I think Skyrim looks great on the 360. Developers are at a point where they are really pushing the system near the limit of its potential. Will be a pleasant surprise if Bethesda finally shows off Skyrim in all its glory on the PC at QuakeCon. /wishful thinking

The real surprise will be if it actually looks better than the Xbox version. :P

No public demo?! Rage. Though, I really couldn't see a demo version of Skyrim. Then again, they had a New Vegas demo at QuakeCon....

I'm sure an official public demo is coming soon. But at E3 they showed us some good 15-20 minutes of the half-hour demo shown. Combat looks very satisfying this time, of course that's in appearance and not gwmeplay. Magicka looks particularly improved, but with a slew of new combat features, including effects from the wonderfully upgraded third-person and dragon shouts...not being able to quickly run backwards and finishing moves, it looks very, very fun.

In the one part, an NPC Howard encountered ran away from him once he freed him from a spider web and he just goes up and sticks a glass longsword right through his back and out his belly.

In another part, he's fighting undead 'Dragr', hammering them with a flame spray spell in one hand and electricity in another, then backs up and releases a shout that knocks a bunch down.

He also slows time in one part, and also created a 'Circle of Protection' they didn't want any part of (while also shocking them as they ran.

Check it out if you haven't. It's g4 e3 demo on YouTube

heres the link for the demo http://planeteldersc...yrim-now-online:D

Ah!!!! Fresh screenshots!!! The one by the lake is my favorite!

It's going to take a long, long, long time just to explore the MOUNTAINS in this game.

I just wanna go exploring right now. I explore the map in sections, and I'm so starting up north

I usually just run around in lines, or kind of box the map. Like I'll start south and run north, and then I'll run east, and then south, and then west, and do a complete circle around the outside of the map, and then run in a smaller circle, until I completely close into the center point of the map.

We do it real similarly...I like your way a lot cause it gives a lot of variety, especially in this game because the landscapes are going to vary so much. In Oblivion I started west, went north, south and worked east.

It's a really small detail, but it would be really helpful to have some sort of indication in the map to let us know if we were in a particular 'dungeon' already or not. Just something really small to let us know "ok...I've explored that one already". Lol.

If not, I'm going to scribble tons of notes this time.

haha i've planned to make my own potions and poison note book and then sort them out in a little organic book made from bannana leaves i got from one of my holidays:O

I heard something about DX11 support but who knows for all we know it could be in the game and do almost nothing just like in DA2.

Hey? you know how the count of skingrade is a vampire (i.e. immortal), well you think there could be a chance that he's in skyrim, it obviously wont be a big part but i think it would be pretty funny if you hear somebody mention him or even if there's a little side quest were he's a tramp or something just in hiding. =P

that would be good, or even just mention him being found out and killed by the towns people.

Im guessing shes an important npc.  Considering the dragon armour and the tiara.   However just seeing it make me hope that my Skyrim protagonist can wear one!! It looks fantastic!!

It's been confirmed in the fan interview that dragon armor is the most prized and rarest armor in the game and the PC can craft it.

Or you can just try to kill this woman with the tiara and take hers...:bandit:

How could it possibly not look better at 1920x1080 or higher resolution, with high res textures, 16 x AF, 16 x AA, high quality shadows, SSAO, high detail settings and draw distance, compared to 1280x720 on Xbox with low res textures, low detail settings, no AF and perhaps 2 x AA?

Interesting take on the dragon armor. I was hoping for soemthing leathery made from their scales or wings and wasn't really expecting it to be made from their bones. Has it been confirmed if we can make weapons from their bones too?

Doesn't look like a Nord.

I'm guessing she's either the leader of a Dragonslayer cult, or a Dragon worshipping cult (Mythic Dawn redux).

It would be good with blacksmithing you could make dragonbone armour like a full set of one from morrowind but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm glad they decided to stick with the plantigrade beast races. Of course, I already knew they would stay with it after Oblivion, but with so many people calling to have Morrowind's bad design back I was getting a little worried.

How was the Morrowind design bad?

It made the khajiit and agonians actually look like proper seperate races instead of just being reskins of the others.

I'm not sure I follow - Matt Carofano has already confirmed that we will be able to make a full set of heavy or light "dragon armor," which I'm taking to mean dragon "bone" since it doesn't appear that any scales remain when you absorb the dragon souls.

No demo does not phase me. Somehow I think I'll manage a few months. I've got enough games from the Steam sale, plus deadlines of my own.

There could be many purposes for the corpses of dragons. Obviously armor, maybe weapons, but also alchemical ingredients and trophies.

It'd be pretty neat to have racks full of the skulls of all the dragons I slay. Have the skull be a collectible with a very high inventory weight

Not sure why people expected a demo in the first place...not like there was a demo for Fallout 3 (if there was I would have saved my money) or Oblivion.

From what I heard there will be a private demo, mainly for reviewers etc. I'm sure a Pirate will see to it it finds its way online.

Some fans are getting confused about the meaning of the word demo.

I don't think anybody (or very few people, if any) expected a public, playable demo that you can download via Steam.

Many people did, however, expect a public release of the complete video for the 45-minute Park City demo or the 30-minute E3 demo.

when Craig Lafferty said they could never do a "public demo," obviously he was talking about a downloadable, playable public demo.  He was not referring to the complete demo video being released to the public. I think we will see that at QuakeCon, or at the very least more demo footage.

Yes, instead Khajiit and Argonians were proper reskins of each other.

Anyway, Argonians were plantigrade in Arena and Daggerfall, then Morrowind comes out and I find out that my favorite race can't wear full helms, can't wear any kind of foot armor, and in a game that's already full of terrible animations they get the derpiest ones.

The design also doesn't make sense biologically. Lizards don't have digitigrade legs, and dinosaurs like the Raptor used its tail to balance on their legs. The Argonian tail is used to propel themselves forward while swimming, while on land it just hangs downward, so they're not using it for balance.
