Well they do give a rugged look I suppose, if that's what you're after.

On a random note! I love this game but every single armor set looks so dumb in this game! If it is snowing everywhere you go why do all the armors and clothing show so much skin?

I liked the look of iron on my orc early on. It does have a rugged look, and doesn't have the molded breasts which are just... ugh. Not as prominently as other sets, anyway. Some of the "lower order" armors are better looking than the higher tier ones. With smithing improvements, they can also be functional for a long time. Their appearance will also change subtly as you upgrade them.Haplose wrote...
Quite a nice character indeed. But that choice of armor surprises me. Steel equipment is fine (perhaps even best in terms of looks), but iron are just plain ugly IMO.

Nord, of course! I don't know about William Wallace, but Robert the Bruce had Norse heritage. There was a lot of Viking settlement in Scotland.

Question. I want to play as a rogue on my next playthrough. Is it imperative I go to Riften immediately after Whiterun so I can begin the Thieves Guild quests?
The same question for a mage. Do I go right away to Winterhold tojoin the Mage's College?
Because this game would look silly if everyone walked around wearing coats, ski masks and scarves.JasonPogo wrote...

You know I really wonder where all the extra dark brotherhood members keep coming from.
Arent they you know...in decline or something.
This is like the fourth or so assassin I killed.
Yeesh.

As others have said, you don't even have to go to Whiterun at all if you don't want to. The benefit of the guilds is that you get goodies and access to trainers.horacethegrey wrote...

Well if you take the fact that Tiber Septim was a Nord, they raided the whole freaking continent. lol I don't think they have the same reputation as seafarers that the Vikings had.Makavellie wrote...
Speaking of conquest and raiding, do the Nords raid as much as their irl counterparts? Are they good seafarers? The Nords seem more landlocked then the vikings
