BTW, Elhanan, I thought I'd seen it all in Skyrim ...I was wrong. Didn't realize I could turn someone hostile with cabbage! Makes sense I suppose though. LOL.

You can't, and I know since my courier was female with Cherchez la femme perk. You can flirt with Christine, though.LobselVith8 wrote...

Look on the bright side- she was looking for the Courier at the time. Whiskey goggles, whatcha gonna do. lol
That's more than you get out of Boone, damn him.
Speaking of romances, I wonder if the Courier would tell Veronica to head to the Sierra Madre, if Christine was the one she was with years ago, before Elijah separated them.
It's doubtful Christine is Veronica's long lost love anyway.

And Pft my Courier got both sara and lucy lulz.

I would've expected to be able to tell Veronica about it, then, but I can't. Obsidian wouldn't miss a detail like that on purpose. So I conclude it's all a coincidence.Giggles_Manically wrote...

Obsidian is human and they can make mistakes.
Besides Father Elijah is the true focus....heh wiping him out with a single stealthed Holorifle round to the face...good times.

I don't think you understand a few simple facts.
One Humanity got the **** beaten out of it, Humanity, not just America, the whole world was at War at the time, when China and America Launched so did they. I suspect the surviving population is no greater than 5% of the Prewar popullation. If even that high, in fact Canon suggests from one of the DLC's that not one person is left alive in Canada.. Look at the Population for CA Today, then Remember the NCR is the most dominate faction in the west because of numbers. Surely the NCR has millions of men? Wrong the population is only 700 thousand strong. Total. And thats only after rebuilding and becoming civilized.
Two the Brotherhood of Steel is a militant group made up of former US Army Units that turned Rebel, then after the war devoted itself to taking all technology it could and keeping it for themselves alone. Only the Eastern Brotherhood stoped that crazyness. Most people didn't much like that and would shoot at them, or they constantly fought supermutants, so they took more and more deaths and had no way to replace numbers with outside recruitment.
And Three Giant monsters, Mutants, undead that shoot radiation, cannibles, raiders, slavers, the freak'n Roman Empire, Remnants of the Chinse Army that took years to just let the war go, are running around killing who's left, or eating them. And thats just in the West.
To be blunt, for a militant orginization thats shrinking everyday, fighting everyday, and in general the survival of the human race on the edge of being wiped out, everyone has to "do" the part to be pushing out babies as fast as possible so to speak.
Unles your of the notion that "feelings" are greater than the survival of humanity.

We're witnessing the slow-drip release process right now, aren't we. Archery Kill cams in the last patch, Mounted combat and Kinect support in the new patch....Confess-A-Bear wrote...
yay. But on to skyrim. I wonder if any of the mods the Team made will show up as DLC or free updates at some point, minus the horse combat at least.
I'm confident it's all coming. I bet that by the end of this year we'll look back at the Jam video and say: Wow, that was a video containing zero wasted potential.

I recall the lycanthropy skill tree from the clips. I guess using werewolf/vampire skills would level the character and enable progress on the skill tree?

Me, I'm looking forward to seeing if they put Vampire/Werewolf Trainers in the game lol. I can just imagine my Orc walking up to the kid at the dark brotherhood sanctuary and asking for "vampire training".

I do. It's been horribly dumbed down when compared with Fallout 1 & 2.
The original S.P.E.C.I.A.L. was a beautifully crafted system, I'd even go as far as to call it THE BEST crpg game mechanics EVER.
Your interactions with the world were pretty much all heavily stat and skill based.
But Bethesda did a terrible job at streamlining the system in F3 and Obsidian wasn't much better in F:NV.
Let's have a look at the impact of attributes, shall we?
1. Skill points:
F1: 5 + Int x 2 (base value equals 2,5 Int)
F:NV: 10 + Int / 2 (base value euqals 20 Int)
2. Carry weigth:
F1: 25 + Str x 25 (base value equals 1 Str)
F:NV: 150 + Str x 10 (base value equals 15 Str)
3. Hit Points:
F1: 15 + Str + End x 2 + Lvl x (2+ End/2) (End determines them throughout the game)
F:NV: 95 + End x 20 + Lvl x 5 (high base value, level increases ignore End)
4. Action Points:
F1: 5 + Agi / 2 (base value equals 10 Agi)
F:NV: 65 + Agi x 3 (base value equals 22,33 Agi)
Also the value of APs is greatly dimnished
5. Sequence had to go with the transition to real-time, I guess.
6. Where's Armor class? Used to be Agi (+ possibly armor, perks)
7. Ranged combat distance modifiers - my biggest gripe - where are they? Perception used to be a major stat for sharpshooters. Also where are the Critical Hit tables gone?
Stats used to determine the character. But after F3, you'd get pretty playable characters with all attributes at 1, such a minor role they fill. Well, I guess you'd want some Str in F:NV to be able to use the guns.
My guess is that this streamlining was done to appease the fps crowd and avoid their annoyment by some useless figures. And to make the twich skills more important in gameplay, as opposed to stats.
But it pains me to see what was once such a great, model system, butchered so badly.

Speaking of Skyrim, I just overheard Ulfric and Galmar discuss his attempt to establish an alliance with High Rock, which wasn't successful. Never realized Ulfric made the attempt, although Galmar had a less than high opinion of the Bretons as a result. Ulfric took the news more pragmatically, saying they had no real issues with the Empire, while Galmar thought they were no better than elves. It was a bit of an Adama/Tigh moment to me.

I wouldn't expect High Rock or Hammerfell to aid either side until the civil war is settled. I think it's a good sign that Ulfric is already asking them for an alliance, though. Contradicts what people often assume of the Stormcloaks, that they are isolationist and intend to go it alone against the Dominion.LobselVith8 wrote...

BTW just saw on Bethsoft that Zenimax has registered an IP for something called "Hearthfire." Could be the 2nd DLC for Skyrim, since that's how we found out about Dawnguard. Hearthfire is a month in the Tamriel calendar corresponding to September. There's a necromantic holiday during that month. Maybe they'll do something Halloween themed.

Cannot wait for Dawnguard. Hearthfire I will assume for now will be Skyrim, and not MMO, related. Knowing there's something in the queue after Dawnguard is just...well...a thicker layer of icing.

I really thinks he wants to re-establish a kingdom for the Orcs but...who to side with?
On the one hand I doubt the Nords would give any land after the whole pissed about the Dunmer thing, plus there are no Orcs really fighting for them.
On the other other hand I doubt the empire would give back the Orc's land since its in one of their only provinces.
Where is the option to take Skyrim for myself....ah well.
Probably will side with the empire then, might give him a better chance in the long run. Or it might not...then again they probably are more friendly to Orcs then the Nords will be. At least they dont call them AWKS like Nords.
