My current character is a huntress so I got a mod called The Perfect Hunter or some such. It's ridiculously overpowered but as a result, Faendal with a hunting bow is an absolute killing machine. So I haven't de-installed it because IMO that's really how a Bosmer expert bowman should be.Giggles_Manically wrote...
I love how I have figured how to level companions again.
A mod removed their level caps so now anyone stays levelled with me.
Its seriously AWESOME to be fighting a Falmer only to see an arrow sink into it's skull from Aela.
I wonder what an TES Orc and Human kid would look like?
Since allegedly children mostly look like their mothers with only a few traits from their fathers if its cross species

Dumb question, but I have to ask it: What's your Stealth skill?happy_daiz wrote...

On a sidenote, every time I hear something about "sparkly", it reminds me of that crow from Demon's Souls.
OMG, I'm still not able to pickpocket for crap. If I try to pickpocket from someone who's sleeping, they always wake up! Is it because I'm wearing heavy armor? I'm even using a necklace of pickpocket (25% bonus). I'm not trying to take all their stuff, just a stupid key!
Because that's how you get good at it. Get your stealth skill up to the point where you can sneak right up to bandits without getting detected, then use them as practice.
Also remember: it's only tough early on, and only for a short while. Pickpocketing levels really *really* fast. When the skill is in its 20s-30s a single successful pickpocket attempt will raise you a whole point.

Anyone playing Dawnguard- do you need to have started the main quest before playing Dawnguard?
You need a certain item from the main quest in Dawnguard. I'm on the Dawnguard path now though so siding with the vampires may change things,

Well I just started playing, and I have to tell you, the part where Harkon takes off his armor and starts sparkling in the sun just about ruins this DLC for me. I mean, what the hell was Bethesda thinking? I know Twilight is a popular series but ripping it off like that just to reel in fangirls was pathetic.
Shame on you, Bethesda. I expected better of you.

Thalmor: You dont even stand a-
-Gets squashed in one hit-
Orc: Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil for I carry a giant ****ing hammer

Also a slight spoiler more like a faq really. But you can become a Vampire lord while working down the dawnguard questline.
Just point that out in case you want to be Vampire Lord and don't want to play on the Evil faction side.

Looks like I'm gonna have to pay Harkon a visit real soon - I can't have vampires attacking people smack in the middle of towns.
EDIT: The Master Vampire was also wearing unique armor called Vampire Armor - I expect this is but one of many surprises Dawnguard has in store for me.

Just wait until you see the Royal Vampire Armor. I like it! I also like the Dawnguard armor, but I thought it was weird that I was given heavy armor, but light boots and gauntlets. I sold them back, and had to buy heavy boots/gauntlets, plus a helmet for a full set.

My Stealth at the time was around 60. It's up around 70 now, but I haven't tried any pickpocketing lately. I think my actual Pickpocket skill is at 20. I need to get some practice in, but with DG, am now completely distracted.

I'm nowhere near completing Dawnguard, on the DG side, but I am completely blown away by this DLC. I had no idea so many new places would be added. There are new enemies, new spells, at least one new shout - last night I even got into the Soul Cairn, where I picked up my spectral horse spell. (He even has a name, which escapes me at the moment - starts with an "A"). Let's just say nobody just "gives" you this horse - you have to work a bit for it.
I was surprised it was a spell, to be honest. And sadly, my magicka is only at 110, so I am unable to cast it without enchanted gear. I picked up three other (new with the DLC) spells in there as well. I may have missed one or two, but I'm not sure.
The Soul Cairn itself had the awe factor of Blackreach to me. And it was pretty large - probably half the size of Shivering Isles, iirc.
I am trying really hard not to give any spoilers, so let me know if any of this is too much. One of my friends from BSN (also on XBL) freaking spoilered me yesterday, while I was still downloading the DLC. Twice. (Rude!) I will try to avoid doing the same here. I will also try to get some photos posted in the next day or two.

But, how is the DLC? How long is it?
#22172
Posté 27 juin 2012 - 03:07
I've spent about 9 hours on the DG questline, but I have no idea how much is left. I still have much to do, but I don't have any conception of how much. I believe I read somewhere that it's 10-20 hours on the main DLC questline, but I can see it taking me longer than that, for just the one playthrough. But then...I tend to ooh and aah at scenery a lot.

But moving on I really enjoy how the DLC makes nods to previous titles and even in a couple of cases minor NPC's and factions. Its pretty much well rooted in universe.

I just said how i think it is in my comment, right above yours.I don't think I spoilered anything that hasn't already been made public knowledge, or isn't in a trailer. (If I did, let me know).

Not only do you get lots of new content, but it adds content to the vanilla game, from the very start. Other game developers should take note.
