I'm a pretty good Alchemist myself. I have a treasure trove of magicka potions of various sorts and strengths, as well as health...at my disposal at anytime for free. I make them, store them, and add them into my inventory if I ever get too low.

I am the ruler of Skyrim. Ulfric Stormcloak is my puppet.

I never could get into Alchemy - it's so damn tedious and slow to level up, and I hardly ever used it regardless except for poison-making. Healing and magicka potions are already aplenty by simply raiding dungeons or robbing stores and houses.

Destruction is another one I don't care for much - it, too, is slow as hell to level up and I rarely need it for anything, except maybe the occasional rune. Most Shouts are just as good if not better than Destruction spells IMHO.

I don't do alchemy for the purpose of making potions that I will be using  (mainly because the stuff you actually find will be far more powerful than what you can make). Nor do I spam alchemy in order to level up (it's the slowest of the 'trade' skills to level.  You'll die of boredom before getting it to 100).   No.  I do Alchemy for  one reason: $$$. You really *can* make a living from the very start of the game, by making potions then selling them.

I just made a Fortify Health potion worth about 1200 gold and then  sold it to the Fence at the Thieves guild. I'll probably make about 20  more, then use the money to buy Proudspire Manor,  Or training, or some other massive bank-breaking purchase

I find Destruction to be a decent set of secondary spells; for killing things like Frost Spiders and remove webbing, and the Cloak spells are helpful But it falls short of a well made longbow.

The only magic skill I find useful is Conjuration - summoning Daedra and reanimating dead enemies has proven to be highly useful, as has Soul Trapping for Enchantment (always chuckle a bit when I read or say that - LOL). Both are also pretty easy to raise as well.

On a side note - not sure why Vivienne Onis from Solitude isn't marriageable - she's better looking than Muiri (or is at least more suited to my tastes) and flirts with my character every time I talk to her.

Just one more NPC that should be available for marriage but isn't for some reason or another. Pfft.

Aah, the old complaint about why you can't Marry X. I don't have that problem anymore, as a few weeks ago I downloaded the excellent "marry & divorce anyone" mod.

Haelga doesn't work at Haelga's Bunkhouse anymore. She works at home. My home :)

LOL. Haelga, eh? You must like flexible women who have a fetish for Daedric boots and like doing it in the stables.

I can think of a lot of NPCs that really ought to have been marriageable, but aren't - it annoys me that Bethesda gave us as limited a selection as we got. Just off the top of my head, I can think of:

Vivienne Onis
Saadia
Carlotta Valentia
Lynly Star-Sung
Ingun Black-Briar

Too bad you can't force NPC marriage on the 360 - shameful, is what it is.

my ex-girlfriend pranked me by making my character marry Ysolda. I've gotta get the divorce mod.

Bethesda apparently twitted a pic of Ulfric Derpcloak in a Thalmor prison. And the word "tomorrow".

Haven't been able to play for the past couple of days, anyone know everything that's on the patch they released a week ago?

Lots of kick ass new "messy kills" (including ones with archery and magic), and the ability to marry Lydia are what I've found so far.

As for "tomorrow" - it's a good thing I haven't sided with anyone in the Civil War yet on my current run (though I'm still leaning heavily on the Legion). Whatever they release tomorrow could determine which side is the "right" side.

EDIT: Here, android - a complete list of all the stuff patch 1.5 adds and changes:

Dunno. We won't find out until tomorrow. :P

It appears to have to do with Ulfric Stormcloak and the Thalmor - it could be a new DLC expanding on the Civil War questline.

Hmm. I've been holding off too, though I'm fairly certain I'm headed for the Imperial side.

Wasn't she also the same one that "collected" Horker tusks in her bedroom? Ewwww.

And OMG, what? New DLC? *opens purse*

I figure the announcement will be about Dishonored, which is coming out in May. However they did say that Skyrim and Rage fans would have something to look forward to in April. Apparently someone on the interwebz did a scan/ highlight of the photo and thinks they see a figure in Thalmor robe on the right hand side of the shot. That seems sketchy to me and it doesn't look like Ulfric at all.

Naturally my little fangirl heart would burst from glee if that's what it is, but I'm not getting any hopes up.

edit:  Pete Hines tweet to someone asking about a Skyrim DLC... "you know, we do make other games besides Skyrim :)"  So my money is on Dishonored.

What about that pic gives you the impression that it's Ulfric?

Simply because they are both blond? Looks nothing like him IMO.

I'll take Incinerate over a longbow anytime.

If it is Ulfric, won't that effect players who sided with the Imperials?

I hope it has to do with the Psijiic Order
