I find that horses have a much higher mortality for me than they did in Oblivion. Of course for the most part it is better not to use them anyway.

What do people think about the Psijic Order? They get involved in the College of Winterhold, and they seem to have advised leaders throughout history (and it seems like they have gotten involved at times directly, such as the Psijic Order being credited with destroying King Orgunum's fleet when he tried to take over the Summerset Isles). Given their knowledge about the Eye of Magnus, I was wondering if people had any thoughts about the group.

Celarus the Loremaster provided information on the Psijic Order and their beliefs in "The Old Ways." The College storyline seemed (to me) like the narrative was intended for a mage protagonist, and the College storyline comes off a lot better as a bonafide mage (in my humble opinion). It seems like they would try to steer a mage Dovahkiin on the "right" course, as they have a history of guiding leaders (or a potential leader, in the case of the Dragonborn).

I read some of their background, I think it was in the PGE on Summurset Isles and something from the history of the 4th Era.  They withdrew from Altmer society to get away from political infighting, and for a long time no one saw or heard from them, but in recent years they have been re-appearing to recruit new, younger members.  So it seems like they are planning something.  I hope they will figure in the coming takedown of the Thalmor.  But now that they have the Eye of Magnus, they could potentially be an even greater danger to Tamriel.

Or they could just be turning it into a new disco ball and being using it at their rave parties.
Just saying.

Did Todd Howard or anybody tip off how many expansion dlcs they are considering?

If they make two the size of Shivering Isles, I'll be a happy, happy Sajji

I assume they will make more than one.

And the first one will reportedly be "about the size of Point Lookout or a little bigger"

What's Point Lookout, and how big is it exactly?

It was the biggest DLC for FO3 - here is the map:

I have no idea if this has been shown here before, but has anyone heard of the player house (mod of course) The Asteria? It's a flying ship. No, really.

Looks absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, you can't actually fly it at the moment, it seems stationary. But it still looks really cool.

Not everyone's into post-apocalyptic atmospheres.

So how long was "point lookout"?

Well it was an open world kind of area, so I'm sure it varied a lot for different people.

If you spent time exploring every nook and cranny and trying to find all the secret loot stashes and moonshine recipes or whatever, it could last perhaps 20 hours. On the other hand, you could just go through and do the main quest of Point Lookout and promptly leave the area.

Point Lookout.

Where mutated inbred hicks with shotguns were more dangerous than the Enclave.
Because each pellet in a shotgun if it did a critical hit did the FULL damage of the entire shot.

God damn I was glad I had my stealth suit.
And Deathclaw Gauntlent.

Does anyone here know if merchants keep unique items? I sold Cicero's armor, but now realize I need it...

I don't believe so, no - their inventories reset after 24 hours, and I think all items you sold them disappear.

Man...

thanks. I just found a mod called Enchanting Freedom that will allow me to enchant the backstab bouble-sneak bonus--but I have to disenchant it first from the gloves/greaves/whatever you'd call them.

I have the traditional DB gloves, but if  disenchant them my mannequin will look horrible! *sigh* oh well...

You can find another set of that thats better in a sidequest actully, its from a the fortuneteller lady, that is if you got the gem while in the DB from the Dark Elf's mission.

I actually already got that one too...

And I sold it. I really have no idea why--I have like 95,000 gold that I pretty much literally have no use for. Maybe I wanted to keep a clean closet.

You can get more than one set of DB armor IIRC - there's an extra set of regular Shrouded Armor in the Falkreath Sanctuary (if it hasn't been destroyed yet), and "ancient" Shrouded Armor in Deepwood Redoubt (if you took Gabriella's token to Olava)

I advise keeping the Ancient Shrouded Armor and disenchanting any of the regular sets, as the Ancient version is far more powerful.

EDIT: Ouch... nevermind on the Ancient version of the armor - looks like you're out of luck unless the Falkreath Sanctuary still stands.

^ Yeah, far too late for that.

Maybe I'll try travelling back to the destroyed sanctuary and seeing if you can get in. I never went back so I don't know.

You can, but I don't know if the armor is still there or not - it's worth a try.

When I get home I will. Here's hoping.

I always found the other things on that shelf--like the glowing shoes and hat and gloves--to be rather funny-looking. I can't imagine why you'd wear something like that, unless you were a pure mage.

And even then, I don't know, I haven't studied up on it, but are there any penalties for heavier armor? There don't seem to be, and you could enchant them with whatever you wanted.

So, yeah, light clothes for anything other than RP confuse me a bit.

Heavy armor is difficult to use if you're trying to play a stealthy character - unless you happen across the Steed Stone, in which case your armor is rendered weightless.

Furthermore, Ebony Mail muffles movement and makes you harder to detect in general - so all that is needed for Heavy armor users is patience.

That said, I've been using Light armor on my current run, and I've found it useful so far. It seems to level up quicker than Heavy armor, and several of the best sets of armor in the game are all light (Nightingale in particular is awesome).
