Does anyone know if this has Steamworks built in (retail game)? If that's the case there's no point in buying it via Steam.

Either Steam or Games for Windows will be fine. I like achievements :P
Plus, Don't you mean it's useless to get retail?

Well no, I meant that buying it from Steam would be useless. If it's Steamworks game, you would get the same game and Steam integration plus data disk for less.

Collectors Edition revealed...

Don't think I'll bother with it, overly expensive and not to my tastes. I wish it was more like the Oblivion CE, I'd rather they didn't come with these overly expensive statues. Aw well I'm happy enough with the regular edition I suppose.

I might get the collector's edition. I'd definitely get it if it was 100 dollars.

With Druss here, its $150 state side and honestly doesn't have much that I would care to have.

I'm surprised so many people are hurrying to pre-order. A game with a new engine from Bethesda, and people aren't expecting a buggy mess until at least the first couple patches? It's not a limited resource, it'll be around if you wait a month after release for the nastier bugs to be fixed and to get some real feedback as to whether it lives up to the hype or it's a guilded turd.

Naughty99 has probably already posted this but theres a nice preview on game informer's website. The second last paragraph I think will contain good news for alot of people asking about a certain faction and not yet convinced they will be in the game...

Hmm it sounds like it may offer a good bit of fun doesn't it (from the link)?

And LP, I'm sure most of us know that already. And what game from them ever, has not had some bugs? hell even YEARS later some of them stick around. As to preodering I generally don't unless its a title I really want. And you have no idea on how fast some of the more popular games go (around here). For example when I put Reach on Preorder last year, there were already 600 in. And they had to order a new shipment that next week. But primarily why I preoder besides wanting the game, is wanting the bonus Items. In Which case Skyrim doesn't really have crap in that reguards. just a game I want.

I like how diverse the previews are despite only having an hour each with the game and a small area to explore.

Yeah thats the impression I'm getting aswell. Maybe it will live up to the hype, hell if it even lives up to half of it, thats impresive. But so far all hints point toward a yes.

The only thing in here I found intresting, was that Argonians are back to greenish blue by default.

Yeah, the CE doesn't look like it's worth it. Normal edition will do just fine.
I wasn't serious about the Imperial comment btw.

Or was I?

Regular edition for me too.    Ok its a cool statue, but to a little to expensive for me.

Game.co.uk is my retailer and as you can see its £130.  Which means your paying £90 for the artbook and statue.

Yeah only a mental person or Manchester City would pay that price. I'd pay maybe £10-£15 extra for the dvd, map, art book and some kind of book expanding on the lore. I don't need or want a statue and certainly wouldn't py £90 for one. Even if I did want one I'm sure you can get much better dragon statues for cheaper.

I haven't been this excited about a game since Shenmue, everything I hear just adds to the excitement. The only negative I've heard was a hint that the combat might possibly still be a bit ropey but I can forgive that if its true and its any sort of improvement on Oblivion's. I started playing New Vegas 2 weeks ago and it's only increased my excitement, best game I've played this year by a mile and getting me properly psyched for Skyrim.

Blimey. That CE is bloody disappointing: I'd really been looking forward to that, but what a load of rubbish. Even the not very impressive statue is just a lump of plastic. But the price... sheesh. More than twice than the most I'd be willing to pay, and more than twice the next most expensive CE I've considered. I'm... well, I'm rather taken aback, put it that way. Okay, the DA2 Signature Edition was worse, but it was also a sixth of the price.

Nice timing what with Todd Howard going on about how PC games should be cheaper. Whether or not he has any input on their own pricing (and I don't believe he has none at all...), seems that Bethesda's PR department has made a total Snickers of things. Also the same day they've started getting all litigious over the use of the word "scrolls" and are prohibiting any discussion on their forums, I'm not really sure what they think they're doing...

I want to know who decided that price point was a good idea in the current fiscal climate. It costs almost as much as a console. You could get a blu-ray player for that price. I know its optional and you don't have to buy it but how many are they expecting to sell at that price?

Uhh... It's going to be the regular version for me (£27.91 from Amazon UK or £27.99 from Play.com, or 32,40 € from Verkkokauppa.com).
