I guess he's not called the Unending for nothing?

Makes you wonder about Wuunferth.  See, Nords do magic, too.  :bandit:

Well, he is suspected of dabbling in necromancy...

Those are just Calixto's vile slanders.  He has conjuration stuff, but doesn't carry black soul gems or act shady like Falion- not that I think Falion is a bad guy, he just walks on the dark side.

I like Wuunferth.  Grumpy old Nords are the best.

I'm realizing that this is really it for me as a TES fan.  TES VI is likely going to be one of the more exotic areas, my guess is Elsweyr.  I think the beasties are cute but mostly I'm meh about them.  And Bethesda has already done my 2nd favorite race, the Dunmer.  So this is the pinnacle.  :crying:  I think that's why I was disappointed with the DLC not being very Nord.  Hopefully Hearthfire will be more Nord-centered.

Why do the Orcs taunt by saying, "Better pray to Stendarr!"? Is this a reference to one of the older games I haven't played?

Stendarr is the god of mercy and and basically is the compasionate judge type chap.
I think.

I personally want to see TES VI set on the Sumerset Isles.

With the whole point being to topple the Thalmor.
Maybe reform the Morag Tong, or put an end to a world ending plot by the Thalmor.

Also...anyone wonder how they will handle the civil war choice in later games?
I mean having another province cede is probably a BIG thing.

I think perhaps the best way to handle player choices in games that result in huge impact on the game world is for the developers to pick one choice and say that was the canon. I certainly won't mind in 2016 (or whenever the next TES game is released).

The alternative is either choices that don't have any significant impact, or something like the Dragon Break.

I'm hoping the thalmor situation gets resolved in a dlc. My werewolf nord wants more thalmor to eat vengence for their oppression...
Edit: Also, I just spent the last several hours dealing with a nasty bug where Jorrvaskr wouldn't let me leave without freezing my game in a loading screen. Thanks Bethesda.

The Nords in Skyrim are such wusses compared to the ones in Bloodmoon. I think only Njada Stonearm could really fit in the meadhall of Thirsk.

No wonder Sovngarde is so empty in the game; Ulfgar is probably the last worthy Nord that ended up in there. Certainly none of the ancient Nord larpers, aka Stormcloaks, would ever make it past Tsun.

It's being imperial that made them into fat, lazy mead swilling milk drinkers. The dragonborn will sort them out. *cracks dragon whip*

Its probably because most Nords took up worshipping the Nine Divines over the ideal of Sovngarde and the older Nordic pantheon.

But that happens in history.
The longer two cultures are in contact the more they start looking the same.
Same gods, tv shows, jokes, food etc.

However with things separating a return to their roots may just happen.

Also check in your "Quest completed" tab.

They now have "DAWNGUARD QUESTS" completed.

^Haha, those are adorable!

Okay, my Nord is a werewolf. Now I have to wait for Dawnguard to play her again. I might continue my low-level Orc now...

^ Hooray! You know, I really like Redguards. I didn't realize how much until I made my second one. (The first made it to Whiterun, then I went character crazy, and made a few more, and didn't get back to her playthrough).

What is her name? She's very pretty!

Will she be a 1-handed warrior, or are you planning something else for her?

I seem to have a set play style now. Every character I create, I plan something different for, and regardless, I end up using bows more than my primary weapons. I'm at level 21 with Minya, my Redguard, and Archery is her highest skill, and she's a 2-handed battleaxe-wielding warrior. Always the Archery.

I've been avoiding all magic use in this playthrough, which has been driving me crazy. I could sure use some muffle. Posted Image (And frenzy, and calm, and...and...)

Thanks. I don't play dark characters that often, but I really like the way she looks. Her hair is actually super long. I had no idea when I picked it, because you can't see the back in character creation, but it looks pretty cool actually, so I'll keep it.

Her name is Asmira. I thought that could be a Redguard name. She is dual wielding. Sword and dagger at the moment, but later two swords. Every now and then she neaks a little and takes a shot with a bow, but it's mostly dual wielding. I need to get a scimitar like the Alik'r warriors have...

Very nice. It's awesome to see some Redguard love out there. I don't think they get a lot of action, judging from pc photos posted in this thread.

I picked up a Scimtar near the Brinehammer (NW of Dawnstar), and smithed the crap out of it, and the stats were not that great. However, a lot of that is probably due to my 1-handed skill being so low in this playthrough.

