it's no different than being a pious paladin type then compaining because you chose to join the Dark Brotherhood and they're now asking you to assassinate people.

Its rather odd being named Arch-Mage without any skills in magic.
Besides the Thu'um.
The guild system is really screwed up. My barbarian in full plate was head thief and her only skill was swinging a two handed sword. There should have been requirements for joining guilds...because as it is now, they are pretty much pointless.
Still I miss the requirement in Morrowind to actually HAVE skills in a the field that the guild needs before becoming higher ranked.Yrkoon wrote...
The Guilds are for people who roleplay. You want Skyrim to hold your hand and force some set of rules on you and the world?? If you're a warhammer-wielding Orc Barbarian, you shouldn't be seeking join the mage guild in the first place.

Question, does Serana play a big role on the Dawnguard side or just the Vampire side? Simple question pleaseLPPrince wrote...
Beat Skyrim(Dawnguard side).
Turns out that even if you side with the Dawnguard, you can become a Vampire Lord. You have three times you can do it, near the beginning of the DLC, the middle, and after its all over you can do it whenever is most convenient for you.
This makes me happy as I'll never have to play the Vampire faction side.
All I gotta do to ensure I get all chievos is start morphing into Werewolf form and getting those perks. After that turn into a Vampire Lord and get those perks.
I might just make one non-canon save for both and go slaughter everyone so I can do it super quick.
Then reload to the canon save where I didn't transform into anything. Yaaaay.
As of right now though, I'm gonna do that one side quest you get by acquiring that one book that's located in several places. Just started so I have no idea what happens in it.
Anyway, Dawnguard was a success. Good times. Loved it. Also, in my head canon Serana and The Dovahkiin had a relationship on the road as they traveled.
Ysolda will never know of it. You know, cause if you get every achievement on one character, you KNOW your character is a douche bag.

Agreed. Say a skill level of 40 in a magical spell to join the College or 500 gold equivalent in theft to join thieves guild, etc. Atleast that would make sense when Brynjolff does his "you haven't earned a bit of gold honestly" speech.
It's justified in Morrowind because Morrowind has a strict class system. Skyrim doesn't. Every Character you make in skyrim already starts out at level 1 with magic ability, for example.Giggles_Manically wrote...

Again, you're the *dovakiin*, they shouldn't just make you their leader, they should build a shrine in your name then perform ritual worship ceremonies the moment you agree to become a member. Don't forget, while they're busy summoning Atronochs, You're summoning Dragons and ancient nord heros, While they're busy tossing ice spikes at wolves, you're shouting Bears off cliffs, And while they're busy raising zombies, you're turning Giants into blocks of ice.Jestina wrote...
Something would be better than nothing. And too, it's way to easy in Skyrim to become head of a guild. The college was just ridiculous...like they give you a test and then fill out the answers for you(cast blah blah...oh and i'll even give you the spell).

So far, she does in my playthrough, on the Dawnguard side. Although to be honest, I've also been taking her on other non-DG quests, because she's such an arse-kicker. And she's nice to look at.Mr.House wrote...

It's pretty dang amazing. It's good sized, has some new enemies, and before I get carried away, I'll just also say that it's gorgeous to look at. I mentioned it in here yesterday, and compared it to the awe factor of Blackreach.Mr.House wrote...
For people who have played Dawnguard, how is the Soul Cairn plane? It's one of my massive interest in the dlc.

Not following. If you're stealing stuff and are seeking the services of Fences (ie. the black market cartels), then you are, by definition, a thief. Therefore, joining a thieves guild fits your character role perfectly. And becoming the leader of the thieves guild is *hard* work. When you reach that level, you'll have totally deserved the title, as the stuff you have to do to get it includes: 1) Breaking and entering 2) stealing, 3)bribing, 4)framing; 5) blackmailing; 6) sabotaging a business; 7) document retrieval; 8) swearing your soul to Nocternal; and 9) defeating the current Guildmaster in combat.. Other than that, there's not much more to say. It does not break tradition for a Thief to be a fully armored brute. Or even a mage. Intimidation (brute strength) and deception (magic), are completely valid tools of the trade for a career rogue.Jestina wrote...

Because of another stupid thing in the game...stolen items. Like some clueless shopkeeper in another town is going to know that the item is stolen.
Here you are roleplaying a Wardrobe conneseur. A wardrobe conneseur is not averse to infiltrating the guilds for the sole purpose of getting their uniforms. It's what they do. Morals/alignment/profession take a back seat. To these people, Uniform retrieval is the only mission. Traditionally, people like that are a form of Bard. But really, I just call them "set collectors". (I did the same thing in my Daedric artifact collector run) I would not call them guild leaders, though, as the two guilds that offer unique uniforms both offer them well before one becomes their leader. And you get a free t-shirt...uniform for joining a guild, which I can decorate a mannequin with.
