I was reading on on the Skyrim wiki that you can get a quest called "the gift" which allows you turn your spouse in to a vampires. Does anyone know how to get it?

Read.

I've been reloading my save over and over again to try and do just that, but it doesn't seem to work. Do I have t
o do anything else to get it?

I don't know if this has happened to anybody, but I got grabbed by a dragon, while I was crossing that tree bridge. While I was in it's claws, the camera didn't seem to know if to go first or third person, until it finally decided to drop me to my doom. Haven't been grabbed since, I wonder if it was a bug or something. Pretty sure I have no mod that alters their behavior.

Side quests for the vamps. Also eye colors don't change on them so no one will notice anyways.

They do.

There's a Nirnroot *farm* in the rift, somewhere northwest of riften... I forget its name.  "serileth" farm, or some such.  Starts with an *s*.    Lots of nirnroot there.  Other than that, Nirnroot grows near water, and under Bridges.

Nightshade....  Go to Solitide and walk around.  Lots of Nightshade growing there.  Also, the little Cemetary in Riften has a few.  And generally speaking, Nightshade grows near outdoor tombs and  cemetaries everywhere.

And don't forget Alchemy merchants.  They restock every few days, and can sometimes have multiple Nirnroots and Nightshades.  I once got that quest from Ingun, then went straight to the Apothecary in Whiterun, where the merchant there had 8 deathbell at once.  I bought them all

Any reason to become a vampire, any advantage to being one?

Thanks I keep going to each alchemy store and they only have like 1 of each, I took all the nightshade in Solitude but I'll have to start going around all the crypts and stuff to find some more.

The nirnroot farm is a part of the quest about crimson nirnroot.

Any reason to become a vampire? Well you get some passive bonuses and a few abilities (that you can look up if you really want to know). But at the same time you get penalties in the sunlight. I never really thought it was worth it before, and I'm not even that convinced it's worth it now that you can become a vampire lord. I think of it mainly as a question of flavor. It's not really worth it unless you think it would be cool to be a vampire.

Apart from Solitude, I remember a fair number of Nightshade growing also near the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary.

Does anyone else have loot hovering about 3 feet off the ground when they revisit a cell? Especially in the market stalls in Windhelm...the beef/meat float in front of the vendor stall as do Niranye's swords and shields. I don't use very many mods so I'm wondering if this is just an unintended byproduct of the latest patch.

I have weapons floating around when I have killed some enemies. Cut a skeleton to pieces near the entrance of a dungeon. When I walked back, its sword was floating in the air. I had to walk around it (it doesn't let you walk through it and it doesn't fall to the ground when you bump into it). Odd bug.

About vampirism: it is useful for a sneaky character, especially at a lower level, because you get a pretty big sneak bonus. There's also a bonus for illusion spells.

So last night, I visited the face-changer in Riften. She's a sassy one - I like her. If you question whether she really knows what she's doing, she goes off on you, basically saying she doesn't have to prove herself to a peon like the Dragonborn. I chuckled, because the character I was playing was my first, so I'd finished all major quest lines, and was the Guildmaster of the TG (and the Listener, etc., etc.)

No spoilers below.

I totally messed up, though. I was playing the Vampire Lord side in DG, and reached a specific moment in a quest where I should have been patient. But no, I felt threatened, and started filling a couple of tough vampires full of ebony arrows. My quest log tells me the next two steps, I do them, and the last thing I had to do was go back to the castle to check in with the quest-giver.

Wouldn't you freaking know it? Because I was trigger-happy, the vampires went hostile on me immediately when I walked in the door...probably because I was shooting before those guys were red dots. And I'd overwritten my save from right before that point. The one before that was from 4 hours earlier. OMG.

So alas, tonight I get to redo last night. This time, I'm going to be better prepared.

P.S. I was nervous about playing as a vampire/vampire lord, as I'd never done it, but it pretty much kicks arse. I think it's more difficult at higher levels, though, at least for a time. Until you get your vampire lord perk tree filled up, you're kind of a wimp against groups of enemies. I might try this with a lower-level character instead (I did it with a level 53).

Of course, I'm basing that belief on my one wimpy vampire lord going up against the entire castle full of vampires. Image IPB

Wow, DG is easily the best questline in the entire game, besting even the DB quests - and Todd Howard wasn't lying when he said DG could've been a game in and of itself. It easily could've been a standalone action-adventure game and it would've been a damn good one at that.

This is probably the best $20 I've ever spent, especially on a DLC (EA should be ashamed) - and I'm not even done. There's still quite a bit of other content in the DLC that I haven't even touched yet.

I especially love the quest Touching the Sky - it's the most epic quest in the entire game without question. You PC and PS3 players have a lot to look forward to, so just sit tight.

Has anyone with the DLC encountered a Legendary dragon yet? If so, what level are you? I'm itching to take one on but haven't run into any. I've read rumors that you have to be at the level cap to see 'em but that seems too high...

I believe it requires Level 50 or higher to come across Legendaries.

I've come across a few and I'm level 81.

Sounds good, just need to avoid the major story spoilers for longer...

Hmm, maybe they're just really rare at lower levels then.

I've been over 50 for a while and haven't even glimpsed a Revered. Sitting on level 57 at the moment and unless I start dramatically changing my play style, I don't see how I'm going to get much higher than that.

Edit: Nevermind i checked my previous quest and found that one, and yes it was an epic quest.

That's a tall order friend. The DB quests were pretty amazing. I can not wait.

My friend went Legendary Dragon hunting at Level 49. He fought 30 dragons. A lot of them were Ancients, but no Legendaries.

I have yet to fight a Revered Dragon either. Legendary, yes. Revered, not yet.

I've had them grab my PC in their jaws and do the ragdoll shake before.  That's usually game over.

Falkreath has some, the cemetery in front of the Thieves' Guild secret entrance in Riften has some (behind the buildings near the Talos shrine).