When I joined the DB, and talked to N@zir, I enjoyed it that he recognized my character as Redguard. (Saadia didn't say anything). Gotta love N@zir. Every time I hear his voice, all I can think about is his 3-Dog speel from Fallout 3.

Ah, and what about Kematu? Does he recognize you're Redguard? Haha, yeah, N@zir's voice is great. Really suits him, low and dark. Not sure if Asmira will join the Dark Brotherhood though. I haven't figured out which guild faction she will fit in.

Redguards are pretty cool, although my favorite race are probably the Khajiit. I mean, they're kitties! Can't resist that, lol.

Seems like I have to go to Danwstar then. I believe the scimitar indeed isn't that great, but it's fun to walk around with it for the lower levels. Maybe with smithing and one-handed investments it will work.

I only tried Erandur for a little bit. In my playthrough, he used a mace, but yeah, he wasn't particularly good in combat once his mana runs out.

He will take mana potions, but man does he suck them down like crazy.  OTOH, I would just as soon give them to him as crank out a bunch to sell.  I gave him some enchanted equipment, improved his mace and added an absorb health enchantment (which I do for all companions as soon as I can), forced him to level and now he's quite a beast.  He's using fireballs now.  So we're two fire mages and sometimes my atronach, too- holy inferno batman!  The good part is that because of Dunmer fire resistance, I can drop fireballs on him and not have to worry about him too much.

We're doing the Book of Love quests now.  He's turning my Stormcloak into a Mara believer.  Posted Image

edit note- He is a pure destruction mage (I think he has restoration, too, though I don't see him use it), so it may help if you have Balanced Magic because otherwise he will suffer from destruction's relative weakness.

I'll give him a shot in this playthrough, as I haven't killed him for Vaermina yet. Posted Image I'm bored of Eola and her missing dialogue, and I'm not sure I want to deal with Marcurio's snippiness. I'm still using Belrand for now, but I'm open to trying new talent. I think I just need to make a decision to keep a follower for longer than a few levels, to see what they can really do. I think I probably ditch them too quickly.

So does Erandur make comments about the Book of Love quests? If he does, I am going to be so bummed that I didn't take him along for that. I just finished up that quest line over the weekend.

I don't believe Kematu said anything about it, actually.

I also love Khajiit. I love their blink-blinking eyes, and I just want to squeeze the stuffing out of them. I usually join the DB very soon into a game, so that they quit sending Khajiit assassins after me. I just feel awful about killing them. Hircine's quest is the worst for that.

Have you tried playing as an Orc? They're kinda over-powered if you play warrior class, but I just love them. Who am I kidding, I pretty much love every single race, for one reason or another. I think my second Orc will probably be a vampire lord.

Well, there was only one scimtar there that I found, and it wasn't actually on the Brinehammer. There was an overturned boat on the shore that had one underneath it. You can also find a bunch of them if you clear out the Dainty Sload, near Solitude.

If you want an upgradable scimitar and you're playing on the PC I can just recommend the Redguard armor and weapon mod:

skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/13500

Maybe you're even playing a male Redguard? Then the armor would fit very well too! To bad that the armor isn't working for females at the moment.

I have created an Orc a little while back. Man, she's ugly. xD She looks kinda adass, but I can't really get into playing her at the moment. The berserk ability is very powerful though. That draugr lord in Bleak Falls Barrow couldn't even get out of his coffin before he was dead. I'll get back to her at some point. I just have to think of stuff to do for her. I can't really imagine her in the Companions, for instance.

Ooh, thanks. That does look good. Unfortunately my Redguard is a lady, so she can't use the armor. The helmet looks cool. I think one of the smithing enhancement mods I have installed has already added a crafteable scimitar, but I don't which smithing perks I need for it. Probably just steel. I'll install this mod anyway, because this weapon is apparently more powerful than the default scimitar. I can use it longer then.:)

You're welcome.

Actually you should check out all the armors of that modder, if you ask me. Because they're all pretty awesome :D

Can't play without them anymore.

Sadly no, he does thank you for bringing him to the Mara shrine and says he always wanted to make a pilgrimage there.  Honestly he's the sweetest guy in all of Skyrim.  He has a lot of commentary- I keep being surprised by new lines.  But even his are getting repetitive now so I might switch him out for Aranea.  I like Belrand, too.
