On a slightly better note I discovered that the only two shouts I need so far are Marked for Death, and Unrelenting force.

Seriously I just used UR to run into the final boss during Break of Dawn toss him back and then pulverize the living crap out of him.

The simplest solution is sometimes the best solution.

Marked for Death is an absolute must. My husband has been ignoring my claims about its awesomeness, but watched me take out an Elder Dragon in 3 hits after using Marked for Death last night. Woo! Imagine if I had my 2-handed maxed out!

Will have to agree with you in regards to Marked for death I use it on occassion. Of course it's pretty sad when you play on Master and can take down a dragon in 3 shots without it. I'd rather Melee the dragon  using Dawnstar to be honest. It does less damage then my bow but the dragons are at least a little bit of a challange.

I  stopped in Whiterun I was just going to go into Breweze home ad pick up a few potions and some more arrows. When some idiot comes up to me screaming something about you call yourself a mage? I'm thinking this idiot must have a death wisth.<LOL> So I replied to him with the one for which states something or other about inflting his ego or some such like that there and he says some and starts blasting me with fireballs. So I I took out my bow and shot is arse one hit and he was dead. And I just said no you called me a mage I just made you dead.<G> Black Azura's star don't leave home without it. Image IPB

Exactly, plus a little too soon after watching this:

Will have to admit that after checking that link out it reminded me so much of why I never liked that show and don't ever watch it either.

I liked the Dragon Priest mask on my mage,
It totally completes the bad ass archmage look and all.

Image IPB

Also I did use the Dismay shout and enjoyed seeing the mighty Stormcloaks run like little girls.

Then again those ****ing mages who use Ice Storm can TWO SHOT my level 39 warrior.
TWO HITS and he gets killed.
That was just plain stupid.

Must have been funny seeing the Stormcloaks running like scared rabbits.<G> You ever use the Daedra sword Dwan Breaker in draugr crypts? Its so funny watching then run away in all directions like their arses are on fire. Even the ones laying in thier little cubby hole things get up and run. I then set up fire rune traps especially in areas for which there is oil all over and wait for them to get the courage to come back.<EG> Will have to amdit tht its been some fun times this play through with them

I honestly felt very bad for them during that siege.

Since I had Lydia, two Dremora, a Dragon, and my mage casting lightning bolts ripping through them.
Though I was laughing with my Dremora cutting the ham, while cutting them down.

Crushing a Nord army with magic, is like crushing Caesar's army as a female Courier.
DEATH BY IRONY!

Speaking of irony, it's rather ironic to fight an army full of Fenrises and Craig Boones.

Then there's my orc character who's doing the legion quests, and Fenris keeps telling her "I don't abide fancy clothing, but you look like you might. You should go visit Radiant Raiment." She stands there in orc armor giving him ironic eyebrow.

At least that's better than what the guards say. "Orc armor, eh? As ugly and tough as those who made it." Who you calling ugly, punk?!

I didn't appreciate how stupid enemies are until recently...

Falmer are blind, so it makes sense that they would run to any spot where they hear a sound. If I plink some arrows in a direction nearby, they run to it. Knowing that has saved me from potential ambushes on more than one occasion. What I didn't expect was that humans would react that way - you thought you heard something? Maybe it was your buddy that got sniped right next to you? *sigh*

I hadn't done Peryite's quest since my first playthrough, so I totally forgot what the Daedric artifiact was - Spellbreaker. That's a fun one. Why is it, though, that every time I try to get to Peryite's shrine, I can never find the pathway to it, and always end up scaling the cliffs?

FONV had at least smarter AI in many places.
Or at least people who RECOGNIZED how deadly the PC was.

Legionnaire: DONT YOU EVER STOP!
Courier: NOT WHEN THERE ARE SPINES LEFT TO SHATTER!

There was no better perk than Terrifying Presence.
NONE.

I CRAWLED OUT OF MY GRAVE TO PUT YOU IN YOUR'S BENNY!!!!!!!!!!!

Well now I'm glad to read that I'm not the only one for which has done the cliff<mtn> climbing in the game<G>  I seen an even funnier one in the game the other day. Was going after the ES and came across this falmer looking at this door like he was expecting to hear it open. The funny part was he was holding a lit torch. I'm thinking WTF I thought the were suppose to be blind whats a torch going to do for him?

I hate how the one VA pronounces "Orc", though - it's more like "Awk".

My follower(s) must hate me, because I'm always losing them while I'm rock-climbing. I usually continue until I'm able to add a new point on my map, then fast travel there, then my follower shows up, all magic-like.

That's pretty funny about the Falmer. I wondered that same thing, when I saw torch lights in one of their hut areas. I remember wondering who in the heck would have lit them...unless they're just really cold or something (I would be). Beats me.

All the time! Dawnbreaker is my favorite weapon in the game.  Sure, it does low damage, but the effect on the undead...priceless.

