For aiming, I find the Stealth cursor more to my liking: -- - -- as opposed to *

And while the console commands are very user friendly, they should not be required to complete a quest at this stage. IMO. The locked door was not the only problem, but getting the NPC to continue onward, or say their next line. Thank goodness I am a fan of KZ; thought it was him anyway (ie: 'Your my best Nug Wrangler).

Aiming is A LOT easier for bows than it is for spells. perks like Steady hand and Eagle eye make even  fast-moving targets easy to hit.

They could have had an aiming perk for mages, maybe something in Alteration. Oh well, I look at it as part of the challenge, also once you get AoE spells you wouldn't need it as much.

Aiming magic is another reason I chose to leave Destruction as a main focus, and become a Generalist. Other tactics were less costly; more effective.

You didn't have him disappearing when he entered the temple? How did you get the secret door open?

And I agree it is annoying to have to use the console to continue a quest. I had problems with the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood.

Nope; he was there - had Quick Saved before entering temple, so plenty of time - but after encountering the barrier, he would stop on the stairs, stop in the hall, and even stop at the door until pushed into it.

I felt a bit like Farkas....

Then there was the usual AI Get In the Way, Speed Ahead, etc nonsense. One good thing was with him out front, he was not shoving me off the balcony.

While I did not have to use a console command myself, such OOG machinations should not have to be utilized to continue this quest at this later date. As with some other game stopping bugs, I am willing to wait for a patch or quick walkaround, but it should not be left unattended for this long. IMO.

Who needs accuracy when you have BEAM SPAM and FIRE BALLS.

Yah sure strafe for all the good it will do you I can do it all day!
There is nothing quite like using the master destruction lightning spell to obliterate any mage who challenges you.

I would so download a mod that said "IMMA FIRRIN MAH LAZER!" every time I use that spell.

The master lightning spell is pretty fun to use once you've reduced mana cost to zero. It was the most epic way for me to off Alduin for sure.

Well' I'd say the fact that you can (or must, if you solely focus on destruction and play Master) reduce the casting cost of spells to 0 is a big part of the problem with the spellcasting system.

Yes but its an option you dont have to even use.

You can reduce the cost of casting spells to 0? Nice! I will do that to my current dragonborn. I won't overuse it, of course; my character is also focused on one-handed swords.

While I love Storm Call myself, it is used infrequently due to Friendly Fire. Plus it makes such kills so easy as to lose sight of other tactical options. Remember, this game rewards practice; not success.

While I never got to any of the Destruction augmentaion perks, I had almost everything else lower tier including Impact, and was constantly drained of mana. And while a high level mage may be quite enjoyable zapping away foes to dust, the road getting there is seemingly met with failure, other tactics, and running away. A lot....

Yeah, at least on higher difficulty levels it is seemingly impossible to beat enemies through Destruction only without extreme spell cost reduction. You need to literally spam spells to kill anything. Probably dual-cast for Impact or you'll be dead fast. The only possibility for that outside the cost reducing gear is the Highborn Altmer power - once per day.

I felt like my mage arrived when she got the archmage robe and Morokei. Things could still get dicey but mana was no longer a problem.

It was also device related for me; when I found a ring with 100% Magika Regen.

Are Enchanters able to make such devices? Ones with full Immunity?

You know some days you just cant win.

Somehow my poor level 10 Khajiit rogue got tag teamed by dragons.
Then just before he won...a bunch of thugs showed up to attack him.

Damn there goes 15 minutes.

Who hired the thugs?  And I have yet to see a pair of dragons at that level; not even seen my first at Bleak Falls Barrow.

Hey guys! I've been on a KoA and ME1/ME2 hiatus, but I finished up, and tried out my female Khajiit last night, for pretty much the first time (I stopped at level 2 originally).

I wasn't sure if there would be a different VA for the combat and shouting, but OMG, I was cracking up - there is. My kitty woman sounds like she's sneezing in combat, and when she shouts, 'FUS', it sounds like she's saying 'POOF'. I was mixing poisons, and trying ingredients I knew would cause negative effects intentionally, just to hear her "sneeze".

Hilarious. Khajiit might be my new favorite TES race.

OK, I still love Orcs. You got me. Image IPB

Become a khajit vampire :)

BTW im still confused how about a khajit or argonian turns into werewolf. O_o

@Elhanan,

If you are the sneaky type, and "relocated" some jewelery form pockets or houses. Someone (can never learn his/her name) send thugs after you.

And they were brutal when i leveled up my thief khajit with sneaking/pickpocket. Maybe tried 30 times to kill them...

Thugs often have notes in their pockets telling who hired them. A certain witch and small lad in the Riverwood area are infamous for such hires.

Steam just updated my Skyrim to 1.04.27. So.... they put out a new patch. Neat. I wonder what it fixes/changes/breaks.

How do you tell which version you have? Have not noticed.

Any decisions on the next Dragonborn yet?

Imagine if a Khajiit/Argonian Dragonborn wouldn't initially be allowed into cities and would have to find alternate ways into the city and even then, try and avoid guards as much as possible... at least until (s)he acquires enough fame... *remembers playing Bloodlines with a Nosferatu*

When you're playing your game, hit the  ESC button, then look at the bottom left hand corner of the screen.   In small numbers you'll see:  1.04.27.04

Elhanan wrote...Any decisions on the next Dragonborn yet?

Oh yes.  And  he's already   20th level.

He's a Nord.  He's Stealthy and uses daggers and magic.    Personality wise, he's  turning out to be my  most evil Dragonborn yet.  At 5th level, he made a B-line to Windhelm to get the Dark Brotherhood questline started.  Now he lives in Riften and is accepting every single Thieves guild job available.    He will eventually sell his soul to Nocternal,  help assist Boethiah's plans, and perhaps become Namira's Champion.  Oh and He's married to Sapphire, thanks to mods.

The internet would quake with upset players whining about how  playing Argonians and Khajits 'sucks', and eventually Steam would be crawling with mods that allow your Lizard or Cat to  "go anywhere hassle free"

Vampire: Bloodlines was not a game for the masses.  Unlike Skyrim, which  somehow manages to  attract everyone  from age 10 to age 50+
