You know sometimes you just get a picture that is so awesome it deserves to be on like a D/D book or something:
Image IPB

Arcwind Point is my fave area in the game.
Just me, an ancient dragon and a horde of undead battling it out up and down the steps, around the tomb, and up a tower. Never has a three way fight been more epic than that.

Also thanks for the mod about those weapons Barbarossa just got it to play around with.
Looks kind of fun.
Set pieces and big well animated scenes are cool and all but nothing tops those moments where you capture something totally organic.

I've now got three concurrent playthroughs going between Skyrim, FO:NV, and FO3. There is something seriously strange about that. Currently have the following companions in play: Mod Elf companion Miravel and sometimes partner Lydia; badass Boone (always) and ED-E (always); and Dogmeat (and hopefully soon to have super-badass Fawkes).

Splitting my time between hunting Draugr, Forsworn, Falmer and Thalmor; to Fiends, (overpowered) Deathclaws (landmines are your friend - and not even a Mother or Alpha-Male can survive a gauntlet of 12 evenly spaced), Nightstalkers, and a--hole Legionaires; to Talon Company Mercs, Feral Ghouls, Mire Lurks and Super Mutant Brutes and Overlords.

Currently engaging in the finer points of enchanting and maxing out damage on my dual ebony war axes/hammers and which two enchantments, and mix, are really the best for each piece of my armor set; to creating enough weapon repair kits to keep my Hunting Shotgun and revolver fully functional with max DAM/DPS and reloading enough.50 cal MG ammo to keep Boone stocked (since he goes through it like pooh through a goose); to finding enough Nuka-Cola Quantum to make an arsenal of Nuka-Genades (my favorite weapon in DC) and finding enough .44 Mags with Scopes to repair the one rapidly degrading good one I always carry.

Yes, it's a crazy, insane and very mixed-up (but thoroughly enjoyable) world that's beginning to blend together night after night.

I suppose what this all really tells me is that I'm ready for Dawnguard.

My skyrim playthrough is me as the lone wolf as stealth does not intertwine well with stupid AI companions that make noise and step into traps and get caught all the time. Also the characters have no personality and are just recycled copies.

FO NV has a great companion system and it really feels like an adventure to save the Mojave wasteland. I downloaded the no companion limit mod and my party consists of Boone (2nd in command), Arcade (medic), Lily (Bruiser melee),  Veronica (tank), Raul (mechanic, tech expert), ED-E (scout and support), and Willow (the cheerful peacekeeper and heart of the group).

It all plays like a big fanfic and I love it

Great photo.  Probably awesome on full screen.

Oh, and on the weapon mod, YW.  The shield variants are pretty cool, and quite useful as well, if you're sword and boarding at all.  The large shields scale up pretty well, armor protection wise, and fighting staves...seriously?  And remember:

It's DUAL HAMMA TIME!!!!

I keep reading that people are thinking that the main chunk of the DLC is going to be Vampire vs Dawnguard.

But there is going to be a big dungeon about the Falmer.
I hope that is true since more Falmer content will be good.

Because no matter what shape they take killing elves never gets old.

Todd Howard said there are going to be 20 new dungeons - I have a hard time believing all of them will be solely for the main quest. It should be interesting to see what all Beth has up its sleeve with this one.

skyrim is not a game for followers, the mechanics and animations in New Vegas and fallout 3 were much more smoother and allowed for seamless integration wherever you went.

Er, I have to say no on that.  Followers were very buggy in FO3 and if I recall they actually were shoehorned in late in development.  The main bug is that they would sometimes wig out on friendly NPCs or vice versa.  They also had terrible pathing.  FNV improved matters greatly, with better pathing and AI.  Both games had friendly fire, though FNV had a perk to reduce it, and followers always set off traps- which nullified the perk you could take so to keep the PC from triggering floor traps.

I'd say all three games had follower problems, with FNV the best.

Lol I loved playing along with her insanity.

But as to the DLC I'm more wanting to see/hear about the buildable house. Least I think he said soemthing about two of them in the DLC.

How do you take screenshots without the crosshair and dash?  Or do you have those disabled?  I was thinking of doing that.  It would be fun to play with no targeting help and no compass.  You'd actually have to pay attention to landmarks.

Yeah, the one from E3 yesterday. Here it is:

www.youtube.com/watch

Oh, and here's a little bonus I found while searching for the video above - an interview I hadn't even seen before with some new tidbits of information:

www.youtube.com/watch

He says Dragonbone weapons are stronger than Daedric ones, and that you can craft bolts for your crossbow - sounds super kick ass to me.

EDIT: Listening to that again, I think I might have misunderstood what Mr. Howard was trying to say - I think he was talking about the depth and uniqueness of the content in Dawnguard compared to simply releasing 20 more dungeons as DLC.

Open the console (` by default) and type:

tfc "toggle free camera" to set up a good angle.
tm "toggle menu" makes everything invisible that is not the game.

Lets you take some much better screen shots then normal. I cant however recall the method to move your character without moving the camera like Bethesda can do in its developer shots.

Yeah, I just watched that one a bit ago - I say, he's got to be one of the most honest, down-to-earth people in the biz. I respect that.

It also sounds like they wanna just keep adding onto Skyrim indefinitely - which means I'll be playing Skyrim indefinitely, it seems.

If you go into the settings, you can make the HUD completely invisible.

Wow I just watched that Joystiq interview and I honestly think that Todd Howard is now my fave developer ever.

There was no BS about Artistic integrity, or future products, or DRM.
Just a guy honestly excited about his job, and proud of his fans.

Its good to know that there is at least one cool guy in the biz. Who can also admit making a mistake and strives to make things better, rather than just pretending they are perfect artists who **** golden eggs.

Yeah, Bethesda and CD Projekt RED are the best RPG developers right now. Not only the best as in they make the best games, but the best as in they're simply amazing people who are passionate about what they do and really seem to care about their fans.

Bethesda and CD Projekt RED rule! :wizard:

I bet it just peeves EA so much to watch so many people ignoring their attempts at making RPGs right now.

I mean more people are tuning into watch a DLC announcement then anything EA is offering.
You cant buy that kind of loyalty, you earn it.

EA is attempting at making RPGs right now? Didn't know that. Must have missed it. :innocent: Oh well, who cares? :wizard:

...is this a thread about Skyrim, or about--I hate to use the word, but it applies rather well--fanboyism? I must have missed the change.