It's one thing to have utter chaos in a Dragr crypt with undead running in all directions with (literally) their hair on fire, but it's quite another to have that sort of cartoon fun, and then get the BOOM! and you're treated to a surreal blue explosion of bones, skulls and ancient weapons.  One of the most gratifying experiences in the game for me...only topped by Shield Charging a cluster of Mages or Deathlords.  Image IPB

How do you get them to ooh and aww over your armor?! Seems no matter what armor I'm wearing when I go to solitiude I get a comment like "You can sell all that junk @ bits and pieces. I'd like to take my sword and gut him/her.<LOL>

They might only hate you mine would have quit. word would have gotten out all over Skyrim. And I'd never have a follower again. <LOL> Thats if I use them but I don't.<G> I run the game solo.

I thought it was funny as well when I seen the falmer holding a torch. Then there is the High Elf I think he is that belongs to the Bards college its noon and the sun is out nice and bright and this idiot is walking around with a torch. Image IPB

I couldn't agree with you more about Dawn breaker used to make my own daedric sword when I got high enough btu decided to to do something this play through and give DB a try. First time I heard the boom and seen the Draugr running for the hills I couldn't figure out what was going on. After the 2nd time and sone of themn ending up as ash piles I read the descrip more closely and thought now this is nice.<LOL>

Aww yes shield charging the mages is always fun especially when their spells do little to know damage to you. With the enchantments for which I've got on my equipment as well as for what she gets for being a Nord she's got over a 100% resistance to cold, fire and shock spells.<G> Now since this is the first time for which I am using the shield didn't know that there was an Elemental perk. Next time through will change my enchantments and take that perk for shields as well.<LOL>

BTW How much damage can you do with Dawnstar? As for me Dawnstar does well over 130 pts per hit and thats without the 3x sneak bonus.<G> Not to mention I only have 4/5 of armsman. Working on getting the last one in armsman then I'll get over 140 per hit.Image IPB

Let's see, I'm right at 130 damage with Dawnbreaker, with 4/5 taken in Armsman.  When compared to 218 and 213 respectively with my Ebony Mace and Axe, it's not all that impressive, but the effect, as you've seen, is well worth a reduction in damage.

And I will tell you taking Elemental Protection on the Blocking tree is a must for a shield warrior.  It was the game changer for me against pyromages and necromancers, which reduces any of their their elemental spell effects by half.  Whenever I meet enemy mages now, I just raise the shield and charge.  And that's just how I like it...simple and effective! Image IPB

You know I wonder if the entire universe is not simply a war between chaos and order.
Talos is trying to hold it in place
The Thalmor are trying to break it

The Dovahkhin pulls a Talos, and Alduin tries bringing about the end.

Much in the same way that Sheogorath and Jyggalag are chaos vs order during the Shivering Isles.
Maybe its wrong to STOP the cycle from moving though since that line about things being set in place and moving BEFORE their time could be slightly bad.

Or maybe the Dwemer cant come back until the cycle moves forward or something.
Or maybe my brain just oozed out my ears since it hates pondering divine metaphysics. :o

You know I think The Dragonborn's role as a Shezarrine sent to balance the mortal realm is a pretty logical step for the story in Skyrim. Bethesda already tested the waters for story-arc DLC with New Vegas's Ulysses sub plot that ran through all of them and honestly the studio has a penchant for doing crazy badass things in DLC. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if the last Skyrim DLC had The Dragonborn and Talos team up to fight armies of Thalmor goons.

Since to me that seems like the unresolved plot thread from Skyrim, The battle between Man and Mer and the Mortal Plane. It's no mystery in the series that Talos's ascension changed the face and even the very nature of the divines and he alone among the Divines is known to have manifested himself twice in the mortal realm to guide it's great heros (Wulf in Morrowind and The Prophet in Oblivion KotN). It's sort of the great project of the Aedra and Talos in particular to get the Elves to give up their desire to unmake the world and accept their lives as mortal creatures. Since it seems the war between Man and the Thalmor is pretty much an inevitability regardless of the outcome of the civil war in Skyrim.

Besides the struggle between Order and Chaos is a trope as old as time and one that Ultima VII got some damn good use out of.

Went to a new area for me today, and finally heard someone complain about me scarfing all the loot in Hillgrund's Tomb.

I tried to get around having a follower by Pickpocketing all the keys and notes, but the tour guide came anyway. And when I picked my first chest, he gets all upset, then decides it will be fine if I help him restore order. Nice change of pace.

Finally lost a NPC of note: Faendal of Riverwood was taken from us during the last Dragon raid. Normally I reload when significant characters are killed, but his sacrifice to defend the sawmill and Gerder was so well timed that it deserved a special nod. I carried his body back to his house, and planted the Elf in the garden. The few comments made over his remains were nice to hear; wish there had been more personal asides.

OTOH, the usual remarks one hears from the townsfolk appeared to be more cold and callous than intended in light of the event, esp the flirtation of Faendal's lost love. If not for the family of the local Smith, my noble Orc may not return. My other Orc may have been angered enough to slay them where they stand, as the Elf is often my initial tutor in Archery if taken.

Hell. Yeah.

I love how Skyrim is a fairly grounded fantasy setting in terms of look and what not as far as the Elder Scrolls go, but when they go full on crazy High Fantasy thats all the more enjoyable because of how everything else tries to stay somewhat more grounded. It makes for a nice contrast.
