Huh I heard an rumor that if you drop a jewel where a bandit sees it they can get into a fight over it.

Kept trying to do that but nothing.
Much more fun to arrow them through the noggin anyway.

Indeed.   Although They don't need to be bandits, and it doesn't need to be a gem.

Go to Riften. And drop a "fine clothes" on the street in front of a bunch of people during the day. a Brawl will ensue.  And the scene is Hilarious to watch.

In my game, I saw the otherwise even-keeled Priestess of Mara, take on Haelga from the  Bunkhouse in a magic filled fist fight to the death.... over some clothes.    It was like being at Walmart  the day after thanksgiving  lol

The latter, I think.

I thought the same thing. I tried it out, and it seems like the Dragonborn can kill Thonar Silver-Blood once he rewards the protagonist and the quest completes. Thonar seems to change his tune towards the protagonist - thanking him for killing Madanach, and he seems to have a more friendly disposition (towards the Dragonborn, at least). Even his brother makes note of how helpful the protagonist has been (addressing that Thonar told him that the protagonist helped out the family). In retrospect, I suspect that Thonar didn't want to end up like Madanach.

I believe it's level 40. As long as the NPC hasn't been decapitated and is below level 40, I believe they can be reanimated with the spell.

Wow! 100 mods?

And I thought I was being a radical experimenter extrordinaire because I just got up to 10.

For me  the real issue seems to be the 32bit XP system, which limits accessible memory to something like 3,2 GB. The highest resolution graphic mods and the official High-Res Texture Pack DLC in particular keep crashing because of this limitation and running out of memory.

I'm pretty sad about it, because I find the official High-Res textures much better then any custom mods, which I currently use.

What do you mean by "not enuff"?

If you are experiencing a lot of CTDs, it could be related to problems with the navmesh bug in some of your mods, or mod conflicts, or possible bad scripts in a mod, which can remain in your savegame even if you delete the mod and unsubscribe.

One company embraces modders and encourages them by releasing a creation kit.

Others companies hate modders and go to great lengths to make sure they are excluded; can't have anyone doing stuff for free, can they? Anything that cuts into potential DLC/cash shop profits is bad bad bad!

Wish more games were like Skyrim....open world sandbox ftw. And after you complete it, there is 1000s of user made mods/content to play around with thus extending it's life immensely.

I think giving players the ability to mod their games as been very beneficial for the company. New Vegas even seemed to be designed with some of the mods for Fallout 3 in mind.

I was curious (mostly speculation), does anyone think the Greybeards would recognize Dark Brotherhood attire? I'm not addressing game mechanics, but hypothetically speaking about whether the Greybeards would recognize it or not. They seem to be fairly isolated from the rest of the world.

I think I've had a change of heart regarding the Civil War. I just beat Battle for Solitude again - but now, I just can't shake this feeling that this was the "wrong" thing to do.

I might favor Ulfric and his cause, but the Stormcloaks winning the war just doesn't sit well with me - seems like things can only get worse for Tamriel now that there's no united front (for the time being at least) to hold out against the Dominion.

It's obvious the Imperials have no love for the Thalmor, so it's not like siding with the Empire is to side with the Dominion - and is not letting a few people get dragged off to suffer at Thalmor hands worth compromising the safety and stability of all?

I think I'm gonna have to give the Empire the benefit of the doubt on my next game - I sympathize with the Stormcloaks, but this just feels like the "right" thing to do in the end.

I was hoping for DLC word at PAX but obviously they're not ready. Grrr.

@greengoron, there is no united front no matter what you do. Even if Skyrim is subdued, morale in Nord legions is going to be very low and good luck recruiting. High Rock has always been divisive with their little baronies and principalities and I wouldn't be surprised if there will be civil uprisings there and in Cyrodiil as well. Hammerfell is not going to bestir itself for Cyrodiil again without a lot of incentive. No matter what happens in Skyrim, there is no empire any longer.

No, they've been around in Summurset Isle a long time, it's only after the Oblivion crisis that they came to power.

True, but that doesn't mean they aren't the Dwemer. The Dwemer vanished and nobody knows what became of them.

Just throwing it out there as interesting speculation. Can't wait to see what Bethesda has in store...the Thalmor are fascinating

Well, unless that theory takes into account that  ALL Dwemer decided to simultaneously shave their beards  to mark  the  end of the 1st era, As well as radically change their nature and culture from being Reclusive, fortress-building geniuses, to  being annoying meddlers who  totally suck at building fortresses, and that Bethesda decided to  toss a major lore-based deception into the franchise, and then maintain it flawlessly for a decade, (We're told in countless in game references, including books that They're Altmer, not Dwemer.  Because the Dwemer are gone), I just don't see it.

And Dwemer Automations still exist, and still function. If you were a Thalmor Dwemer guy, wouldn't you want to be using those things, instead of sullying your hands directly dealing with the primitives of Skyrim? I know I would.

I'm expecting a future TES game to deal with the return of the Dwemer - an event that will not be as wondrous as starry-eyed scholars might think. All evidence points to the Dwemer having been a ruthless and overly ambitious race, and their return would likely result in complete pandemonium.

As for the Empire - I understand the Empire remains weakened either way, but siding with the Stormcloaks at this time just feels like a big mistake, and would obviously result in an even weaker Empire as it would cut them off to Skyrim's numerous resources. There needs to be some form of unity among the people of Tamriel - unity Ulfric and the Stormcloaks can't seem to inspire in anyone but the Nords.

A large force of Dwemers(who have become more powefull/twisted/and mabe half mechanized) with Falmers at their side, also automotons and brainwashed slaves.
Sounds good enough for me.

I've only really got into Skyrim, and ignored the other TES games,so don't crucify me when I ask this. What exactly happened to the Dwarves/Dwemer?
