty Khajit werewolf (the irony!) i butchered all 3 of them.
Astrid was most satisfied.

Those Dragon Priest Masks seem to be somewhat problematic.
If you go Heavy Armor, one may mess up perks and armor rating by wearing Light. If you go Light Armor, some perks and armor rating may be spoiled by wearing Heavy. And if you go Alteration, it woulld seem that you would lose some perks for wearing either.
Or am I missing soimething?
What are you talking about, I've been wearing a dragon priest mask since I took it off Volkun's cold dead body within my first 10-15 hours of play....haven't removed since and notice no problems to armor rating...although I equipped a second piece of headgear over it.

Furthermore if you're just wearing regular clothes/ plain robes and rely on Alteration tree Mage Armor perks for protection, you're quite screwed, as wearing any mask will negate the Mage Armor bonus. And Morokei kinda seems made for mages...

Exactly. I've been down the "escort the hapless villager to x location" road before, and it usually goes very badly.
I waited to do the quest until I could just fast travel right to the sanctuary. He'll live every time. Funny story - I had no idea you could actually just fast travel when escorting someone, for probably the first...maybe 50 hours of my first playthrough. Then I finally tried it, and it worked, and I've been doing it ever since. Rescue missions? Piece of cake.
After receiving the sapling, there were no spriggans present (presumably, they were still inside the tree), and the other peeps in the sanctuary were not hostile. You could have killed them yourself, I suppose, but I didn't. Their loot just wasn't worth it to me, and I didn't think they'd count as kills for the Ebony Blade.
I went back to Whiterun after some time had passed, and see that the tree is starting to look healthy again. I'm not sure exactly how a tiny little sapling did that, but who am I to judge?
