Yo Dawg, I heard you like announcements, so here's an announcement for an announcement, so you got an announcement while you wait for yo's announcement.

LOL Exactly.

I have no idea what the glowy eyes means.  Can the dovahkiin be even more speshul than she already is?  My guess is that the DLC has something to do with the "dawn magicks" the Thalmor are said to have used.

So far leading theories are:

Having ties to Dawnstar
Having ties to Meridia and Dawnbreaker
having ties to the Thalmor "dawn magic" like Addai said
Or having ties to the Mythic Dawn

However none of those seem to have any bearing on the Falmer/CROSSBOWS that were leaked in the patch files. If they even have anything to do with one another.

Added to it...Oblivion's DLC was not tied into its main setting very much, and more expanded on stuff we did not do ....argh

I will just wait for E3 then since I am giving myself a headache.

Hmph. It isn't telling us anything we didn't already know, honestly - we've known they trademarked Dawnguard for a while now. All they did was confirm it was a TES property, which everyone already suspected anyway.

I'm guessing it's related to vampires - that would make sense considering the DLC's name, the Dragonborn's vampiric eyes, and is also consistent with some vampire-related files found in the last update (in addition to the Snow Elf stuff).

Maybe it's has to do with vampires AND Falmer - or perhaps Snow Elves who are also vampires? That would be an interesting twist, indeed.

I doubt its vampires given those eyes look like the Sun. Vampires are kinda a pale lifeless white.

Wait... the eyes are pale lifeless white? No way:

Image IPB

(ignore the bottom eyes - they're part of some mod)

On the other hand, they're not glowing either - and it's also possible the DLC has nothing to do with either Falmer or vampires, and we were just overanalyzing the stuff in the patch.

I guess we'll find out for sure next month.

Bethesda announcing an announcement. I'm slightly disappointed, but I can wait, it's not as if I had already done all quests (haven't even touched civil war, dark brotherhood or companions yet).

Saw this on official forums and posted it here: Bethesda brainstorming the DLC announcement

*waves hand*

You will stop doing all other quests and do the Dark Brotherhood questline at once.

Also, major lulz at that pic - whoever made that is a genius.

*shrugs* was in the older games. Or I might be thinking of werewolves. I kill all undead as soon as I see them unless I can't and never look them in the eyes. Highly doubt it deals with vampires though or the player being one. ES isn't one to force something like that.

Yes master!

Will finish thieves guild first, then will go for DB.

That pic made me laugh a lot. At least, was not the only one thinking "what, is that all?" when clicking on the DLC announcement on Bethblog.

Yes, yes, yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dawnguard was right all along. This expansion will prob be bigger than most other games. Here's to hoping something the size of The Shivering Isles.

And they can take as much time as they need. No rushing.

You know I dont get the "Master Criminal" Achievement.

Why is it that you need to get a bounty? Does that not imply you are incompetent if you leave a witness each and every time you commit a crime to get to 1000 gold?

So instead of committing so many crimes its "Get caught doing lots of crimes!"
Why not just call it "Brazen Thug" then?

^ I agree. I have just a handful of achievements left, and I still don't have the Master Criminal one. It does seem counter-intuitive - if you're a "master", you wouldn't get caught. Hmmpf.

I agree with Brazen Thug, or just plan Murderer (unless that already exists for something else).

These are the ones I have left:

Wanted - Escape from jail
Master Criminal - Bounty of 1000 gold in all nine holds
Oblivion Walker - Collect 15 Daedric Artifacts
Thief - Pick 50 locks and 50 pockets

Well no one would know a crime was done if no one seen it. Thats why around the world there are so many missing people rather than killed or sex slves.

Easy to do though, run to each town kill a guard i nthe street, run away. You'll have it in no time lulz. Though I reloaded once I got it.

Time to saddle up Shadowmere, and get to it, I suppose! :) Although I probably should get caught just once, to attempt to break out, and satisfy another achievement.

I'm not sure which Daedric artifact I'm missing, because as far as I know, I should have them all. Waa.

I don't know why, but I'm a big chicken about pickpocketing people. I have no problem stealing their dreams for Vaermina, or feasting on their corpse once I've murdered them in their sleep, but I just can't get past the thought of stealing from someone. Weird.

Pick-pocketing is easy though.

I think its one of the funnest criminal acts to get up to in the game really.
Well the thieves guild jobs were all fun really.

In one night I picked a dozen pockets, fiddled some numbers, and swiped some stuff from three houses.

THAT is a master criminal since no one even caught me.

LOL. I'm the complete opposite. I have a hard time killing Erandur and refused to practice cannibalism up until only very recently (I'm still no fan) - but I'll pickpocket people, burglarize their homes, and kill and rob them with reckless abandon.

Also, are you sure you did all the Daedric quests? Or might you have failed one? Double check your completed quests list to be sure.

You know, I've noticed that before, but I have absolutely no idea what it's even for. is it for when you're staying at the inn or something?
