^ Sweet, I knew someone would have a better recipe. I'm writing that one down...

I love making potions and... <.<  >.>  spend hours at it.
I still have my potion recipes from Morrowind and Oblivion ( I made for my hub).
I make a lot of potions for money but yeah, I use that paralysis one a LOT!!

For me it's more about the gaming experience, rather then power-levelling to the best possible stat. Sure, I can smith/enchant uber-equipment of invincible doom.. but the fact is that one-shotting everything is actually pretty boring, at least for me. So I dropped enchanting... and avoid grinding smithing, but rather raise it organically, as I explore and, for example, find material in dwemer ruins.

5 training sessions will stop giving you levels very quickly. Plus, 19.000 gold isn't even enough to go from 50 to 70 skill (one training costs over 1.500 gold after Adept level), not to mention from 20 to 70.
And I refuse to use the "free" training sessions from followers. This is clearly an exploit for me.

Sneak is a Skill that may be learned early; so easy it may be done with one's hands tied behind the back while being chased by a Dragon.

Out of all the poison effects I think I love paralysis, slow, burden, ravage stamina and weakness to poison since it ensures they will succumb to the poison nicely. I actually add that first via arrow while staying hidden.

I love my Staff of Paralysis, but man its costly soul gem wise.

I never used enchanting because I found it redundant and I didn't like being forced to fill the damn weapon with soul gems after each encounter. Besides, it's unnessesary because one can easily one-shot almost everything without the need of any enchantments.

One-shotting everything isn't boring (for me), it's just the way of the assassin. But I do give myself some rules though. 'The Way of The Assassin' as I would like to call it. My rules are made up to make the assassin experience more interesting.

The Way of The Assassin:

1. Thou shall only assassinate the mark. The rest should be left unharmed.
2. Thou shall leave no bloodbath. A clean one-shot hit is the way of the assassin.
3. Thou shall work from the shadows. Thou were never there.
4. Thou shall not murder innocent folks.
5. Thou shall never kill out of vegeance. Thou art but a weapon, a tool, nothing more.

It's by these 5 rules that I play my assassin. It's super fun.

Grinding smithing is no longer possible as of patch 1.5. We are now FORCED to level smithing the regular way. And I can tell you, it's a pain in the arse. Leveling smithing takes FOREVER now.

Hehehee.

I think I got the single silliest thing to ever happen to me.

A courier ran up to me to give me a message.
But he ran through a giant's camp to do it.

So he gave it to me and the SECOND after dialouge closed a giant came in from off screen and sent him airborne.

I guess he really had to go, but AIR GIANT is not how I would go.

While not mandatory, I play my stealthers much the same. I prefer to remain unknown; slip in, clean kill, and slip away into the darkness. Nothing is set in stone, as I love to adapt to each situation, but do try to maintain anonimity.

But I also try to make some of these kills appear as accidents, ot try and use the environments for aid. In one case, I awaken a bunch of Mud Crabs and then the mark, and let nature take it's course. The extra work pays off in enjoyment what is not actually gained in XP.

Bah! I was wondering why Smithing was taking so long to level up - it's took forever just to get it to level 50.

Meanwhile, I got Conjuration to 100 in less than an hour by repeatedly casting Soul Trap on a dead body - I was summoning Dremora Lords and Dead Thralling people before I even hit level 20.

I'm in an combination of Day 4: Guilt and Day 7: Acceptance.

I'm super addicted to this game. Ever since I started a new game again recently, I'm completely hooked again. I'm skipping school and missing deadlines, which makes my project leader extremely angry (I'm a game-designer and currently working on a video-game project as a 3D modeler an environment designer). Now I feel guilty and I've accepted that I have a problem. So what I did is giving my Xbox360 controller and the game Skyrim to my mom, told her to hide the controllers and game from me until I've finished my project.

Man, I'm so f*cked...

With my new Alchemy Assassin character, I managed ot level smithing to 50 pretty damn fast. But now it goes slow like hell!

Here's a tip:

Join the Companions as soon as possible, ASAP! Then, when you're a companion, go to Eorland Gray-Mane and train Smithing every time you level up. This can be quite expensive, but as a member of the Thieves Guild, this is not a problem for me. I simply rob an entire city and sell everything at the Guild's fence (I usually get 10.000 gold after each heist), then spend that money on training.

First I trained Sneak to lvl 50 that way. Then I trained Archery to lvl 50 that way. After that I trained Smithing to lvl 50 that way.

My character currently is lvl 21 himself, he has sneak on 78, archery on 62 and smithing only on 55...

I think they nerved smithing way to bad. I mean sure, leveling smithing was way too easy before patch 1.5, but now it's way too hard!

No, it's not hard. Making Jewlery helps a lot (Transmute is priceless!) and so does Dwemer smithing and Dwemer ruin diving. There is a ton of material just lying around.... Dwemer Bows are inexpensive to make and advance Smithing at a reasonable rate.

This isn't entirely true.  Patch 1.05 made it so that the speed of smithing advancement is based on the value of the item you create at the forge.  Which means  trying to get to 100 by  mass producing  worthless crap like  Iron Daggers and Leather bracers will now take you 10 times as long as it used to.

But the opposite is true if you decide to spam  smithing by creating expensive things.  Thanks to patch 1.05, you now get a *greater* boost than before when making Jewelery, for example... or Dwarven bracers and daggers.

My advice to people who want to level smithing really fast like before:    Do what Haplose just suggested above.  Find a Dwarven Ruin.   Enter it.   collect every piece of dwarven scrap metal you see.  leave.  Go to a forge.  make dwarven stuff. Then when your smithing gets to about the mid 70s,   Use the money you made from selling that dwarven stuff to buy training from Eorland Grey-mane to bring you up the rest of the way.

Or take the magic route.  Transmute your  cheap ingots into silver or gold then start making rings and necklaces.

I'm doing exactly that Yrkoon, but it still takes me a lot longer with a lot more effort to level smithing than it took me before the latest patch.

A bit off topic but, while arrow to the Knee and "aww did somebody steal your sweet roll" are all nice and good, I just wish at the very least the imperials would yell

STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM! Pay the court a fine or serve your sentance. I miss that line.

Heh, I'd rather the guards say "Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt!" like in the good ol' days.

I never found smithing very difficult at all. I just kept pretty much all the materials from when I went into "dungeons" and used it to make stuff. I did quite a few of the dwarven ruins, so this was pretty simple.

But it's way more fun this way then just spamming iron daggers/bracers!

Hm, okay. I guess I act similarly on Dark Brotherhood contracts in towns. But whenever I go dungeon diving, every enemy I meet is fair game.
I need my One Handed/Sneak/Archery and Illusion or Light Armor/Block training sessions :P
