I thought BioWare did great with the PAX interviews. Very approachable. And you don't see Todd Howard hanging around Bethsoft forums, or I don't anyway... but I was absent from them for a long time.slimgrin wrote...
Excellent interviews. Very down to earth. It's a shame Bioware doesn't do stuff like this.
That said, I love Todd Howard. What an adorable geek.

I am very happy about the use of more voice actors and better face models. I am also happy that conversations wont zoom in on the face anymore.
What I REALLY REALLY want is more armor, like in Morrowind. A slot for pauldrons (can live without the left and right) and beinb able to layer clothes (clothes under armor, armor, than a robe)

*that being said, I am excited about how they're going to detail the new combat system

They give a lot of interviews. But it was nicely done, even the camera angles and all the Fallout goodies.slimgrin wrote...
Todd Howard seems pretty cool. Wouldn't mind an informal interview with Gaider or Laidlaw like that.

Everything that I grew weary of in Oblivion is being addressed, and much more is being added, I think this game is going to be astounding.
I sure hope so. Oblivion is a huge disappointment in my eyes. Never deserved the acclaim it recieved back in 06.

I wouldn't say Oblivion is a huge disappointment, it's just that people tend to focus on its negatives. It had a great deal of positives that make it a wonderful game. With Skyrim, it seems most of Oblivions big flaws are being dealt with.

I agree 100% but the game will still have bugs especially sense the engine was reworked. Hopefully the frame rate will run smoother which is my biggest concern. I will also state no matter how you look at it. This game is going to take a lot of memory so I suggest everyone start to save up now for a great new graphics card and sound card. But thats just my opinion.

I just bought one for ME2. Dear lord.

I'd agree with that: a point of view seems to have become entrenched that focuses on Oblivion's flaws to the total exclusion of what it did right - and there was more than enough of the latter to make an excellent game. I hope the same doesn't happen with Skyrim, though I suppose it's inevitable to a greater or lesser extent.chunkyman wrote...

I'm not claiming to be entirely immune to the same thing either and I've little doubt I'll get very agitated about its stability or lack thereof, but I also anticipate it being a very enjoyable jaunt.

Heh... ME2 was very well optimized. My $80 card ran it just fine on high settings. It's these other developers I'm worried about.

It better be armour as it doesn't have a tail. If they got rid of Argonian tails, I would be highly dissapoint.Addai67 wrote...

Note some of the concept art. I believe one of them looked like an Argonian.

Video 1: Sound effects and atmosphere of Skyrim. Dwemer centurion reintroduced as well as Iron Flesh spell sound effect.
Video 2: Voice acting. New dialogue from Esbern [Max von Sydow].
Video 3: The dragon-shouts that your player 'speaks'. Dragons speak.
Video 4: Skyrim's score and Jeremy Soule. Viking choir. The most awesome part of this is the Skyrim theme. It's Morrowind theme plus drums and a choir!

It looks like it's wearing an elven helmet from the front & back views... though the side view is more confusing. I still figure it's a human or elf wearing some sort of armour, though.Cra5y Pineapple wrote...

Well, I think that even if Oblivion did many things right, the flaws was in your face all the time: The monotonous droning that passed for acting, the utter lack of any recognition of gender, the uninteresting, stereotype NPCs, the terrible "interaction-wheel" (Joke, Coerce, Admire, Threaten or what ever the options were called.), the sterility and complete lack of edge and sexuality, the awful scaling system, where a common thief would drop ebony armour and what have we.
These flaws were very obvious every minute you played the game, which made it an Excersise in Boredom for me, and - shamefully - I must admit, I never managed to finish it.

Damn.... I had shivers going down my spine when I heard that chorus. And Max von Sydov? I am getting excited, I think. I really am!

That sort of thing was irritating: being accosted by some scruffy oik without two pennies to rub together but had somehow managed to get hold of top-quality ebony armour... time after time. I don't think so. Fortunately there was a plethora of rebalancing mods, but prior to that I was starting to get a bad case of "what's the point?"Suprez30 wrote...
I don't have any problem with level scaling .. But i do have problem with street thug wearing Astral weapons of doom
On the other hand, that was after two play-throughs of ~300 hours each, so I figure I'd already had my money's worth by that point!
