Total content, methodically exploring Oblivion and the new Dawnguard fortress, side missions and quests, no fast travel....time estimate?

Over 20 hours, depending on how you fight. For example, I stealth, so it takes me longer than someone who say is running around hacking and slashing.

I still haven't explored a lot of the content, but so far it's been worth every penny. Bethesda delivers once again.

So might be a spoiler...but was anything shown about the Snow Prince at all?
Might be another DLC in the future or something.

My current character managed to Get Bolar's Oathblade at level 8.  It's the "Press "A" to win button" for low level characters.  It's  a set drop in a dungeon that does not contain  a single tough enemy, except for maybe    *one* spriggan at the very end, which can be avoided if you're good.

I don't think I've ever been there, in any playthrough, except for Hircine's quest. How on earth did I miss that? Image IPB

He/she did say "no fast travel", which would extend the amount of time it would take to complete it, but I don't think you could really count that. There are some new locations, as well as radiant locations, so if you haven't been to those, or anywhere near, you'll be hoofing it for a while to get to them. They really tucked some of the new caves/dungeons away, so they're not super easy to get to.

I've spent about 10 hours on DG quest-related stuff, so far, but I have much more in my quest log; and I started taking my pretty new follower along for some other stuff. She's just so awesome, I can't help myself.

I don't fast travel either, hence why I gave a time estimate.

^ Wow, you were able to complete the entire DG quest line in 20 hours? I must be even slower than you, then. Image IPB

Of course, I really don't know how far into the DLC I am at this point. I'm still consistently receiving DG side quests, so I'm curious when those will run dry. I guess I will find out!

Why did you do that?

Because of another stupid thing in the game...stolen items. Like some clueless shopkeeper in another town is going to know that the item is stolen. And you get a free t-shirt...uniform for joining a guild, which I can decorate a mannequin with.

Which would only require you to do one mission to gain access to the fences.

Whatever.  I know some people play with the mindset "how can I break the game."  Then they get to complain about it on forums.

About Dawnguard- the lore nerds on Bethsoft are pretty happy about it.  That's kind of a surprise.  Still doesn't really sound like my thing, but I'm glad it's well written and satisfying.

So people, what are you roleplaying characters?

My first character is Alex. A female Nord who pretty much does a Anakin Skywalker/Alex Mercer/Revan. Start of good but eventually became consumed and corrupted by power.

My next is a male Orc Hydra who is my bad character, i felt like killing anyone i came across and thus, Hydra was born.

My other Orc who is female is pretty much called Orc. I clicked B by accident and did not bother restarting because i liked her face. I tried to make her as Human as possible due to her Nord father and Orc mother, she does not fit in with Orc stonghold or in Nordic towns and instead became a vigilante killing anyone bad and staying away from civilization. She has inherited her fathers blond hair and blue eyes.

And my last character is a rogue male Khajit. Looked badass so i played as him. Bit of a kleptomaniac.

I dont really RP my characters that deeply.

My Orc always tries to do what would please Malacath.
My Altmer tried delving deeper in the arcane.
My Khajiit is always trying to get more power.

Well except for my main.
Ex-Legion member, around 45 years old, fought outside the Imperial city.
Was pissed beyond belief about the White Gold Concordant since all of his brothers, and his father died in the war.
Was going to Skyrim to join up with Ulfric and has a very big dislike for Thalmor.

Does whatever he can to safeguard his new homeland.

You guys put way thought into your characters/backstories than I do. This is typical of how much planning I do:

Race: Redguard
Name: Minya
Specialization: 2-handed with archery, stealth, heavy armor
Guild/Faction: all, or whatever I feel like
Backstory: what backstory?

That's pretty much it. Image IPB

Hehehe.

During the start of that quest where you see Alduin bringing a dragon back to life I got bored and shot Alduin in the face with an arrow.

Nothing says STFU like an arrow to the face.

2 handed is the most badass fighting style ever, things die so fast! One handed is puny and weak in comparison.

Unless you have a good shield in hand then you can just laugh off any and all attempts that archers and mages use on you.

