Wow I love watching people come into a forum and say how mighty, amazing, and just damn superior they are to others.
I may be a complainer, but I dont act like I exist above my fellow gamers.
We all have our own POV to express, and more than likely live in nations that let us express them.
ME3 had DAY 1 DLC, that was mostly on the disc even, that is not justifiable.
It was a 10 dollar DLC for non-collector edition gamers and it was at most...1-1 and a half hours of content.
Dont come in here and act like you are above anyone.
Perhaps there are some that could come to the conclusion I feel superior to others when comparing positive posts vs negative, but it isn't me. That would require having the sim type of biased, bigoted prejudice as those making such assertions, and I do try and avoid that personally.
Bioware has right as well as the justification to charge for DLC, on the 1st Day or not; any company does. While it may be cool to get free stuff, it is certainly not mandatory. Don't wanna pay for it? Skip it; your choice.

I do not require a new faction; simply am hoping for new content in which I may make my own Slayer as I wish. Based on other factions in Skyrim, it should be optional, and I prefer to work solo the majority of the time.
By solo, do you mean adventuring without a companion? Due to companions jumping in front of me when I fight, I tend to venture alone myself.
As for Dawnguard, I like that there are vampires you can converse and side with; Morrowind seems to be the last time you could join a vampire clan, and it's nice to see the narrative provide an opportunity to do so again. I'm probably going to have my werewolf assassin side with the Dawnguard, and my Tribunal mage help his fellow vampires block the sun, which puts them in a bit of a role reversal from what they have done previously. I'm also curious to see what else is in store in the DLC.
Mostly;l Yes. I play without Companions other than the ones forced on the Player due to quests.
But I also dislike joining Factions as a rule; prefer to make choices on my own rather than having some predesigned set of rules to follow.
As for DG, it would be nice to have some DLC for later in the life of the Dragonborn, as Alduin is not much of a challenge; meant to met earlier than later, I believe. No stagnant bosses, but unique opponents that offer a challenge tactically and strategically.

But don't take that too much to heart - I wouldn't want to compromise your smug sense of self-assurance too badly.

You seem to have reading comprehension problems, as you've been operating under the assumption that people who don't fit within your very narrow frame of view want their DLC for "free", when that has not once been said or implied by anyone here other than yourself.

Feeling dandy; thanks for the concern.
And am willing to pay for DLC be it Skyrim or Bioware, though will wait on DG until the PC version is somewhat bug free.

Nice find didn't know about the return to Oblivion (don't really keep on my Skyrim news) and new perk trees?! Awesome I just hope the perk trees are unlocked in the vanilla game also so I can choose to do whatever prior to the DLC's quest/story.

So, we're finally gonna get to see Coldharbour, eh?
Well, this DLC is officially a lock - will be buying it the day it's released without a second thought.

Sounds pretty awesome, especially high level monsters. Something to fear in the wilderness perhaps, outside of mages and the odd vampire nothing really causes me much of a sweat anymore. I'm hoping these new enemies will change all that.

I think the line from the scanned page - "to earn perks" - suggests that we get perks by using our powers - at least for the Vampire Lord. I could be wrong, as I can't read the entire sentence from the scan.

It seems like in the DLC we can be on the "good side" or the "bad" side, I hope this is the case, since, y'know, I have no vamp characters.
Don't worry, I'm sure you can still join the vampire clan and become one of them in the Dawnguard add-on. Besides, nothing is stopping you from becoming a vampire anyway, right? Just visit a cave with vampires, let them attack you until you have Sanquinis Vampiris and you're settled.
I meant I DONT want to become a vampire, my main char is a paladin, and I RP.
So....yeah, I hope I can join the Dawnguard. If not, this dlc would be crap for me.
Of course you can join the Dawnguard. Why couldn't you?
Seems the Dawnguard are a perfect match for your paladin. I also have a paladin-like character, except he's more of a monster and daedra hunter than a real classical paladin (I'd say the label 'monster hunter' fits him more than the label 'paladin', but his skills do match those of a paladin). He's also a werewolf and he's totally gonna join the Dawnguard!

The stuff we get from Dawnguard will last us as long as the Skyrim main game lasts us, so in the end its worth it.
How do you know?
I suppose if we join the Vampire Lords and keep the abilities, it will last us for as long as we use them. For vampire protagonists, blocking the sun means an end to the sun weakening them, which would be worth it. I think people are also optimistic because of Bethesda's track record.
Yeah, I read it as meaning we would be getting stuff we could use in/throughout the main game and world. TBF lots of people do a vampy playthrough - I know I did on Oblivion and have yet to with Skyrim.
Which is why I place extra value on DLCs and expansion packs that add gameplay features to the main game. From the looks of it, once you have Dawnguard installed, you will forever be able to wield crossbows, have Werewolf and vampire perk trees to choose from, change your appearance when you go to the ratway in Riften, etc.
Also, what to make of this? :
Homes? As in, houses you can buy?Two new homes, one for each side of the conflict.

The fact that we have an extra perk tree probably means the level-cap will also increase. That means you'll probably be able to go up to, well, I don't know, lvl 90 or something. After all, you have a whole new perk tree to level all the way up to 100 now, that's probably gonna give you enough extra level-ups to earn you a few perks for in the vamp-lord or werewolf tree.

Usually when one of my characters gets to about level 60, He begins contemplating retirement. And if there was ever a good reason to start with a fresh character, Dawnguard is it.

I prefer to create one character and have said character be my canon character. Non canons nonexistant.
For example, while I created a bunch of characters in ME1, I only carried my very first character through the series.
DAO? Several characters, but only my very first carried into later installments.
DA2? Only created one character.
Other games(non Bioware)? One character.
Skyrim? One character. I'm doing everything I can with him. Level 81, completed most of the quests available, still has a few to do but most quest chains are completed.
Dawnguard will be an addition he will welcome.
