I've downloaded so many mods off the Steam workshop this week. Today I found a mod that adds Brynjolf & Vex as followers.

So, now Karliah, Brynjolf, and Vex are recruitable companions

Nice - how about Devlin? He's my favorite shady character in the guild, his accent sounds so cool, like a young Michael Caine or Jason Statham.

Sadly, no Devlin yet.  The creator of the mod as added.

Hah, I'm a 360 gamer so no mods for me, but giving me an essential mount as well as new essential NPC's as available companions would be cool.

Is there any way to force your companion to wear armor because im trying to get lydia to wear Ancient Nord armor but she wont put the chest piece on. just the boots and bracers..
(I play on xbox so i can't use mods)

Without using console command you have to keep trying to add and remove different pieces from her inventory.

Not sure if it will be specifically possible to make Lydia wear Ancient Nord armor, but you can make her or other companions wear things they might not wear at first by adding and removing various armors from their inventory.

Isn't Ancient Nord armor considered light armor? I think she'll only wear heavy armor. Of course, I have been wrong before, so...

Edit: Nevermind, it is considered heavy armor. I never use it, so I'm just blowing smoke rings out my arse here.

It's heavy armor, same stats as iron.

You can get some companions that favor heavy or light armor or another to switch, or at least I was able to do it without using console commands back around the time of Patch 1.1 or so

^No, it's heavy armor. My heavy-armored Breton wore it, although it looked a lot less impressive on her than on the Orcish bandit leader I looted it from. She looked like she was going to a club or something, haha.

If you have the pickpocket perk that allows you to steal clothes that are being worn, you could perhaps steal Lydia's other armor and thus forcing her to wear Ancient Nord?

Ah well i think they wear whatever has the highest damage protection which i'm playing on a wood elf that wears light armor and uses a bow. So my heavy skill is pretty low.

Yes it's based on armor rating of the piece. So annoying when you're trying to use followers as a mule and they insist on playing dress up with the best loot. lol

I love Erandur... he's so positive and sweet, but still Dunmer badass at the same time. Love it when he calls dragons or mudcrabs "filthy n'wah." He grew up in the Pale which I found surprising.

They sometimes don't even do it with the highest armor rating. I wanted to max my enchanting and was enchanting clothes and rags when my skill was 99. I dumped some of them on J'zargo, and yes, when we exited a building, he was suddenly only wearing a pair of ragged trousers with fortify destruction on them. xD

Yeah i was thinking maybe if i enchanted the armor if it would make her wear it. Which i'll go try that now.

Edit: Just tried it it didn't work so it looks like Lydia will be wearing steel till i find something better for her.

Poor Vuljotnaak.  No sooner had Alduin resurrected him from his burial mound, and he stretched his wings for his first flight of re-birth, he was struck down by a Daedric arrow.  Dude shattered like glass.  I almost felt bad.  Almost...

Nopre, that definitely doesn't work.  This is why I keep having to shuffle stuff with them because I want them to wear their nicely enchanted gear but they always take the item in their class with best base stats.

A little more info of Dawnguard and lycanthropes (from Steam):

Werewolves:
You get a new perk tree that revolves around mauling enemies. The more you maul, the more you move up the tree. Howard explained that Bethesda have added the tree to help werewolves keep up with high level characters. Here are some abilities spotted on the tech tree.

Bestial Strength: do 25% more damage as a werewolf
Totem of Terror: Werewolf Howl of Terror affects even higher level enemies.
Animal Vigor: 100 point bonus to health and stamina in beast form.
Gorging: Feeding heals twice as much health.

Does someone have a link to that 4gb Skyrim mod?
I just keep getting more and more CTD.

Yeah, It's called Patch 1.3.

The LAA 4gb launcher you're talking about will not fix your problem since, again, patch 1.3 gives Skyrim 4gb support already.  What you are experiencing is a new problem introduced with patch 1.06.      As far as I know, there's no fix for it yet.  But it's well known.  The Beth forums are crawling  with people reporting stability issues with the new patch.

FYI - I seemed to receive some sort of patch while looking for info on Steam, though it could have been an older one I missed.

What do people think of the rumor that the DLC takes place IN SKYRIM?
Not in a DLC AREA but actually added to Skyrim?

The wiki says that it seems Castle Dawnguard is in the Rift, and that Castle Volkhair is seemingly off the north coast of Haafingar.

If it is indeed set all inside Skyrim that would be fun.
Like having to go ask for the Elder Scroll back from Urag if you gave...oh wait that wont be so much fun.

There are supposedly islands off the coast of Skyrim. One of them was controlled directly by the empire and used as a base to explore the Sea of Ghosts. And beyond that is Atmora. So, there's a lot you can do in Skyrim territory. I'm assuming the vampire castle will be in an inaccessible area. I imagine old vampires can hide themselves pretty well.

Now that you mention it there are lots of islands in game, that have nothing on them, that they could drop a new castle onto....

Hopefully you dont become the leader of another group of people.
Dear lord imagine how busy you could be....

Signing off on contracts for the DB, running the college for the mages, organizing the thieves guild. tracking down more stuff for the Bards, helping the Companions out so more, etc.

Can the Dragonborn really add "Vampire Lord" or "Vampire Hunter" onto there as well?
I mean how many verses does the Dragonborn's story have to be exactly?

Werebears? Where? Bears? Men that are bears?

But in a more serious note they were shown as an idea in the gamejam video a while back.

Wow...being a thief is freaking fun right now.

I dont buy horses, I steal them.
I dont need rewards since I pick the QG's pocket for it
I dont need arrows since I steal them from guards
I literally am rolling in money and laughing my butt off at how easy this all is.

My Khajiit is a rich, deadly, thieving, assassin and loving every minute of it.

I kinda wish we could use bears, sabre tooth cats, etc. as mounts (especially after the 1.6 mounted combat). Maybe I played too much Sacred 2: Fallen Angel back in the day, I dunno.

I played as a Seraphim! Image IPB

If you could wrangle one, ala Red Dead Redemption horses, that would be pretty cool.

(Or maybe I'm still mad about ME3 not having Krogans on Kakliosaurs).
