I need Dawnguard, hahaha.

I have nothing to do in Skyrim now except go from place to place on foot and enjoy the scenery.

I suggest trying mods like that Moonpath to...the Khajiit place.

Actually pretty fun.
MINUS THE GIANT FREAKING SPIDERS.
I hate spiders.

Shame since its actullay quite fun.
Seeing some different species of Khajiit is cool.

Especially the one twice as tall as my imperial.
And he thought being around Nords made him look short...

I'll live.

I just need Dawnguard.

Well, I need more after Dawnguard.

I need Skyrim's equivalent of The Shivering Isles.

Bethesda Game Studios likely has begun Fallout 4, but there's no doubt Skyrim dlc is a top focus for Todd Howard and Co. It's been 6 months since Skyrim's release, and we just got word of a Skyrim dlc. That, coupled with the fact that Todd Howard said there would be less dlc but with more content, I suspect about 2 full blown expansions...the second and final one being the biggest.

If it has Shivering Isles content, that's easily 100 hours of gameplay just in an expansion. For an expansion that big, I'd pay $30-40 in a heartbeat.

Anyone else notice how Bethesda snuck in that 'Dawnguard coming...more news at E3!' right before announcing TES Online? It avoided an even bigger swarm of angry TES fans.

You're welcome!

And while it is well known, an arrow down a hallway will work to distract ot lure opponents. In several dungeons, one of my fave activities is to use this and the Throw Voice Shout to lure foes into their own traps - esp those spring loaded spiked doors - and have them eliminate themselves. Use those arrows on some hanging lanterns above the oil slicked pools, and watch skeletons and mages alike cease to to be problems. In some areas, those bear traps may be re-set repeatedly; capturing one clueless guard after another.

The Stealth Archer is my fave design, and it will go a long way to improve many others. With my 2H Orc, the enjoyment gained when foes realize that closing to melee may not have been the best idea was worth the price of this GOTY itself.

Yes, I've been somewhat experimenting with arrows shoot to confuse the enemies. It's interesting and can be situationally usefull, but less so if, in the end, you're gonna shoot them anyway (though you may position them better that way, I suppose).
Will try to use the traps some more too. But the weaker traps (like oil) tend to barely scratch the enemies, at least at higher level.

I think I've had the most fun with my stealthy mage-assasin so far. He could tackle any situation with relative ease, when compared with my current low-magic (mainly transmute in fact... oooh, shiny! :) )stealth build.

A 2H Orc was my first major charater and the only one I've finished the game with so far. Was mighty fun too, but after I have solved the magic vulnerability issues via enchanting he became pretty much an unstoppable juggernought of destruction... one or two-shotting everything with charging power attacks, so maybe a bit too overpowered.
My next two characters skipped Enchanting and I think it made the game that much more enjoyable. My assasin mage also skipped Smithing opting to go for robes instead, which worked well enough, but he did become a bit squishy after level 40 or so. Still, if he could get the jump on the enemy, he was rarely in danger.
My current Rogue does dabble a bit in Smithing, but is taking it leisurely, avoiding the grind and feels squishy as hell, dies if a Draugr Scourge Lord as much as looks at him...

^ Bear traps are a discussion in themselves. You can more than just reset Bear traps. You can drag and drop them where you want.

On a few occasions you'll enter a cavern or room in a dungeon with multiple bear traps. A stealth build can truly take advantage of this.; creating a painful column leading to himself for any enemy.  Or, you can place them in a circle around yourself then make yourself visible... then wait for the mobs to try and surround you.

You can also supplement them with a Rune spell.   or a Rune spell and shots from your bow...  So lets recap.    You see an enemy in the distance and 3 bear traps.  You move the bear traps into a column in front of you and then place a lightning rune  amongst them.  You then  fire an arrow at the enemy with your bow then unstealth.   Enemy charges you, gets hit by every bear trap and the lightning rune.  his health bar is now 3/4 gone.  he gets to you... you unsheath your dagger and hit him once.  he dies.

Thanks, I'll have to try that out :)

Fire dmg like the other types does work better against some foes more than others. Uncertain, but skeletons, Frost spiders, etc seem to be more vulnerable, where as Dark Elves are resistant.

The situational nature of distraction is often used to seperate foes into smaller groups, but can also be used to lead opposing foes into each other (eg; Giant vs mages). And I love that spiked door trap, as the trigger is so well defined as a target for an archer. Call the guard over to investigate, and *ZING! Crash! BAM!* and resets for the next group.

