Is there a mod that removes the sound that appears whenever you're near a dungeon/cave? I'd rather use my eyes only to discover them. On that note, can anyone here suggest some "must have mods" to enhance my Skyrim experience? I already have my sights on magic scaling with skill level and deadlier traps, but any other help would be appreciated greatly.

Waited too long to get to experience this game properly on the PC.

I'd suggest the "Wealthy Merchants" mod..  It gives every town and city merchant 2000 gold.  That's *just* enough gold to insure  that after a dungeon run, you don't have to  travel to multiple cities, or wait for 3 days to sell all your excess loot.

Also, if you're an archer  -  There's the Craftable  arrows mod.  Which is something that should have been in the game in the first place.

It's dumb that they didn't make arrows craftable in the base game. I think that smithing in general was poorly implemented.

There's also a quest in Riften where an Argonian woman comes up to you and demands you take something from her and return it. You return it to the building that you have to enter to then enter Blackreach.
Well, one of the buildings.

Wait, I have done that quest, but as far as I know that was just in another Dwemer ruin? How did I miss that was Blackreach?

It's not Black Reach.  It has an *entrance* to black reach.  But  you won't be able to use that enterance until you get one of the quests to actually do so.  It's also not the only enterance  to blackreach.  There are 3 other Dwemer  Dungeons with Enterances to black reach, as well as several more "elevator lifts"  scattered throughout  skyrim.

Oh and you won't "miss" Black reach.  lol.  Once you're there, you'll know it.  It's utterly unlike anything in the game, or any other game.  It's got mushrooms the size of buildings littering its landscape.

That was a bit stupid honestly. I mean you can build swords, hammers, weapons and armor that use the hearts of demon like creatures, but try and build an arrow?

*gets smacked* YOU FOOL BUILDING ARROWS IS A SKILL LOST TO US FOREVER!!!! There is no way you can take bits of metal, sticks and feathers with string and make arrows! That is just a myth, now buy these arrows from me!

I just use Iron/Ancient Nord/Steel arrows and am perfectly happy.

I kind of like Farkas' line.  "A cave.  Dark.  Dangerous."  Wolfman, master of the obvious.  LOL

So I had a total WTF! moment just now.

Here I was riding along from Riverwood, going to just check out how some mods worked....
Then just past the first Stones you see after Helgen....

BAM! I found a Talos Shrine....and THIS!
Image IPB

Murdered by a Thalmor agent while at prayer.....
I just...nothing the empire or stormcloaks do or have done is singly that disgusting. He snuck up on people simply praying AND KILLED THEM!

Here is the note on the bastard's corpse to prove it to!
Image IPB

I knew the Thalmor were evil...but its on now.
Damn if only this file had Dead Thrall on it....my mage does though....I think dear Sanyon is going to have a very fruitful life as a naked meat shield thrown at Thalmor agents for a good while.

It's funny because there's an Altmer necromancer at Namira's feast called Sanyon - I wondered if they might be the same person, but that would mean the Thalmor you see at the Talos shrine is someone else (and why the hell would he have that note?).

More than likely it's just a coincidence, or an oversight by the developers.

Maybe Sanyon is the Altmer equivalent of "Michael"  :wizard:

LOL. Anything is possible, I guess.

Anyway, speaking of Namira's feast - I've been using Eola as a follower for a while, and I'm now fully convinced she's the best follower in the game. She just blows s*** up with fireballs and lightning bolts left and right, and never gets in the way or rushes headlong into danger like a lot of other followers tend do.

Also, Conjure Dremora Lord is probably the best spell in the game - between me, Eola, the Imperial Captain (who is a surprisingly capable warrior), the Fire Atronach Eola summons, and the Dremora Lord, we pretty much slaughter all in our path.

And much to my surprise, the Ring of Namira is actually quite useful - the health and stamina boosts have served me well, even if it does require me to choke down my enemies' entrails (still not very thrilled with the prospect of that).

Unfortunately, I think I'm running out of fuel on Skyrim for real this time - enthralling the Imperial Captain gave me a boost, but the novelty is wearing off. I'm looking at character builds for The Witcher 2 now and will probably finally get around to playing that shortly.