Personally its very nice to beat people down with a shield.

So...finally we have real dragonbone weapons.  Any chance of showing some screenshots in action?  I hear some of them look rather badass  :D

I can load up one of my other characters, and smith some tonight when I get home. I haven't seen them yet, myself, so I'm kind of excited!

I wish they altered  the start of the game somehow, added a new way to begin or such.  New paths, new storylines that introduce you to world.  I'm sure to atleast consider returning to Skyrim once  DLC is out, but idea of going through that 1st portion of the game makes me want to vomit. Wellp, some mods fix it but It'd be nice to have some official alternative.

I'm not usually a big roleplayer by and large, but I really get into it with Elder Scrolls games.

My main is an Altmer:
Name: Rheia Tawariel
Age: Older than she looks.
Spec: Sword and shield, heavy armor, enchanting, archery, some resto.
Factions: Currently only the companions.
Backstory:
Raised by a Khajiit family after her ship wrecked (I was gutted there is limited hand to hand stuff in vanilla).
She joined the Thalmor army hoping to find a connection to her people, taking part in the invasion of Cyrodiil and present at the battle of the Imperial City. During and after that terrible war she grew disilusioned, and with little love for either side she deserted and set out to find out more about her past.

In the years since then she has been hunted by Thalmor agents, and finding nothing of who her parents were has fallen back on mercenary work such as bounty hunting. All of which has seen her travel across much of Tamriel before finally ending up in Skyrim and getting caught in the ambush of Ulfric. She is quite straightforward, honourable and so on, but with a feral streak brought about by her time with the Khajiit - you don't want to cross her.

More recently, and in part due to her new powers, she has become somewhat obsessed with the Daedra Lords,, her main motivation in hunting down their shrines and completing their tasks is to eventually find a way to kill or banish as many as she can however impossible such a task seems.

I have a few other characters fleshed out, but that's the one I'm most happy with. :)

@LTD - You could just load your completed save; it sounds like you've already played through it at least once. The new skill trees don't have anything to do with your other skills or level, so even if you were at level 81, you'd still be able to level those new trees up with werewolf or vampire lord form.

(written in the style of a dossier)

Gormr Fire-Heart is a Nord fugitive from Cyrodiil. He's a lifelong criminal and notorious bandit born originally in Bruma, and had been on the run from Imperial authorities for over a year prior to the return of the dragons, apparently surviving in the wilderness before finally being caught trying to flee to Skyrim.

His skill in combat is unprecedented - dozens of bounty hunters and Legionnaires have met their ends at the tip of his warhammer, the edge of his dagger, or the piercing of his arrow while trying to bring this hardened outlaw to justice. He's quite deadly with dual weapons as well, having cut down an entire squad of Legionnaires with two blades in hand.

Gormr Fire-Heart has escaped Imperial authorites after Helgen was destroyed by a dragon pending his execution, and most surprisingly has been revealed to be Dragonborn, making him even more dangerous than ever with his ability to use the Thu'um.

He's currently roaming in eastern Skyrim so as to avoid Imperial authorites, and appears to have Stormcloak sympathies. He's wanted now not just by the Empire but by the Thalmor, who have identified him as one of a group of individuals who stormed Northwatch Keep recently. Exercise extreme caution when dealing with him and do not approach him alone.

Unless you're playing a different race you can just use the Autosave.  Or, you know, go get a cup of coffee or something.

I sincerely hope Beth doesn't spend time and zots on something as insignifcant as changing the opener, when they could be making new content that adds to the main game.  Doubt they will.

Well, my character is named Sheeva, and is a female nord. Archery is her expertise. She will go toe to toe with a dagger in each hand if pressed, but that's not her strong suit. She sticks to shadows as much as possible, and will cut an enemies throat in silence whenever the opportunity arises. Her alchemy skills are growing. Her poisons and health potions are becoming more impressive. She is a leather girl who has been smithing on the side, just to upgrade her gear in the future. She loves making jewelry for fun and profit. Her favorite and most used companion so far is Mjoll the lioness, because she's a tanka, and Sheeva will snipe from a distance.
