Call me callous, but I'm not the least bit disturbed by soul trapping. I mean sure, it would be cool if my character had the ability to warn bandits and other enemies that their continued attempts to kill me would likely result in their souls being stolen and used for my personal enchanting whims,  And then let them decide their own fates.   But I doubt such a warning would deter them, even as they see a bright glowing Battleaxe coming towards their throats.

Oh well. I guess life's biggest lessons have to be learned the hard way.

And what about Dragons?   As a Dovakiin, you absorb their souls as a matter of instinct.  Is that not equally bad?  I guess not, since dragons are  Evil and usually try to kill you on sight, unlike, say,  Vampires or Bandits.  Right?

???

Not all dragons are evil IMO.

Absorbing dragon souls is involuntary, for one thing.  The dragons are attacking you and it's self defense, for another.  I did think it was sad when I read that they sometimes say "dovahkiin, no!" as they die and realize their soul is being sucked out.

I don't have huge qualms about soul trapping, but I don't do it to ordinary dumb bandits.  Just seems cruel, in case they are actually conscious in there.

@barbarossa, I might try that mod.  It's nice to come across surprises in the wild.  My orc also needs the challenge.

Heh I cant believe a trick I tried worked.

I saw some Thalmor walking on the road and two bears just out of range to attack them.
So I shot an arrow at the bears, than they came in and killed them for me.

[image containing profanity removed]
I want a bear to use as a mount really.

DL'd the "More NPCs in the Wild" Mod.

I couldn't find this, where did you get it?

It's in the Workshop. Just verified it was there. Type "more NPCs" exactly into the Search, both More and Many More NPCs in the Wild should be the only two that show up.

Being on 360, I won't be downloading fan mods or anything, but I have enough fun traveling in the game already.

Hell, the other day I went from that Orc stronghold(involved in one of the Daedric Quests) by Riften, all the way to Solitude, on foot.

Walking.

See the farthest I've ever walked was Whiterun to Solitude on a hunting trip. Got alot of leather though.

heh! My Orc is tough enough to actually stop killing them, and wait for them to make an epic fail, unless they mentioned something about being Orc filth. Then the mittins come off, and love to watch the Death scenes. As others have mentioned, it might not be the brightest move to mention that to a warrior wearing expensive Ebony armors and bearing an assortment of arms bathed in crimson.

Yeah, this is my new low-level warrior. He's only in his teens, level-wise, so he still takes a bit of a beating in most engagements and is still in scavenge mode. But, I like this character. He's much more merciless and grim than his predecessor, and appears to be destined for the Dark Brotherhood.

I actually actively made it my mission to never kill any dragons except those that I am forced to fight. It made an entirely new dynamic to the game for me, at least as the "dohvakin." They are my "bretheren" after all.

Same for a couple of mine. Plus the bonus of watching Dragons clear towers, forts, and ruins of pests is highly entertaining.

Wow that More NPCs mod is crazy. We fought off a small army of Forsworn just outside Windhelm. lol I think they just kept respawning.

^Yeah! I just got hit by four consecutive bandit/Forsworn engagements back-to-back trying to get to Meridia's Statue (trying to p/u Dawnbreaker early on). A lot of two-handed attackers in each that do some real damage. I think the "Many" More NPC would be insane.

Good news is my blocking and one-handed scores are skyrocketing. Luckily I have Lydia set as essential, because vanilla Lydia would have gone down fast during any one of these. Just saw ten Imperials walking peacefully by in column. Of course we are near Solitude. Such a cool mod.

My Stormcloak feels the same way, after befriending Paarthunax and Odahviing. I try to avoid killing dragons, if I can.

I've just started the game for the first time. Going the stealthy sneak type route with an Argonian and having a blast. I love sneak attacking with a bow, which really surprises me, as I'm not generally an archery fan. I just wish there was a perk that would give more than 3x damage with ranged sneak attacks. I've put a lot of hours into it already and it seems I've barely scratched the surface of the game. Very impressed and surprised at this one (I've never played an Elder Scrolls game before). Tons of fun.

You may add Enchantment & Smithing to your gear to improve those numbers, as well as the Archery tier of course.

Considering that at higher Sneak levels the enemies can hardly locate you as you snipe them from afar, more then x3 damage would be probably overpowered.

I'm playing a sniping Heavy Armor Warrior and at first, I thought the same thing...Smithed or Enchanted Bows and Arrows of better materials changed my mind, though...I can one-shot quite a few enemies from a distance now and adding a poison helps increase damage, too...

If i remember correctly there is a perk in sneak on the right side (I think its the 2nd or 3rd one) that does make a bow do 3x sneak damage.
