I can't recall if I've seen a dragon clutch something in its claws or not, tbh. Most of the time, I'm a low-level character, looking for a hiding spot, until I can get my atronach summoned, and my bow ready.

Mammoths ARE pretty tough. I hate it when one of my followers hits one with a stray arrow, and they charge at us. That's never good, because that usually also brings a giant.

@Blood - No mods for me; I'm on 360.

Actually, I have seen a dragon swoop down and grab someone - in the beginning, just before you enter Helgen Keep with Hadvar/Ralof, Alduin will sweep up one of the Imperial soldiers standing on top of the walls across from the Keep.

That's the only instance I've ever seen a dragon do that, though.

I just realized something.

The game REALLY wants you to go to Whiterun first.
I tried taking my BRIAN BLESSED nord to Falkreath...and then get mauled by Spriggans.
My Khajitt tried to get to Riften and its BEARS AND SABERCATS EVERYWHERE.
Then my Breton tried getting to Winterhold only to get mauled by Ice Wraiths.

The game really wants you to level up in and around Whiterun first.

I tried walking into the Reach with my Nord and holy crap Forsworn EVERYWHERE.

Not true. You can use a carriage to wherever you want and level up there with no problem. I do this all the time. All my characters join the Thieves Guild at lvl 2.

TES wiki....
On a rare occasion approaching Fjola never triggers any type of dialogue action at all. The only option IS to kill her. In this particular instance, killing Fjola and picking up the ring off her dead body, doesn't trigger any type of quest message about going back to talk to Christer. Also, Christer completely disappears from Mis****ch altogether. You can't go back and talk to him even if you wanted to, because he is simply not there to talk to.

Bah, so that's what happened. What a shame, now I missed the whole story here. Small quest, but still a pity, because what I read on the wiki sounds interesting enough.

Hmm, a Thor clone would make for an interesting character - a large warhammer (Steel, I guess?) with shock enchantments, maybe throw in some shock spells and Storm Call for good measure.

Might try that out sometime.

Already did that months ago. It's awesome.

Hmm this Thor idea.... I must try it!

Edit on that note I also will use telekinesis to throw an extra hammer into the faces of my enemies.

Am fairly certain a large dragon air-lifted a mammoth in one of my sessions. And I have also seen a lot of horses and riders frop from the air in certain areas after Quick Travel.

Heh, this happened to me a couple times and in all cases my strategy was to run towards the giants.  *thumpity thump* sabrecat moo shu.

Why don't you guys just use a carriage to go to another starting area?

Skyrim is designed in such a way that the furter you go away from a city or hold, the stronger the wild animals and monsters get. So that's the reason why you guys get p0wned if you try to travel to another hold on foot. As soon as you are in the wilderniss, far from a hold, you'll get stronger enemies, which you are unable to face if you are at a truly low level.

So instead of traveling on foot, use a carriage to go to your favorite hold if you're at a low level. Then you can start your adventure from there with no trouble.

LOL you're joking right?

Since in Skyrim you can basicially make around 9000 gold in just over 30 minutes without cheating or using any exploits, paying 20, 40 or 100 gold shouldn't really be a problem for you. :P

Carriages are for wussies.
Real PCs punch a dude in the face then take his horse.

I finally got Riften to trigger properly so that I got the formal title of Thane complete with a housecarl for Honeyside.  I couldn't get it to trigger when I played on 360.  Blood on the Ice is coming up so I'm hoping that triggers properly as well.

Just cleared Dead Man's Respite last night too.  That's just a great quest and side story.  Olaf One-Eye sends his regards to all...well I suppose he would have if hadn't exploded in a spray of bones and loot across the main chamber of DMR courtesy of Dawnbreaker! Image IPB

So using carriages = powergaming? xD

Carriages are there for the sole purpose to travel to another hold quickly so you can start your adventure there instead of Whiterun. Thieves my want to start their adventure in Riften to join the Thieves Guild early. Mages might want to start their adventure in Winterhold to join the College. It's all possible because of the carriages. It has nothing to do with "powergaming".

That's boring.  The point of a Bethesda game is to get out and explore, and getting yourself into deep poo is half the fun.
