BGS will probably do something f'ed up like that. The moot forces Ulfric and Elisif to marry and they kill each other on the wedding night.

Yeah, they all do that. Marry Aela, then leave her in Breezehome and she'll guzzle down all your... well, beverages. She'll also spend countless hours at the Alchemy lab. making what? I have no idea.  She doesn't have any ingredients.   You need ingredients first before you can actually make anything at an Alchemy table, Aela.

New playthrough, new character on PC.  First attempt at screen capture; first Dragon kill; got the cut scene. Not the best shot in the world, but you get the idea.

LOL, no but that's probably what they'll end up putting in the canon.

Was half way into the current playthrough with a 40th lvl Orc Archer/ 2H, and received the Shield of Solitude for services rendered. My first instict was to shelve it along with all the other gear that was awarded to him, but seemed to me that it was rather obvious that the Orc was training in something else.

But on second thought (and also because that Daedric warhammer turned out as ugly as a magnet covered in iron shavings), rather than play an entire new character based on S&S, I chose to make this Orc Dragonborn something of an overall warrior; a bit of 2H, 1H, Blocking, and Archery. Thus far, it has been quite fun to select the proper tools for the task at hand.

Notes:
* Mudcrabs make excellent Blocking trainers; gain 5pts, then kill it.
* So do DW Forsworn, but kill sooner.
* Finally was able to do something with the Red Eagle matched sword set besides a display.
* Falmer die especially well from an archers perspective.
* Dragons actually have Death scenes for 1H much like DAO.

I am unable to post pics, but my Orc is adorned with Orcish helm and boots; Ebony armor and guantlets. The open faced helm looks much better to me, and really seems to allows the dark red war-painted fanged Orc to seem quite intimidating...except to the son of certain blacksmith, of course. For him, I plan to sick a young lass from Whiterun to bloody his nose.

Just got my mage Attollocus another nice mod: Conjuration MADNESS. Contains 55 new summons inc; Dragons, Colossal mudcrab, Sheogorath (yes thats right), Trolls, giants, Draugr deathlords, Giant chickens.

Just had an amusing battle with an Ancient Dragon outside Dawnstar, i Summoned Two Dragons and called Odahviing turned into some crazy aerial battle before it landed and my gigantic mudcrab finished it off.

Summon Sheogorath... OMG I might have to get that one.

@Elhanan, shields also can make a nice decoration in your house.  But yes I like playing S & S in this game, which I never did in DAO.

Thanks to Patch 1.4 hitting consoles the other day, I was finally able to get One With The Shadows for 30G.

Restored Thieves Guild FTW.

Skyrim's no Fable. Besides I don't remember Vikings using firearms. I don't believe Ancient Romans used them either.

Very few games did the technology/magic mix right. In fact only Arcanum comes to mind. But that was kinda the whole focus of the game. And gameplay balance? There was no such a thing there.
Sure there was Wizardry... but what interesting did the firearms bring there? What unique?
I'll rather keep my bows & longbows, thank you very much.

Bah, I'm not sure whether to vomit or rage. Oh I know, how about revenge? Quick, lets find a good modder, and ask him to butcher MW3  by putting  dragons and swords in it, then lets peddle the mod on the Activision forums.

Liked S & S in DAO.  It was a bit more mechanical, with set moves, but I started with it and mastered it fairly well over several playthroughs.  I think I prefer Skyrim's system though, with freedom of movement and relying on timing and charged attacks.  Of course, you drain stamina like nobody's business.  At low-level, you might have 3 power moves (between sword and shield) in you, before your stamina's gone. The Shield Bash is strong enough though even at low-level to temporatily stun opponents (even trolls if timed well), but the downside is low damage output.  Hitting the right balance is key to becoming invulnerable.  You're very weak to start with though, so you have to constantly be moving around an opponent.

