I'm not talking about a quest not appearing but an unfinished quest disappearing (and being restarted) -I found Red Eagle a bit tough..so I spent a few weeks powering up and in the meantime the quest had vanished from my log

And I definitely had 2 witch heads left over....don't undestand why

I did that quest 2 times in the same game once, of course it bugged Vilkas at the end but yeah i ended up with 2 of the swords lol..

I started to like being a rogue in skyrim, maybe because of the finishing move, maybe because I really like shaddy characters:

Okay Aela just turned into Gandalf.

She picked up an Ice Storm staff and with Dragonsbane she just kicked some serious Falmer butt.

Though according to some people I know its just icky to play an Orc who marries a human.
Then again those people play to much D and D where Orcs are always chaotic evil.
They nearly had a heart attack when I played an Orc monk....those were the days.

Ulfric Hatewatch #151:

Interesting that Torygg can show up in Sovngarde. Even more interesting is what he has to say:

- "I faced him fearlessly - my fate inescapable, yet my honor is unstained - can Ulfric say the same?"

- "When Ulfric Stormcloak, with savage Shout, sent me here, my sole regret was fair Elisif, left forlorn and weeping."

Oh Ulfric, you liar, coward and opportunist, you. But was there ever any doubt?

I always laugh at the idea the fight was even fair.

Its like walking into a boxing match with pistol and shooting someone dead.

Level 3 shouts really should be as powerful as any spell you can get

But nope I can toss a Fireball for far more damage than I can with any shout.

@Joy Divison-I've never had the Vigil of Stendarr attack any of my characters including my current female Nord and she's wielding 3 Daedric items. The only Daedra quest for which doesn't go over well with me is the "Taste of Death" all the others I can handle. For the most part most of them are pretty tame.

@Angus-I couldn't agree with you more I for one enjoy the DB quest line.

@Giggles- Come on now your not going to let a little thing like the trying to kill you a few times detour you from joining them are you? After all their not the only ones try to kill the protaganist .<G>

That maybe true but what spells are there that will send your enemies flying across the room or off the mtn? Or will allow you to freeze them solid like an ice sculpture? It is so funny when they are in mid attack and just before they can strike you you use either Ice Form and freeze them instantly or Unrelenting shout and send them flying  across the room.Image IPB

Addai67- How much damage does your ebony blade do? As for Dawnbreaker when I'm wielding it it does 132 pts of dam. and that is only with 4/5 perks in Armsman. and with the perk in sneak that I've got which gives me 6x's damage thats a whole lot of damage there to enemies. Not counting the fact that it's so much fun watching the undead run away like their arses are on fire or even end up in a pile of ash.<EG>

How did you get it that high?  This is improved as much as I can improve it with smithing maxed.

Yes, a pity you can't say "outta my way, milk drinker."  :D

Question re the quest to rescue Thorald Grey-Mane... I had heard that if you finished the imperial quest line, an option would open up with the guard to get him released, but I'm not getting it.  Anyone else?  Not that I mind killing some Thalmor, but it seems like something should have been there.  I even smithed some imperial armor to make it look official.

Ok just rechecked my stats and Dawn breaker with 5 in Armsman does 151 in damage per hit. My Daedric bow does 420 with having 4 in overdraw.

What do you have your armsman at? And did you upgrade Dawnbreaker once or twice?

Your 69 pts plus another 80% for those perks (ca. +55 pts) should yield about that much, also.

Personally I just went in and killed everyone in the place. After all Skyrim's better off with a few less Thalmor. Image IPB

She would need to have gotten Dawnbreaker  upgraded to 74 pts of damage.

Your one handed perks apply to your one handed weapons. If you upgraded dawnbreaker twice it should have been @ 74.

Addai are you using steam? If so add me and I'll explain more same handle as here.

Been working on my DB assassin Argonian and he's shaping up into a quite impressive silent killer. He managed to drop the gargoyle on Vittoria without even being detected then crept along the battlements and found a little balcony facing the street that leads to Proudspire and the palace, jumped to that, then down some rocks and crept all the way back to the gates. Smooth and stealthy. Walks-In-Shade was a good name for him I think.

Also, just a word of caution. Messing about with necromancy can be fun and games to begin with, but sometimes what is dead should stay dead. After all, sometimes they can come back wrong!

I don't use Steam chat or forums.

My one handed perks apply also to the ebony sword.  So whatever its base damage is, the perk just multiplies that.  So Dawnbreaker still lags way behind the curve.  I see now how you gave the figure you got, but my point is that it's inferior to one that I can make myself.

Did you wear self-made +Smithing items and drink self-made +Smithing potion?

Also, you can enchant armour pieces with +One-handed.

I think this is true, or that the damage on Dawnbreaker is capped. I just made and improved an ebony sword. I used four pieces of smithing gear with 32% improvement each and a potion of fortify smithing of 215% (made that using the fortify restoration glitch or cheat). One-handed at 100, 1/3 in bladesman.

The plain ebony sword maxed to 247 dam. (15 lbs $5400)
Dawnbreaker couldn't be improved beyond 142 dam. (10lbs $773).

This may be unique to Dawnbreaker. I also have Chllrend in my inventory (malachite) with 263 dam. (14 lbs $2281).plus the frost and paralyze uniques. Maybe because Dawnbreaker is an Daedric artifact.

No, but I didn't when making the other sword, either.  I have smithing maxed so I don't bother.

As for enchantments, I don't have a lot of perks in enchanting and I can still make better enchantments than what's on Dawnbreaker.  I'll have to check for my fire damage but I know it's higher than 10 points.

Daedric artifacts don't use any material perks when determining how much they can be improved. So they can always be improved only about 1/2 as much as other weapons you have the material perks for (Ebony, Daedric, etc.)

There is no such thing as a "maxed skill" in Skyrim. If you have smithing at 100, with enchants it can be 200. With Alchemy probably 300. With exploiting and enhanting-alchemy looping.... well I guess sky's the limit.

Dawnbreaker has some unique powers against undead though, that you can't copy. Sometimes it causes violent and flashy explosions when it hits an undead, damaging all other undead in range. Also it turns undead and makes then run away (with no level cap, perhaps?).
