I'm inclined to agree with you, for what it's worth.

You haven't played Fallout New Vegas? *boggles*greengoron89 wrote...
I'm sad to say I've only played a single Obsidian game - KOTOR2, and it wasn't very good IMHO. But I blame LucasArts for screwing that one up more than anything tbh.

EA is attempting at making RPGs right now? Didn't know that. Must have missed it. :innocent: Oh well, who cares?
And how do you get it back?Giggles_Manically wrote...
Open the console (` by default) and type:
tfc "toggle free camera" to set up a good angle.
tm "toggle menu" makes everything invisible that is not the game.
Lets you take some much better screen shots then normal. I cant however recall the method to move your character without moving the camera like Bethesda can do in its developer shots.

Well, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Definitely get the Enhanced with all the DLCs.Skelter192 wrote...
I haven't either. Steam Summer sale is coming I might buy it then. I really hated Fallout 3, as someone who thinks FO1/2 are some of the best games ever, so I never gave New Vegas a chance. Still NV had some stuff from Van Burean and peopel from the original team. I'll try it eventually hopefully before Wasteland 2 hits because when it does I won't be doing anything else.
Anywho who says "selling out to the casual gamers" needs a kick in the assAddai67 wrote...

Watched the Todd Howard interview. People in some thread were knocking him for not being innovative. He said as much in that interview, in the context of saying that that continuity has allowed them to continue offering mod tools. All the haters who say he doesn't know that he's making the same game over and over and is only doing that to attract casual players can take a flying leap off High Hrothgar.

I like Todd. I don't care what anyone says. When he talks about games, I nod my head. And I want to pinch his cheeks.

From a writing standpiont sure (only played NV and some of AP), but Bethesda is much better at level/world design and atmosphere and gameplay in my experience. Beth also isn't nearly as bad with bugs and they're not that great to begin with.GodWood wrote...

Also the DLCs are some of the best available for any game.

Yeah, I've always liked hearing Todd speak. I really like his humble, no nonsense, no BS attitude, and I really like his total lack of pretension and theatrics when he speaks about his company's products.
He never comes across arrogant or that he knows what's best for his customer base. They simply put out what they think players will like, put on their thick skin and big boy boxers, and adjust it based on some hard criticisms. Bethesda doesn't look like they take anything personal. They merely adjust accordingly, and Todd's interaction with fans only reinforces that perception in my view. He admits when they screw the pooch (FO3's ending--"We probably screwed that up," here's Broken Steel), and he doesn't throw critical reviews in fan's faces as some sort of limp developer response to justified and pointed criticisms of his products.
He's humble, straightforward, and completely unassuming. It comes through loud and clear, and that probably does as much to sell games and excite fans, as Bethesda's games themselves.
I think there is a clear distinction to be drawn between Todd's interaction with the public and that of many other AAA developers. I am pleased to see he and his company so richly rewarded for producing such fantastic products, and bending over backwards to keep their fans fairly happy, excited and engaged.
If people think that's fanboyism or that I'm "immature" or without good taste that I might be alluding to Bioware's failures on their own forums...well...you ought to just save the effort and keyboard strokes, because I honestly don't give *Edit*

So many modern companies are all flash and no substance these days that Bethesda stands out all the more. They dont nickel and dime their customers they treat them with respect.
Hell Todd Howard was talking about how much work he was going to, to get console players a FREE service.

Exactly. Companies like these are rare these days. As of lately I've only seen 2 companies being this awesome: Bethesda and CD Projekt RED (creators of The Witcher and The Witcher 2).
As far as I know, they are the only two companies left who truly seem to care about their loyal fans. They threat us, the fans, as adult and mature people. And no arrogant "artistic integrity" ****, but true humbleness and honesty towards their fans. And that is how you keep fans loyal. Take notes BioWare, as you guys seems to have a problem to keep your fans loyal these days.
