Seems like some new armor types, weapons, mounted combat, new enemies, island region with either diverse landscape or changing weather, the rivers shown on part of it, not sure if its a new area or the region around solitude.

So depending on things, not bad amount of content for the price.

On a side note most of the larger DLC's for Oblivion were the same price.

Keep in mind we already have mounted combat for free with Patch 1.6

Never thought I'd say this, but I think it's a wait and see purchase for me. I don't like the new price point unless we're talking about a full-on expansion, and it doesn't sound like this is one. I guess it's a wait and see anyway, thanks bloody Microsoft.

It's depressing, since there really is nothing else on the game horizon.

You really must watch the trailer again with sound. Personally, I'm sold.

I'm on Team Dawnguard.

I contracted lycanthropy in Skyrim just to avoid ever becoming a vampie, so I'll take em down if I can.

patch 1.6 hasn't been released in its final form yet to general use. PC ussers that DLed it via steam only have a test version of it.

So far it's working well for me, but I haven't had a chance to test the mounted combat.

I started a new character and stole a horse in order to try it, but I have this hypothermia mod installed and I was freezing to death so I entered an inn to warm up. When I came back outside, my stolen horse ran away, and I don't have enough money to buy a horse yet.:(

I'll report back as soon as I procure another horse.

You know 20 dollars may seem like a lot but its Bethesda.
Skyrim really is an epic game and I feel like if Dawnguard adds a lot its worth it.

Besides we have it out for a whole month before PC players get it.

Hopefully Crossbows make use of the archery tree since at level 57 its going to suck having to use an under powered weapon.

I'm level 81, I don't have any leftover points to spend.

Crossbows BETTER be part of the Archery tree. I imagine they would be.

Personally I think that vampire form looks goofy. Happy for crossbows for finally making a return though.

Looking forward to it! Guess my Illusion Assasin might get infected after all... I wonder if there will be some new interesting powers also.

Thats going to be one great immortal battle; me as werewolf against them as proper vampires
And as far as the crossbow goes, it wont fit on any of my characters since my hunter is way better off with a bow but I might just make a new character a la Assassins Creed, shooting people with crossbows from the back of my horse

A few things about the trailer:

1). That big white giant was probably a frost giant as it somewhat resembles Karstaag from Bloodmoon.
2). Could that portal in the vampire fortress lead to the daedric realm of Coldharbour? That's Molag Bal's realm who is thought to be the founder of vampirism. Just a theory.
3). If the vampires can turn into demonic lords then perhaps the Dawnguard can also transform into something. Werebears?

Another thing I'm hoping for is this: if you get to choose between the vamps and the Dawnguard (which is likely) I hope that both factions have a grey element to them (like with the civil war) rather than being complete evil monsters vs noble paladins.

Team Dawnguard can transform into guards that have not, do not, and will never have arrows penetrate anything beneath their waistline.

Some things:

30 seconds into the trailer it shows a Falmer area so maybe that is something to do with the DLC
The creature that shows up at the 1:00 mark is not a Grahl like I thought but a Frost Giant it seems.

We saw the new vampire powers they referenced at play, and I think I caught some of those rumored new animations at play.
I honestly cant wait this seems like what I have been waiting for a new DLC.

Hopefully its not EITHER OR here.

While I'm not a fan of the price-tag, as long as it is fun to play and gives us some actual new aspects of a great game (in short I get my money's worth), I don't mind paying it because I am much more concerned with value than price.

If someone could guarantee me I'd like DA3 as much as I did Origins, I'd pay double the cost without thinking about it twice.  If it's a huge disappointment ala DA2, then I'd be peeved even if I got it in a bargain bin for $5.99. :D

The trailor looks great!

Vampire Falmer?

Wasn't there some mention of a Snow Prince and something to do with Falmer mentioned somewhere? My guess is that the Elder Scroll being used for the ritual will be obtained in a Falmer area, after a very long tense trek.

I wonder if my vampire blood will no longer boil in the sun when team Vampire succeeds in putting the little bugger out.

Price tag seems appropriate (assuming content and gameplay match-up) since they have openly stated: fewer but "more substantial" DLCs for Skyrim.  Oblivion only had Shivering Isle and KotN. FO3 had five very sizeable DLCs and FONV had 4 big DLCs.  When it comes to DLCs, Beth has shown...well, to me at least...that they do them big, and take them serious.  I can't help but think if they're charging $20, it's going to have some teeth (pun intended).  Shivering Isles was huge and they charged $20 for that, right?  I expect Dawnguard to be comparable.  So, there is precedent here.

Hell, I'm still amazed we got Old World Blues for $9.99.  It was virtually a complete game in content; and BW/EA, and virtually all other studios, charge the same price for 1-2 hour excuses (or worse, map packs) they call "DLC."  So, Dawnguard can probably justify a higher price, in light of Bethesda's post-game release history.  No problem with the higher price until they drop the ball, which for me has yet to happen.

So the vampires are going to blot out the sun? So when the crops fail and everybody but them starves to death who are they going to feed on? Somebody didn't think this through.

Give me my crossbow, time for some old fashioned vampire killing.

Hmm, I think I'm going vampire on my current run, especially for this - it would fit for my character to end up as a vampire regardless, considering he's not interested in joining the Companions and is already a cannibal and necromancer.

Next time I play a good guy, I'll try my hand at vampire hunting.

Also, do you think it's possible this expansion takes place on or near Solstheim? The setting looks somewhat similar, and Falmer and Frost Giants/Grahl seem to be involved to some capacity - and if a Lycanthropy perk tree is being added, it may tie it even more to Solstheim.

@Recon - Edible plants are shown to exist in caves and in the underground, so it's not unfeasible that blotting out the sun could work without causing mass starvation and death.

If they do that then you can be sure that certain people will complain they are redoing Blood moon.
Could be set in High Rock maybe.
