^ Yeah, I'm a squishy pure mage, though. It's been helpful to have a follower act as a meatbag, while I rain destruction upon our enemies. Image IPB

So have any of the latest patches fixed the annoying "dogs (or certain followers) pushing you off cliffs" business?

Who needs followers when you can just summon up daedra and the undead?
Although...I cant imagine a Fire Atronach would make for good conversations.

I can't summon much at the moment, but I'm working on it! I do summon the customary fire atronach, and use soul trap and reanimate corpse when I remember, but I'm only level 12 on this character, so...yeah, my Conjuration needs some work.

As per my usual, Illusion is my highest skill, followed by Stealth, then Destruction. I'm finally getting some better Destruction spells, so I'm hopeful that will get much better quickly.

^There's actually a Fire Atronach companion mod...who you can marry! WTF?

I bet she has a fiery personality.

Also...

She's hot.

She has a burning desire for the Dovakiin.

You can ask her to make you a homecooked meal, but you know how it'll turn out....  That's right:  Burned.

LOL I can do this all day.

Consider her a bit of an ash myself; tend to cinder away....

She's just like most girls... if you fart in bed they could explode.

She's like the "northern girls" in that Beach Boys song.... she'll keep you warm at night.

I love her, but she doesn't share my love for Game of Thrones. Every time she hears "Winter is Coming", she runs for the hills.

With Illusion and Stealth I would definately recommend Archery and Mystic Bound Bow. That's a very potent combination. Destruction was such a huge dissapointment for me...

OK, let me take a minute to do this.

I am using a regular bow, and it didn't occur to me to freaking use a Bound bow. OMG. I am an idiot.

I used the Bound Battleaxe in one of my other playthroughs, but I completely forgot about the Bound Bow.

Oh the bad puns they burn!
Damn I did it again!

Just to change focus who here chooses gear for RP purposes?
My main file wears an Amulet of Talos, where as my Orc wears Orcish armor and wields Voldunrung because he worships Malacath.

Nah, my guy has full Daedric, though that's because its best in game.

Then again, I got every achievement on my one character, so my character is a total ass who's dealt with the Daedra A LOT.

I still have to get that one.....

But honestly its really annoying how 90% of the daedra are real dicks.
Outside of Sanguine and Sheogorath I really got annoyed with most of them.

Then again Sanguine is my drinking buddy, and Sheogorath is crazy awesome.

Hmm...I don't have my characters wear any special armor or amulets. Mostly, I try to get them to Daedric armor and weapons, and stop there.

Although my Orc is married to an Orc (Ghorbash the Iron Hand) and uses an Orc follower (Borgakh the Steel Heart). Does that count?

Okay I just did Moonpath to E.

Actually really well done, outside of voice overs, and some clipping it was very fun.
Plus killing **** tons of Thalmor never stops getting old.

Idk don't remember her name but I like the one that gives me a flaming sword to kill the undead. Least she gives me weapons no strings attached.

^ That's Meridia, and I love Dawnbreaker.

Oh, that just reminded me of how much I miss Dawnfang/Duskfang from Oblivion/Shivering Isles. Image IPB

Umm, problem is Bound Bow is an Adept level spell (i.e. Conjuration 50 Minimum)  I don't think your Conjuration is that high right?

However, if you can cast it, here are some numbers from uesp.net:

Damage:

Bound Bow: 18 (+6 with Mystic Binding)
Bound Arrow: 24

Daedric Bow: 19 (+10 with Legendary Smithing)
Daedric Arrow: 24
(but seriously, how many Daedric arrow can you afford to shoot away? or even find/loot/smith?)
Ebony Arrow: 20
Glass Arrow: 18
Elven Arrow: 16
Dwarven Arrow: 14
Orcish Arrow: 12
Steel Arrow: 10
Iron Arrow: 8

So a basic Bound Bow (18+24=42) will technically outdamage a Legendary Daedric Bow using Orcish Arrows or less (19+10+12=41) ...

The main advantage of the physical Bow is that you can enchant it however you want (if you have the skill and perks)

However, if you don't want to spend any perks, just get Conjuration to 50 (Conjuration is quite easy to grind) and use the basic Bound Bow.

My last Skyrim charactor before it got kicked to the dusty shelf by Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning was a Rogue-Mage who used Bound Bow for ranged sneak attacks (when she wanted to, she developed her Destruction first and was perfectly capable of blasting away mooks in an eyeblink) all the way past level 50 until I stopped playing her.  She was a real sneaky girl who would be perfect for Dark Brotherhood but fried Astrid to a crisp in <5 seconds with spammed Firebolts from both hands (I never thought it would be so easy to kill Astrid this way ...)

You're talking about Meridia. She's the daedric prince of mortal and all living things. She hates undead, necromancy and necromancers. She is quite friendly and indeed once of the few good daedric princes.

Azura is also a good daedric prince. She's friendly and good to her followers.

Quite true. I'll start working on Conjuration, pronto. I do know how to spam it, to increase the level quickly, but I'm trying to let things level up more organically in this playthrough. I guess I just need to kill more stuff to soul trap, then reanimate them.

OT: I don't believe for a second that it deserved GOTY, but I love the hell outta this game.
.

Well, I'm wracking my brain trying to recall a better game  that came out in 2011.  Nothing comes to mind.  Help me out?

The Witcher 2.

It's better than Skyrim, but much less overrated. In fact, I dare say The Witcher 2 is incredibly underrated when it comes to popularity. It's such a great game, yet only the most hardcore gamers have played it (and loved it)!

Oh yeah.  Meridia...one of only three Daedra my boy scout Nord actually did something for.  Sword: Dawnbreaker.  And hell yes, setting Draugr on fire and then making them and everything else in the room explode is just plain cartoon fun.

I prefer dual wielding war axes in virtually any given situation, but Dawnbreaker is easily my favorite weapon in the game.  Even though the highest damage I've ever managed to eek out for DB is 145, the effect on undead is worth making it a standard always carry item in the inventory for barrows, crypts, and tombs.
