The place is also very isolated and prone to foreign invasion and takeover - vampires could've conquered it at some point and turned it into their playground for all we know.

That's really a bad thing, Bloodmoon while yes had a werewolf focus, the main conflict was between you and a Deadric prince. This however is a conflict between a groupe of powerful vampires who want to bloat out the sun and a group of guardians who protect the world from them. Even if it takes place in the same area, it's not the same or redoing Bloodmoon, in fact it's just adding to what was already a fantastic expansion.Giggles_Manically wrote...
If they do that then you can be sure that certain people will complain they are redoing Blood moon.
Could be set in High Rock maybe.

A few things about the trailer:
1). That big white giant was probably a frost giant as it somewhat resembles Karstaag from Bloodmoon.
2). Could that portal in the vampire fortress lead to the daedric realm of Coldharbour? That's Molag Bal's realm who is thought to be the founder of vampirism. Just a theory.
3). If the vampires can turn into demonic lords then perhaps the Dawnguard can also transform into something. Werebears?
Another thing I'm hoping for is this: if you get to choose between the vamps and the Dawnguard (which is likely) I hope that both factions have a grey element to them (like with the civil war) rather than being complete evil monsters vs noble paladins.

Looking at the map in the trailer it would seem to me that the Vampire's castle is in the absolute north west of Skyrim, near the border with High Rock.

Saw the trailer. Bleh. I have no idea why people are so into vampires. I'll probably play it, for lack of anything else to do.

Pretty good trailer breakdown...

I really didn't notice the vampire turning into bats until it was slowed down.

I kinda agree with Addai67. I would have preferred a DLC that further delves into the plotlines that already exist in the game. But that being said, I'm not gonna turn this one down. The story's premise from what I gather from the trailer seems decent, and the implimentation of Crossbows(!) and all the other gameplay additions the trailer shows are enough to warrant a blind, day 1 purchase from me. No question.
As for the $20 price tag. Bah. For anything Skyrim-related that means nothing. I paid $60 for Skyrim and If I knew then what I know now, I'd have gleefully paid 10x that much for it.

Only concern I have right now is that I'm an impatient PC user. How the hell am I going to survive an entire month knowing that the DLC is out and being played/enjoyed by a million people but not available to me? Damn, that's gonna be painful.
That's around 20 cents an hour.Giggles_Manically wrote...

For the 60 bucks I payed that is around 5 dollars an hour,