Lol, that was the reason for my confusion. I've heard some things about Black Reach, and I didn't understand how I could not have known I was there. xD But I suppose those entrances are the mechanisms I "lack the required item" for. I really have to start the main quest some time now and actually go through with it.

Just north of Ysgramor's Tomb, there's a cave on a small island called Septimus Signus' Outpost - going there and talking to Septimus starts a Daedric quest that will allow you to access part of Blackreach early.

Now I haven't actually been there yet myself - I was waiting until I got to the part of the main quest where I had to go there anyway, and do both quests at once. But if you're curious about Blackreach, that's how you can get to it without bothering with the main quest just yet.

Hooray! I knew you'd see the light! Eola is more than just another pretty face! Image IPB

The ring of Namira is quite powerful, as well. I used that for quite a while in my last playthrough, and strangely enough, even after I unequipped it, I continued to reap the benefits. It's been a while since I played, though. Hopefully that hasn't been fixed.

Meh I kill her everytime. Don't care to munch on people, and I only make deals with the Deadra when there is no choice. And only then with the real powerful ones, so that unless we have a DLC where I can be a god like the Champion became sheo, then they all will have to fight a war for my soul, which will be rather amussing to watch, also I've pissed off a few of them, like Dagon.

^ Do you also kill Cicero? He's also one of my favorite followers, but it seems like most people kill him. His banter is most amusing. Image IPB

Heh, I'm playing a sociopath on my current playthrough, so working with Daedric Princes and nomming on peoples' innards isn't above my Dragonborn - nor is murdering Silus and Erandur.

Hell, I even joined the Legion and I still kill Imperial soldiers and free Stormcloak prisoners if I encounter them on the roads - and Titus Mede is still gonna get his throat slit, even though I swore an oath to serve him and his Empire.

Cannibalism, Daedra worship, necromancy, robbery, betrayal, murder - maybe I should start calling my character the "Wolf King" (it'd fit since he's also a werewolf on top of everything else).

Ah, and Eola also "joined" the Legion along with me - I killed a few Imperial soldiers and outfitted her with Light armor and a sword. Me, Eola, and the Imperial Captain make quite the trio as we summon Atronachs and shoot lightning at fools in true Legionnaire style.

Hmm, I suspect that it is quite possible she's just oppurtunistic in having all her meals/enemies flame broiled before she eats them. ^_^

No I let him live. I mean I run the Dark Brotherhood, the ghost assassin told me not too, and normally I find its wise to listen to people that have been damned to a fate like that wise to listen to. Plus I may need an arrow shield.

Also speaking of helping others, that dude in Dragons Reach I killed his wife for him and tsk tsk tsk, he didn't say thank you, hell he hasn't even noticed. I mean shes been dead in the house on top of the table for several days now.

Man, I just can't imagine killing poor Cicero - he's also one of my favorite characters in the game. I haven't taken him or the Dark Brotherhood Initiates as followers yet though - I actually spend long periods of time without followers and have only ever cycled between a handful of them when I do take them (mainly Lydia or Jenassa, sometimes supplemented with Barbas).

I feel sad that I wiped out the cannibals know.

So I am just pissing off Daedra left and right.

Mehrunes Dagon? No dagger, and I tossed his mooks off the cliff and looted his temple.
Namira? Wiped out lots of her followers and totaled a feast.
Boethiah? Killed her followers and left her quest to rot
Mephala? I tossed her sword into the sea
Molag Bal? I killed that priest quickly in the wilds and left his mace to rust
Vaermina? Let Erandur toss the staff back to Oblivion.

Damn I basically should join those Stendarr chaps at this rate.
Although it is kind of fun to just flip off half a pantheon.

My husband killed Cicero in his one playthrough, and was quite bummed about it later, when he saw how things shook out in my game. I guess he was mesmerized by Astrid or something. Anyway, I always help him out at Loreius' farm, pretty much immediately, so that he's more cordial when I bump into him later at the DB.

I also couldn't imagine killing him. He's too funny, and looks hilarious in that skin-tight DB armor.

"Let's kill someone!"

Actully a friend of mine looks alot like Cicero, uses a jester hat as his moniker. Just as crazy as well. Though more of a "Lets throw fake blood soaked stuffed animals off a bridge into passing cars!" than lets go kill people. But last I seen of him and given he's vanished wouldn't surprise me if he went to that.