Funny thing, as still a low-level, I tripped into two troll caves (both east of Whiterun--one I had never seen before) and basically had to fight 8 trolls, pretty much right in a row.  Had just picked up Lydia as a follower (DL'd mod to flag her essential btw, she was really annoying in my first playthrough and caused me to restart too many times), who was range attacking, but I really had to manage my stamina.  They were wearing me out!  I would have never done this on my first playthrough.  It's quite a thing to go from a level 62 juggernaut, to a soft, low damage warrior again.

Back to your point, I like S & S in Skyrim, but I did like it in DAO as well.  Just two completely different systems, each having their own set of advantages/disadvantages.  Either way, as long as Shield can be used offensively (and used effectively), then that's a step in the right direction.

The members of the Dark Brotherhood are currently walking around in their underwear in my game... And no, that's not intentional. xD I downloaded the Black Sacrament armor pack with a default replacer of the shrouded armor, but with the high res pack the replacer was not showing up. Then Steam refused to start my game and gave an error, so I uninstalled most of my mods. When I loaded my game again, my shrouded armor looks different. I don't know what it is, but it's the same as the dark elf is wearing you sometimes see in the loading screen. Astrid is wearing that as well, and the rest of the DB is in their undies... Bah, how do I fix this? I have already reinstalled the mod again, but that didn't help. xD

With a Stealth perk for crits, the damage bonus is seemingly strong enough, at least with a Smithed enhanced 1H weapon. But I agree it is more fun learning the skill later in a strong build as opposed to a low armored lowbie.

Speaking of armor, some of these looks seen along the way on the Heavy trail are rather unbecoming. I was stuck with a Dwarven helm for a long, long time before gaining the Ebony helm now worn. While the Dwarven cover looked fine as part of the original set, it became somewhat grotesque as my Orc started wearing other pieces. Was almost enough for me to take Enchanting simply to get another helmet. Almost.....

And I believe the game is Evil; run by Murphey. When I play with Light armor, I see several great pieces of enchanted Heavy armor along the way. Now it is reversed; mostly desired items seen for Light armor usage while I wear Heavy. *shoots Murphey with both bow and musket, and a console command for the kill*

^I had the thing happen. In my previous playthough, I was running a Nord Brute. A straight forward, in your face, basher. So of course, items enchaned with Muffle and +stealth were dropping frequently for me. But now, in my current playthrough I'm running a stealthy, jack of all trades guy, and at level 45 I have yet to find a single item with a Muffle enchant on it. Not a one.

Which is Odd....  Because my very first playthough of this game,  I remember the item drops being so perfect that I thought the game's loot system was specifically geared towards your build

Maye the items are dropping for followers to use or something.
Does not really matter to me since I max out smithing and augment my PC with Daedric gear as I go.

I do enjoy using the Wabbajack though in a tight spot.
I did once turn a frost troll into a sweet roll.

@ Yrkoon - This is the first Muffle item I have used; one of the few I have seen in the entire game. In the past using Light armor, I would opt for Fortify Sneak items instead. Now using Heavy armor, a pair of Muffled Orcish boots sounded pretty sweet; pun intended.

Same with weaponry, too. Lots of great gear appears for other builds; not so much for the one I am playing at the time. This may have helped lead me to chose to play a Orc warrior of all trades. However, now that I have the weapons and melee market wide open, I seem to be finding several nice staves this time. *shoots Murphey again*

I had this fantasy idea in my head, where magic was becoming extinct because of the invention of firearms.  I think that would play out well.

My orc has stayed in orc armor. With smithing and armor perks you can make any armor into an effective set. Farkas I put in ebony mail, looks quite nice (as in, incredibly hot) on him though I give him a steel helmet so I can see his pretty face.

You do use stamina up quickly, but everything is dead so fast it hardly matters. Though here is where eating stews can help. I keep waiting for Shar to struggle in combat again. She's now level 50ish. Occasionally she gets in trouble (vampires seem to be the biggest threat) but mostly she can hack anything to death in one or two hits. I stopped taking 1H perks because it's too easy, even playing on Expert difficulty. I guess I should put it up to Master.

You can marry Farkas or Vilkas.  Just have to complete the Companion quest line.

Oh, yeah, Skyrim marriage is more of a practical thing than a blush and flirt affair.