Be sure to max Stealth, too; especially helpful for fading from view if one is feeling squishy.

Yes, the spiked doors are pretty cool.

And I'm working on Sneak, but it's still only a little bit above 60. Takes much longer to increase without those overpowering Calm/Pacify backstabs. I do have Stealth at level 4 I think (which is higher then my mage-assasin had) but am still not-so-difficult to discover, particularly compared with the robed mage with Muffle.

I tend to go everywhere outside of the cities in Stealth. Yes; it takes longer to get places, but the Skill easily becomes the first one to max early in the game. And many of the perks are quite pleasing, and I always select them all. At actual higher lvls, the ability seems to be less effective as it was earlier, as some foes become more perceptive, but it still is my fave Skill set.

And for armor, I suggest trying to obtain the Ancient Shrouded set; my personal fave. If your Dragonborn is not the DB sort of person. if on the PC use the console commands to spawn in the token, as well as Shadowmere; both aid in avoiding frustration (may be able to get a reading w/o token on 360 per notes in Wiki, though it may not lead to armor).

Well, I don't really like the Ninja look of the Shrouded Armor. Much prefer the Thieves Guild/Nightingale Armors. Can possibly make some compromise to wear the gloves though ;-)

And will get a mod that allows the Nightingale equipment to be fully upgraded through smithing (as leather material for the armor and ebony perk for the weapons). It doesn't make sense that some equipment can be upgraded twice as much compared to another.

And no, I generally don't spawn items I haven't earned.

I'd forgotten how freaking annoying Lydia can be. I spent about 100 hours with her in my first playthrough, but haven't used her since. So in this pt, I've been kinda cheap, and have been swapping out followers as I go. I went from Uthgerd to Lydia, and bypassed Faendal altogether.

So we're trekking from Riften to Windhelm on foot, and every 50 steps or so, I quit hearing Lydia's footsteps. The idiot keeps getting stuck on stuff, and she runs much slower than my character, who was also wearing heavy armor. By the time we finally got to Windhelm, I was ready to push her off a bridge, or feed her to a dragon.

So, I immediately fast-traveled back to Riften, killed Grelod the Kind, and joined the Dark Brotherhood. I figured hey, if I was going to murder someone, I might as well get paid for it. When Astrid told me to kill one of the three peeps, I went right for the annoying housewife. I always do, but this time, I torched her. There was something oddly satisfying about it...

I try to play solo; only take those Followers that are forced on me due to quests. Thus far, have been able to avoid frustration from Housecarls and canines.

And those DB vics; have either released them or killed them all. I do not believe any were innocent.

After playing the shopping wars a few times with varied characters, I started to use Console spawning more often. Only so many runs to all the shops looking for specific gear I can make before requiring a nap or other break.

^ Yeah, I'm a squishy pure mage, though. It's been helpful to have a follower act as a meatbag, while I rain destruction upon our enemies. Image IPB

So have any of the latest patches fixed the annoying "dogs (or certain followers) pushing you off cliffs" business?

I dont use followers on my main.

Really because I use my bow as an opener and LEEROY JENKINS assumes direct control of my companions. Not that I mind on some saves when they direct those matters personally but when i am setting up stealth shots all I can say is this hurts my strategy.

Stealth is not their strong suit, meaning if I have them I will have to find another way.

Who needs followers when you can just summon up daedra and the undead?
Although...I cant imagine a Fire Atronach would make for good conversations.

Lydia is annoying...very annoying...and is soft in a fight.  Mjoll is invulnerable, but...she's a total repetitive chatterbox and is...yes...also annoying (liked her the first run through, but...just no on this run--can't take it).

I like to have a companion, preferably female, who can hold her own, so I went to the Workshop to find another, and I've taken on Miravel as a permanent companion, she's pleasant to look at, especially in modded Elven armor, is invulnerable like Mjoll, doesn't over-chatter, and is a dual wielding/archery beast.  Actually she's quite the little kill stealer, but I let it slide.  Her kill animations (not in kill cam, but real time) are as fun to watch as my Nord's.   I watched her dual axe execute an orc bandit last night, who was easily twice her size.  It was hilarious.  Wish I'd caught it in a screen shot.

Another reason for staying off horseback in Skyrim-

If the horse dies falling off a cliff, so do you. Even if you could've survived the fall on foot.
