They're probably waiting so they have something to announce at ComicCon next week. *grumble*

@deuce- I ended up uninstalling the dungeon sounds mod because it was a little too corny Halloween for me. The one I think is fantastic is Real Wildlife. It adds a lot of subtle realism, I'd almost call them mini-encounters, that make the game feel fresh. They even add some realistic animal sounds. I came around a corner and heard this blood-chilling snarl. It took me a minute to see that it was a sabre cat. Scared the crap out of me.

Also the Radiance mod, which adds some random encounters as well.  Very nicely done.

One of the more palatial house mods which is also well done is Grey Ledge Manor.  It's on a mountaintop next to a waterfall and has a very open feeling- in fact no load doors.

Any recommendations on graphics mods? I want to try ENB but I'm not sure I can handle it...looks pretty ridiculous.

There's nothing linking anything to anything because you are missing the other ingredient of what defines someone...their natural abilities. We're just left with a generic character that can do anything and everything. My high elf with arms like toothpicks can be as good a warrior as my orc, and my orc may be dumb as a box of rocks but she can still be a master mage...because there is nothing that defines their physicality or intellect.

LOL   What a joke.

Is this, like, your first RPG?  Since when have body types  ever determined your stats?  Or Vice versa? And what mod do you have installed that lets you start off the game as a master of *anything*?

The system in place in Skyrim  is one  where Practice makes perfect.  ie. in order to become good at something you've got to practice, train, sweat and practice some more.  And I can think of absolutely nothing more natural, or more logical, or more intuitive than that.

In other words, if your Orc is a master mage, then he sure as hell is NOT "dumb as rocks", instead, he's been diligently devoting his whole  adult careet to the study and practice of magic.

I don't use a lot of them, other than the high res pack.  I like Pure Waters.

I wish they had left in some of a characters raw potential rather than have everything weighted on skill alone. People are defined by more than just their skills....strength, agility, natural charisma, intelligence should also be factored. A scrawny person might know the techniques of fighting from reading a book...but lacking in the physical area needed, that person isn't going to be able to utilize those techniques very well. It's a big hole in this game.

Which is why the game does not let you  create a  "scrawny person".   The option isn't there in any of the sliders in the character creator.

Imagine that.  The developers pre-emptively struck down your silly argument before you even made it.

You can come up with something more intelligent than that. All i've seen posted from you on here is blind fanboyism.

Imo, it  would have been nice if they had developed a weight system in which a character has increased swing speed that's proportional to their musculature. I get what you are saying though, but it would create a forced linearity in gameplay, and after the clusterf*** that was Oblivion's stat system i don't think we'll see stats for a while. At the end of the day it's really up to you, on how strict you are at role-playing your character.

Lol i can't believe i almost forgot, in Fallout when you set your intelligence into the negatives it would affect your dialogue options...oh, the lulz to be had.

I did.  You clipped my post in half  because you were unable to respond to my direct counter.

Grow up now, and learn honest debating.

Case in point:

WTF, you're a broken record.  Every time anyone has shot down your  feeble claims  on this thread you  have accused them of "blind fanboyism"...instead of actually addressing their points.

Something like the SPECIAL system would have been way better than the garbage Skyrim system. The SPECIAL system at least gives characters more individuality.

Aaah, someone needs to be prodded a little more in order to stop dodging.

You cannot make a "scrawny character" in this game. The character creator does not allow it.

So you're trying to describe a so-called "hole in the game" that doesn't actually exist.

To be fair, Dragons Dogma had a body size thing; if you were big, you would carry more but I think ran out of stamina more or moved more slow.

It does when you are missing half the equation of what makes up an individual. Skyrim is nothing but skills...and is completely lacking in any other area of what defines an individual. Not everyone is gifted enough to be a pro athlete, or a born genius.

Is it your contention that "stats" define an individual?  REALLY?

They don't, otherwise We'd all be walking around with numbers over our heads defining how strong we are, how smart we are, how charismatic we are, how wise we are, and how dextrious we are..  But we don't, because this  stuff is abstract.   In the real world nothing but Accomplishments can ever measure our "attributes".   In games, stats serve no purpose but to attempt to objectify  that abstract.  And generally speaking, they almost ALWAYS fail.

But forget about that.  Lets focus on your  other 2  claims.

1) that  such an  Attributes system  is  the only means to define a character; and
2) Skyrim lacks such a system

Both  claims are demonstrably  false, and the second claim specficially illustrates your lack of knowledge of Skyrim's gameplay mechanics (yes, this is becoming a habit with you.  here we are, again   having to stop  and inform you of something you didn't know about the game's basics)

With regards to the first claim,  a stat-based Attrubute system most certainly is NOT the only way to define a character's innate skills.  A more realistic system can be employed that  defines career ability/skill  via aptitude.  That is to say, a game that wants to project Orcs as a  physically stronger  race than wood elves would make it so that they either advance faster in weapon craft or else they begin at level 1 with higher melee skills.  Ditto with Magic.  if High Elves are meant to be more intelligent than Nords, then such a game would begin High elves off with either more magicka, or more points in the spell schools, or give them the ability to advance at a faster rate with magic than Nords.

As for #2, Oh SNAP,  see #1, that's precisely  how Skyrim handles the different physical attributes of the different races.  it also   gives each race a racial power that further defines  their innate  strengths.

And this is to say nothing of the overlapping  that  magicka, Health and Stamina  give, which Elhanan pointed out to you the last time you came here to spout your moronic viewpoints.

^behold folks. I think we all know now, who REALLY can't back their claims or form intelligent arguments and counters. You're trolling here. You've BEEN trolling this thread for about 20 pages now.

PS:    You're not totally insulting though.  I am indeed a Bethesda fanboy.   Any company that can pull off what Skyrim Pulled off deserves a fanatic following.  It is nice to be a Beth Footsoldier.     Easiest job on the internet.  I've never encountered  a Skyrim basher that  didn't  resort to Herp-Derp one liners the moment  they're pushed  up against the  wall with  even a half effort in a debate.

Now I feel bad.  I console married Nivenor and her husband Bolli (who I forgot about) showed up at the wedding.  To tie up the loose end, I killed Bolli at the Bee N Barb.  As soon as I exit the Barb, a courier gives me this note

Anyways, I got the marriage achievement, and a wedding gift.

When I see you saying **** like this, I can tell that the odds are not in your favour here. If you're falling back on implied ad hominem arguments, you should just quit.

I wouldn't feel too bad. Bolli was Probably cheating on his wife anyway. Every night at the Bee And Barb you can see him sitting at a table with Haelga having drinks. And considering what we know about Haelga....

Rather miffed that Bethesda hasn't even announced a release date for the PC.

So. I play a Redguard with legendary Daedric everything with various buffs on the armour (most notably Fortify Destruction 100% and Fortify Restoration 100%) and +75 fire and frost damage on two Daedric swords (also legendary, natch). Is it safe to assume that I will steamroll everything that crosses my path in Dawnguard? I'm ashamed to admit it, but I rather like blowing through everything with ease.

I thought I was the only one who played as a Redguard ^^ share your screenshot of him Olaf

Don't know why I always side with stormloaks at the begining, and when it comes to war I always side with Imperials :bandit:
