Uhh that game with the Witches, what was it.....ah yes The Crusades, Murdering of the Witches!

Actully that might be a fun game. Well to me at least.

But yes Witcher 2.

Nope. My Imperial Thief with a fake eye named Garrett is not based on any Witcher character. ;)

Here's a hint: Garrett is from one of the most awesome stealthy sneak games ever.

Damn, those were awesome games - THPS2 especially. I'll need to play those again sometime for old time's sake.

Yeah, but in all seriousness, I was obviously hinting at the Thief series.

I just recently bought Thief 3: Deadly Shadows for the PC from GoG.com. I used to have the Xbox version but sold my Xbox and all Xbox games. So now I rebought the game for the PC to play it once again for old time's sake. :D

I have to confess though: My Garrett character in Skyrim is not as noble as Garrett from the Thief series. Garrett from the Thief series never kills (unless he's forced to). But my character Garrett in Skyrim joined the Dark Brotherhood after he finished the Thieves Guild questline. :P

Guys I have a question about the Bard's College.

I haven't done the Bard's College questline yet with any of my characters, because I thought that questline would be kinda dull and boring (my friends tell me it is). But do you actually get to play an instrument as a Bard?

If I don't get to play an instrument then I really see no point in joining the Bard's College.

No, but you do carry some around to simulate knowledge, as well as a knowlege of lore. I usually consider my Bard's poets, and only play for personal appeal.

The quests are straightforward, but the rewards are helpful, and a few of the quests and accompanied stories are pleasing. If they graduated as well as they accepted students, this might be a more popular series.

If you already are living next door, give it the time with at least one character for the entrance storyline alone; you get to save the Festival. Plus, once in a while, passing NPC's may make mention of your standing as a Bard, too.

Has anybody had issues with their volume? Everything is very low despite my best efforts to adjust that. Plus sometimes voices are unusually quiet compared to everything else.

Also another bug I haven't been able to fix is that sometimes alt-tabbing screws up all of the effects, you can't see flames, shadows and light get broken, etc.

Plus at night sometimes the moon is completely black like there's a bug with the texture.

I actully think as time goes by it causes problems in the game world, I honestly run into it freezing at least twice in any given day of play, and the water in parts the texture just vanishes, comes back at times later on, some times doesn't.

The sound I've noticed that with voices, I find its more directional than the games sound like, if someones in front of you, it sounds like a shout. Behind you, like a whisper, and I have pretty good sound on my TV. The game just still suffers from technical issues in that reguard. Its why for me Skyrim will never be more than a 9. Game of the year for that year for sure though lol.

Wow, only 12? I think I've probably done double, maybe triple that number (most of them only partial playthroughs, but still) - and there's still a good 40%-50% of the game I haven't even touched yet.

Taking a break right now though - still stuck in gaming limbo where I can't decide exactly what I wanna play. Trying my hand at Dark Souls today - I'll probably get back into Skyrim after the Dawnguard reveal at E3 though.

Okay you two up there, do you like "finish" the game with those, I mean all sidequests, etc? Or is there some you skip on for "rpging"?

Cause honestly I've only now finished up everything thats trackable at least (minus blood on ice which won't launch) and at 200 hours, I just can't reall will myself, least not yet into doing another full run.

Nevermind 12 plus lol.

I think I  have one partial run that I stoped, and I had another older 80 run I stopped doing given some issues. But thats it.

Image IPB  I stopped at 3 1/2.  I do want to go back and finish my Dunmer nightblade's game, and replay my Stormcloak lass, eventually.

I started playing Fallout New Vegas again.  Such a good game.  I've been meaning to write a fanfiction story based on it for a long time and actually started writing- but don't think I can do Fallout dark humor justice.

I might've exaggerated a bit on the triple part - and as I said, a lot of those were "partial" playthroughs. I can't say I've ever completely, utterly "finished" a playthrough though - just too much stuff to keep up with.

Oh, geez, no, mine aren't all complete playthroughs.

In my first one, I did the main quest, civil war, and all main guild quests, and stopped around level 60. I have 5-6 that are around level 20, and the rest are n00bs, at around level 2.

You could say that I went a little crazy with character creation. I wanted to try out every race and specialization. For some of them, I did all of the Thieves Guild quests; for others, I did all of the Daedric quests. All of them did (or will do) the Dark Brotherhood quests. My Nord got to be the token Falmer dungeon-delver. My Orc was all around butt-kicker. Etc. Ultimately, they all turned in to stealthy archers, who used a bit of magic. Some used 1h or 2h weapons (especially my Nord). A couple are pure mages, but I change up their specializations.

It's just as bad as when I played The Sims on PC, and got fixated with creating wallpaper for my houses. Image IPB

I think I need a job creating NPCs for Bethesda. That would be my dream job.

Missing textures indicate running ouf of graphics memory. Almost never happened in the base game, but after the High Definition Textures DLC and, to a lesser degree, custom texture packs, can easily happen.
I cannot play with the HD DLC on, because after 1-3 area transits I will either start seeing missing textures and/or the game will crash.
I have some custom textures installed and the game is very playable this way (and beautiful with ENB injector), but still, after several transitions it may eventually slow to a crawl and/or be stuck at loading.

I have a 1 GB GTX 560 and 4 GB RAM, which theoretically should be enough, but I run Windows XP, which limits accesible memory... and that is clearly not enough for the most demanding textures.

As for the low volume problem... maybe try stereo or 2.1 setting. I seem to remember very quiet voices whenever I had 5.1 enabled (and played in headphones).

I tend to be extremely obsessive-compulsive with character creation in just about all games that feature it - sometimes I'll spend hours restarting and adjusting even the slightest features of a character's face because something about it doesn't look "right."

It's really bad with DA:O - I've been known to get all the way to the Circle Tower, sometimes even beyond that, and restart from the beginning because I notice something about the character's face that irritates me - done that quite a bit with Skyrim too, unfortunately.

Ah well, I'm a nut like that, I guess. -_-'

I always try to make my characters ugly on purpose. Not that I want them to look silly, I just want them to look realistic. So my characters in Skyrim often have scarred muddy faces and at least 1 feature that makes them look imperfect (for example a big curved nose or a blind eye or something like that). Often the result is pretty damn badass. Almost all my Skyrim characters look like badasses.

Try 1. I did the same with Oblivion. I had 1 character last me for years. I'm in no rush to finish anything and generally just take my time, I could play for hours and do nothing. Last night for example, I thought I'd finish the quest I was on, taking the helmet back to Ulfric(I only realised last night he was Vladimir Kulich(sp?)), I thought I'd walk back, hand it over and then turn my game off. 3 hours later I'm in some cave trying to find a drum for some guy in the Bard's College with no intention of going to Whiterun to hand over Ulfric's axe. I've played well over 100 hours and not explored Falkreath, Morthal or Dawnstar yet. Not done anything in the Dark Brotherhood at all yet either.

I loved F:NV but I actually stopped playing because I think I missed a giant part of the story. Spoilers follow: They are trying to get me to kill Mr. House but I've no idea what to do because I don't know why they want him dead. I stopped playing last year and keep meaning to go back to it but I'm still unsure of what's going on.

No offense, but why is everyone so obsessed with pretty characters? Well, maybe not obsessed, but everyone tries to achieve a certain level of beauty in their characters. Everyone except for me I guess... I always want my characters to be ugly.

That said, I do love your characters. I can certainly see you put time into them.

I dunno. I guess I figure that if I'm going to be looking at them for a long time, I'd like them to be appealing to me. I don't bother with helmets, usually (unless it's Dragonscale or Daedric), so I see their faces quite a bit.

How is it possible your game is very playable with ENB while it crashes with the HD texture pack? With ENB you mean the lighting mod, right? Because I can play with the HD texture DLC and toss in all the HD textures I want, but as soon as I try an ENB lighting mod, my game slows to a crawl. I tried cinematic lighting, and It took almost ten minutes for the game to load, and then the framerate was so low the game was stuttering. I couldn't even normally look around me.

Real shame, because I have seen ENB mods that look very beautiful. I suppose I will have to make due with Realistich Lighting instead, with high quality textures.

You know, I have to go back and actually finish New Vegas for the fourth time.  As each DLC would come out, I would use the save (same character) just prior to talking to Colonel ?, would play the DLC, then go back, retake Hoover Dam, and re-finish the game.  Well I did that three times.  Now I have to complete it for good, but now I want to do that awesome speech check against Legate Lanius instead of killing him outright.  That is one great scene, without any fighting!, if you've ever watched it on Youtube.  After all four DLCs my speech is finally at 100 (as primarily a guns oriented character), so I think that's how I want to end this year-and-a half long playthrough...oh and I want to do it all while wearing Ulysses' badass duster! Yeah, I do use Cinematic Lighting at 1920 x 1200 with SSAO, AA at 8x and AF at 16x. And it's quite playable. Maybe not buttery smooth, but enough for me. And the game simply looks gorgeous this way. My guess would be that maybe you have more graphics RAM and/or more RAM running Windows 7/Vista to manage all those texture packs?
While maybe your graphics card is a bit slower?

This really makes me wonder, why didn't anyone working on Skyrim think of a means for players to change hairstyle, makeup, facepaint on a charactor in-game?

Dragon Age 2 has the magical Mirror of Transformation but that of course enables the player to change the entire face.  What I am thinking of is in Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning where when a player has a home, there will be a mirror that allows the player to repeatedly re-customise hairstyle/color, jewelry (earrings, piercings) and facial tattoos (assuming that it's non permanent) without changing the face itself.

Wonder if there is a player mod out there that allows that for Skyrim ...
