@Addai:
Despite not liking the term...a great many gamers are VERY entitled.

Just look at all the Baulder's Gate players who are enraged at some of the changes to their beloved game. THEY RAISED THE LEVEL CAP!!! RUINED FOREVER!

Obviously Skyrim Dunmer hate Argonians because they had invaded Morrowind shortly after Red Mountain eruption and killed every Dunmer they could find. The lizards are lucky that Nerevarine, the Protector of Morrowind and yadda yadda, disappeared.

I wonder whether Barenziah and Helseth are still alive. Wouldn't be surprised if the lizards killed them as well (note to self: kill all Argonians next time I happen to play Skyrim).

Morgiah and all her heirs are likely dead, killed by Thalmor agents (à la The Mountain).

Though it's highly likely they fled long before, considering they're probably the craftiest individuals in Tamriel.

It wasn't a fight, people. And most of you were there to see it. it was the silly discussion about Shadowmere's private parts.

Anyway, my current character is a 38th level nord sneak.  I'm debating whether to continue leveling him and then using him for Dawnguard, or whether to start a new character  for Dawnguard.

Can I still cure lycanthropy after finishing the Companions' quest line?

Yes.  Keep an extra hag's head for yourself and after you cure Vilkas and Farkas there will be an opportunity to cure yourself.  Or maybe only after you cure one of them, but IIRC there was a bug where curing yourself cut off the quest for the other brother.  At any rate that's the order I did it in- Farkas, Vilkas, myself.

There's a mod that adds An-Xileel border guards in Eastmarch. I installed it but haven't found their fort yet, I'm looking forward to it.  Not voiced, though.  It would be great if it came with a story quest.

Although I'm not sure it's correct that there are still Argonians in southern Morrowind.  I had understood that they retreated back to Black Marsh after the Hist was satisfied it had put enough smack down.

Wait, we got moderatated?  For what??

^It appears the discussion (and I use the term loosely) about Shadowmere's gender was the culprit.

You know I hear a lot of you talk about sneak-thief builds, etc. I...I...just can't do it for an entire playthrough. Don't get me wrong, I go through periods where I do a little thievery and I enchant the hell out of a few pieces of equipment and sneak...like...and den of vampires, one shotting them with a bow, but I just don't think I could do it as a primary character method. The urge hits me too often that I absolutely must shield bash someone and brawl. What is that about, really?

I get that others like sneak play, but I use it as something to break up the monotony of brute force and violence game play. Magic...the same thing. I dabble in it, but don't think I could ever do a playthrough as a mage. I read these posts all the time and listen intently as to how a mage character overcomes his/her squishiness, and similar matters, but I have a hard time forgetting who, or what I was, in a previous playthrough.

You know I probably just settled the matter in my own head, now that I think about it. Others probably grow just as tired of repetitive melee combat as I do straight-up rogue or magic user.

Honestly, I think I just really suck at role playing and have very little imagination. My characters and skill builds vary minimally between playthroughs. I primarily stick to heavy armor, blocking, one-handed/shield, dual-wield, two-handed and archery, with differing mixtures of usage and emphasis on each playthrough. I'm so damn narrow-minded I swear, but the beauty of Skyrim I guess is that it still offers hours upon hours of entertainment, even with such narrow preferences as the few skills I enjoy.

I don't like mages either...and the magic in this game is just unbalancing which makes it worse. Firehosing mages with no delay on their spells...so I just play Breton now so I won't at least be insta-dead every time I run into a mage.

My Khajiit is getting so good he can just drop a mage with an arrow to the kn- face without being seen.

But yes its INSANELY annoying to try and catch a bloody frost using, back peddling, healing mage ...when they dont seem to EVER run out of mana.

That and the favorites thing is so borked that it's about impossible to quickly switch weapon sets. I gave up on my dual wielder because it was such a headache. It seemed like most of the time my assassin ended up with one of her weapons in one hand and something random in the other, which is not good in the middle of a fight. I don't like level scaling systems much either because it just seems like my character is never getting any more powerful...my level 30 thief in Nightingale armor doesn't feel much different than my level 1 in rags.

