Orgnar sent some hired thugs after me for swiping a Black-Briar Mead on my current playthrough - me and Uthgerd slaughtered them, then I stormed into Sleeping Giant Inn ready to lay the beat down on that fool.

When I walked up to him though, he looked at me, said I was an alright guy, and gave me a Steel Sword as a gift. I was completely speechless, so I just called it even and let him go on about his business. It was one of the more bizarre moments I've experienced in the game.

The weirdest moment for me was seeing a convict run right through a Forsworn camp to my hiding Khajiit.

Then giving me an item right as he was gutted.
Then the guy chasing him ran up to me (Im still in stealth) and getting gutted by the same guy.

Then the Forsworn looks at me and says "Good Afternoon" as he walks off.

Needless to say I was a bit confused.

Who hired the thugs?

Orgnar does if you theft from the Sleeping Giant. I guess if anything goes missing they always point the blame at any stranger who happens to be in town. Delphine is a sweet target for pickpocketing too...so I almost always have someone out to get me.

I'm always surprised when there are non-hostile Forsworn. I mean, I used to think it had something to do with the Forsworn Conspiracy quest, but I realized that it did not. Last night, for instance, we talked to Kesh/Peryite, then walked down the hill, and there were 3 Forsworn just standing there. I went over to one of the girls, and she said, "what are you looking at?" Nothing, ma'am. Moving right along.

In regard to the hired thugs, we got attacked outside of Haemar's Shame. The weird thing is that we were waiting for Barbas (insolent dog!), and after waiting for an hour, saw these guys lumbering about. The note said it was from "Uriel", or something like that. I also haven't stolen squat from anyone in this playthrough. Yet.

Wow, you know the Septims are BAMFs when their long dead Emperors start sending hired thugs after people from beyond the grave... :o

Maven once set thugs after me.

So I took all their gear and dropped it on her dining room table.
Two can play at this game lady.

Yeah, I kinda thought that myself. My original thought was, "why does that seem so familiar?", then "omg, that can't be", then "nah".

Maven sent some thugs after Luis Letrush, the Magnificent Multiplying Man, one time while we were near Winterhold. I only know this, because we saw him run by in front of us. We came over after he and one of the thugs was dead, and read the note from Maven. I was overjoyed that that guy was finally dead. Upon returning to Whiterun, though, I discovered that there were still 3.5 of them outside the stables. Still talking in sync.

I didn't help him, because he let Frost get killed in that playthrough.

Those thugs are great at the start...usually they drop alot of good gear. If i'm playing a weak character then I usually just run into the house where Ralof/Hadavar is to even up the odds...or stand on a wood pile and pelt them with arrows.

Yeah, I was kinda wishing I had stolen something sooner, to get their enchanted equipment.

Oh wait, that sounded bad.  Image IPB

I freaking LOVE the poison pickpocket perk.

I literally just snuck through an entire bandit den and dropped them without a sound.
Not so tough now are you dummy?

OMG, my pickpocket skill is awful. I seriously need to level it up, so I can get one of my 4 remaining achievements, and call it a day.

I tried to pickpocket Balgruuf, and even with potions, my skill sucks, so I get caught every time. Dang it, I need that key to the Whispering Door!

2 things....  Unless you're really doing things wrong, it's hard to fail to pick pocket that key from Balgruuf's mage.  The success chance is  som3ething like 86%.

Second, you could always do what the kid suggests:  Just kill the mage.  He's right.... no one will care.  of course, you lose out on a Whiterun merchant, but whatever.

Steal the key from Farengar - it's far easier, even with a low pickpocket level. Alternatively, you can just kill him and loot it from his corpse. You also won't have to listen to his annoying accent and condescending tone anymore after that, so that's a plus.

Pickpocket is actually really easy to raise. You can just run through towns pickpocketing guards and NPCs like crazy, and it won't take long to get to 100 Pickpocketing like that. I honestly don't think it's worth it, but it's up to you.

It's definitely worth it to pickpocket. That's where most of my wealth comes from, fencing all the stolen jewelery. All the White Run guards were nice in helping my thief upgrade from iron to steel arrows too.

Why do I always try to pickpocket the Jarl, then? Image IPB Thanks for the advice, I'll try that.

I did realize that one of the times I got caught, I had loaded, and the Jarls' brother (the human weapon) was sitting in that chair in his bedroom. I didn't even notice him until it was too late.

What surprised me was how easy it was for me to pickpocket people in the thief guild. I guess the NPC's, even if they are a thief, must not have much for skill.

Y'allsies seen the Dawnguard chievos yet? They've been posted for a few days, I've only just seen them now.

I won't post them, but basically there's 10 new achievements for a total of 250 points.

All the achievements should be achievable on one save, barring two of them, each which calls for you to earn 11 perks for either the Vampire tree or Werewolf tree.

Maybe you CAN get them on one save, I don't know. Since I only have one character I'll make a save separate for a non-canon vampire run through just to get the skill tree and the perks.

Oh that is cool.

I just am working on the last two achievements right now myself.
Plus since my Khajiit will become a vampire, and my Orc IS a werewolf...this sounds fun.

I do feel a bit worried though since my Khajiit in less then a year became so deadly...to have centuries...damn.
Vampirism does make you immortal right...let me go check that.

I hate when I have a game completed and then a DLC comes out that makes me compulsively get all the new achievements.

I hope on the neXbox they have a list showing you what games you got all the achievements for and then what games you got all the achievements for INCLUDING DLC achievements.

But anyway, I'll have two saves one for the canon Dawnguard joining and one for the non-canon Vampire joining.

At least they're getting me to experience both sides, normally I just stick to one.

If someone does find a dual wield mod, let me know. After reading some lore junk, I'm inspired to make a female Nord light berserker and dual axes would be great for that.

Shagga likes axes.

Image IPB

Someone make a Nord who dual wields axes and name him Shagga Stone Crow.

Or Shagga Son of Dolf.

Either works. Make it happen. And keep him in the damned horned helmet.

Hmm I could Easily make Shagga. Lulz.

Also the Letter was from him >> He didn't die, Oblivion and its events were some joke, he wanted his son to die and turn into a dragon statue.
