Heavy armor is difficult to use if you're trying to play a stealthy character - unless you happen across the Steed Stone, in which case your armor is rendered weightless.
Furthermore, Ebony Mail muffles movement and makes you harder to detect in general - so all that is needed for Heavy armor users is patience.
That said, I've been using Light armor on my current run, and I've found it useful so far. It seems to level up quicker than Heavy armor, and several of the best sets of armor in the game are all light (Nightingale in particular is awesome).
Ah, I see.
I'm a sneaky character, and I prefer light, so that's what I've always done, but I've done it based on the thought that I COULD have much stronger armor on.
...and, I guess the same logic could be applied to clothes and robes.

Speaking of which, does anyone know what the highest "level" is for armor? I have a couple of pieces that are "legendary" and a couple that are "flawless." I'm not sure which is better, though my smithing is at 100 and the best I can currently improve is "legendary."

^ Yes, you can make pretty much any armor batter.

There are actually several "levels" of Legendary - your armor rating can go all the way up to 567 (I think) if you reach the highest "level" of it.
Though you would need to use Blacksmith potions and enchantments to get it that high IIRC.

Oh, okay. That's what I was wondering--basically if 100 was the smithing max for improving items.

Does anyone here know if merchants keep unique items? I sold Cicero's armor, but now realize I need it...
I did Halladir's Cairn at level 3 and got his staff. Sold it to the trader in Riverwood. Now I'm 60th level and went back there. He still has the damn thing in his inventory for sale.
Ditto with the Ghostblade, as well as Webbajack. Sell those items to any merchant and they'll remain in their stock forever.
Not sure about Cicero's armor. it might not be "unique" enough.

I've even got a special collection of items that aren't "unique", per se - I'm an evil bastard, so I collect the armor of my enemies and display them on mannequins, and also trap some of them in black soul gems and hold on to them as trophies.
I had General Tullius' outfit on display in Hjerim in my last game, as well as the blade Ulfric gave me to slay him - it was pretty grim, but awesome at the same time.
Anyway... yeah, don't get rid of unique items - keep them as trophies at least.

To me it had a Civil War, antebellum south kind of atmosphere alongside the Cold War intrigue stuff. I guess technically you are south of the Mason Dixon line there...Confess-A-Bear wrote...
Whats funny about point lookout and the hicks, least to me is its in Maryland.
It was fun. Probably my favorite of the Fallout 3 DLCs. Skyrim's expansion being the same size doesn't say a whole lot to me, though. I guess I would expect it to be good sized, considering FO3 and FNV's post-release content. PL didn't seem all that huge to me, and it's what you do in the space that matters. Fallout New Vegas- Old World Blues was probably a similar size but it was packed with unique locations.

Hmm technically it is and isn't. Culturally its far removed from the south now for the most, but historically it falls into the region. Like to Most Experts opinions like North Carolina would be the most northern located Southern state with the souther area's of Va. Oddly enough Missouri is now while geographically not considerd such, it is largely cultrually a Southern State. We have to keep in mind though that Fallouts universe and ours differ wildly in around the 1950's onwards.
But enough of that Apperantly the stuff there thats confederate like comes from the Carolina's surviving regions. Given costal trade. Apperantly the area is very militarized. Mind you I have no proof of this, minus the things that boat guy says and some tid bit "maybes" in other sources like the fallout bible.

Or at least I hope it is since kicking those buggers in the face never gets old.
Or just punching one of them in the face, then calling in a dragon.
Or...you get the point.
Its almost funny late game how it takes longer to decide what to kill your foe with then to actually kill them.

Unfortunately, the mod I was trying to use would not work, I even re-downloaded it through the nexus (as opposed to through Steam). So I searched a little bit and found another mod, but it won't work with the gloves. It WILL work with the assassin gauntlets, though, so at least I have something. Gonna look around for other mods though. I really want to keep that armor intact if possible.

It's a shame that we can't kill Elenwen.
Speaking of the Thalmor, why is the Thalmor Headquarters in Solitude empty? I would have thought, with the Empire having a strong presence in Solitude, that the Thalmor would be present in their own HQ. It was a little disappointing to find it empty during the Battle for Solitude.

I almost feel bad fighting bandits at level 60.
I mean full Daedric plate, Spell Breaker, and Dragonsbane dont leave much in their path.
Also walked up to say Paarthurnax and gave him a bro-fist.

I hope the DLC has us taking over the empire. After all, the Septim emperors all had the dragon blood. No reason that shouldn't continue.

Besides, I look like a boss when wearing the crown with Dragon armor - and neither Ulfric or Elisif even wear the damn thing. So gimme dat crown - I'll forge a new Empire and lead the charge against the Aldmeri Dominion myself.

I am so powerful, such a relentless force of pure magicka, that those elves will beg for mercy when I gut their soul and let them burn a slow death as they lay paralyzed and can do nothing while their skin melts off their skeleton. I will then necro their pathetic hollow shells and their corpses will do my bidding.

I would rather overthrow Ulfric and take the Jagged Crown for myself - I'd go back to siding with the 'cloaks if I could do that.

See you think too small. I mean why not wear two hats? I mean you get to kill his royal majesty. Be the High King of Skyrim and the Emperor. Then burn the thalmor to the ground, savage there lands, rape there women folk, make them dread ever leaving there lands.