The NPC mages though are just ridiculous. One I can deal with, but often i'm finding myself facing three or four op firehosing, backwards running mages at once.

It has been a while for certainty, but I believe I recall a Restorationist with some trining can ruin their mana pools. I can recall watching them become annoyed and charging into melee over something, and cannot recall another source of like protection that I have used; perhaps Spell Resist?

Just got to the end of the Dark Brotherhood quest-line, cant decide whether to kill or not kill Amaund Motierre. I dont care about the jewels on his body though.

I just wish more was revealed about this guy, whether he is really a member of the High Council or working for one, whether he or his possible boss would be a competent Emperor, What reforms would happen after Titus Mede II's death that Amaund mentions. With these details the decision would be easier but since it seems we don't really know I always find it hard to decide since i get heaps involved in the game and want The Empire to be awesome and capable of crushing the Thalmor =D

Recently installed Deadly Dragons, Dynamic Injuries, ASIS, Real Wildlife, Radiance and Deadly Combat - damn this game has become really hard now.

I can't even defeat a low level dragon unless I get the entire town to help.

I came across a dragon fighting eight wild werewolves. I waited until the dragon killed them all, then used Ritual Stone daily power to resurrect them. With 8 zombie werewolves, plus my follower and several nearby hunters and bandits, we barely got the dragon down to 60% health. Finally I gave up and ran away.

The screenshot is blurry because my character had been drinking mead and was a little bit tipsy at the time (Imp's More Complex Needs)

You know some of the mercenaries you meet in taverns and stuff, like that mage in Riften? If they die will somebody ever take their place? Because after trying some difficulty raising mods, the life expectancy of my followers isn't that good. Although it may have been my own storm call shout that fried him.

There are a couple of instances during the DB questline where you're put in a situation like that - to kill or not to kill. "should I kill Cicero?" is another.

In those situations I resort to role-playing to decide.  Specifically, I ask myself:  What would the Night Mother want me to do?  Makes the decision easier w/ regards to Cicero, at least.  I seriously doubt the night mother wants him dead.  Amand Mottiere on the other hand... that one's Hard to say.  The only person you meet who, for sure, wants him dead is the  Emporer,  who asks you to kill him as a favor.  But that's not proper protocol.  You don't "kindly ask the Dark Brotherhood" to kill someone.  Instead, you perform the Black Sacrament, and then you prepare a tribute for the assassin.  And he doesn't bother with either one.  So I usually  spare Amand Motiere.

Leave no witnesses alive.  That's my advice.  :innocent:  The Council is 99.99% sure to be incompetent no matter what, so don't count on them for anything.

I had the funniest dragon encounter.  Got attacked out on the tundra and fought the dragon for a while, then he flew off.  We hit him with some ranged magic attacks and when I ran up to where he landed, he was cornered by a mudcrab and a wild bull (added by Real Wildlife mod).  The mudcrab got the last hit in and killed the dragon.  I couldn't stop laughing.  I would have taken this heroic dragonslaying mudcrab home as a pet, but unfortunately my follower had other ideas.

Ten seconds later the cow the dragon had been fighting fell out of the sky dead in front of me.

Just another night in Tamriel.

Yep, followers can only die from friendly fire. (Unless you have a mod that makes them mortal.)

It was a sad day when I learned this, as I had already lost quite a few followers.

They don't respawn, no.  I have a Followers Don't Die mod.  Otherwise you just have to look for another one.  There are lots of them around.

@naughty99- They can die from hostile fire, too.  It's just that enemies tend to leave them alone if they're down on one knee.  But I have had followers die in Falmer dungeons when I was nowhere near, probably from lingering poison effects.  I've also had them die in traps.

When they go down on one knee, they become invincible to damage from anyone except the player.

No, they don't- really. They can and do die from hostile fire.
