In Daggerfall you could only train 5 times per day plus you also needed to rest before skills would go up.
Good summary of Morrowind:

PS: Get ready to hate cliff racers if you don't already.
According to TES lore, cliff racers chased dragons out of Morrowind. Bloody dragons.

Also, I tried to do Season Unending last night, and the game locked up twice in High Hrothgar - the first time was when Dephine and Esbern were trying to waltz right in, and the second time was when Arngeir was summarizing the negotiations.
In the first 1000+ hours of the vanilla game, I had maybe 10 lockups. Since Dawnguard, I've had about 5. What's weird is that the new content seems fine on my 360, but it's the vanilla content that barfs from time to time.

I've also had some lockups, but no more than usual - overall, the game is running about the same as it did, vanilla bugs and all.

I don't know if these were present in the vanilla game, but they seem more common place, even if it doesn't happen often, after Dawnguard.

I must say, I almost like playing the vampire side of Dawnguard better, in one respect - vampires don't attack cities. It was almost stressful worrying about having to protect NPCs every time you fast traveled (well, unless you traveled at the right time of day).
I had been kind of lucky in the lock-up department - probably because I got used to being patient with texture loads, from the old days of playing Oblivion and Fallout 3. But now, they're just full-on locking, while my character is perfectly still.
@Alex - I haven't had that happen with the werewolf, but after I completed the DG main quest (Dawnguard side), every time I went into a crypt, and a Draugr Deathlord shouted at me, my werewolf turned into a vampire.
Explain that one to me.

I think Dawnguard might have caused some bugs. For instance, Shadowmere is suddenly gone. Vanished. Poof. He was there when I went into Blackreach, and by the time I did a few more quests, where I was within cities and wouldn't see him anyway, realized that he was gone. No matter where I go, he doesn't ever show up.

I don't know if that's Dawnguard's fault. When I exited Blackreach my horse was gone as well. Usually it pops up when you fast travel to a location, but this time it stayed gone. I had to buy a new one.

So if Arvak replaces him, I wonder where he goes?
Honestly, Arvak is cool and all, but he's a summon, so he only lasts for 60 seconds, unless you've improved your gear, or used perks or potions. I wish he was a little more permanent, like Shadowmere.
@renjility - Interesting that at least two of us have had Shadowmere disappear after Blackreach.

Same scenario here. Except it was around 150 hours and I don't think any lock ups at all. DG content works fine, but when travelling the world I've had mini lock ups that last about 10 seconds, full on freezes where I have to turn the xbox off; including one where I couldn't even get the damn thing to switch off for a few minutes, alot more glitches than I'd experienced in my first 140+ hours and huge framerate issues when just walking around. It's too much of a coincidence to not be caused by DG.
I've loved DG so far, except the Soul Cairn. I hate weird dreamy ventures into other worlds with floating islands in the sky, dark coloured monsters and various colours of flames. I've always hated them and now they remind me of The Fade from DA:O and that place was terrible, I hated going into Oblivion gates too, I hated Sheogoraths dream place. I couldn't wait to get out of there and see trees, snow, rain, the sky, boobs and bandits to slash. I loved the bit leading up to the Soul Cairn though.
Also is there a reason to carry the crossbow around? I've not used it all as I prefer the normal bow. Am I safe to dump it or will I actually need it?
Anyone else have issues with Dawnbreaker and Bran?

Oh, it was not Shadowmere, sorry for the misunderstanding. It was a regular horse I had bought at one of the stables. But I assume the issue remains the same. A horse is a horse, even when the horse is Shadowmere.

To answer your question, no, you don't need it for anything. You really should give it a shot, though. No pun intended.
In my vampire run, I actually took one of the crossbows from Fort Dawnguard, so I could use it. I even picked one up for Serana.
Aww, so sorry you didn't enjoy the Soul Cairn. I just went back in there again on this run, and did a more thorough search of it. It's massive, though, and I still haven't found all of the fragments of...well, things I need. Trying not to spoiler.
I think you'll like the Vale, though.

Yeah I'm DG. I've started gathering the schematics but its a slow process as I insist on walking. I'll give it a try atleast now then as I'm running low on Daedric arrows anyway.happy_daiz wrote...
^ Are you on the Dawnguard side? Are you kidding about the crossbow? OMG! Do the side quests, so you get it to the point of having the Dwarven crossbow schematics. By then, you'll have also acquired the schematics for fire, frost, and shock bolts, and can improve the crossbow to legendary. Very few enemies can handle a bolt exploding inside of them. They're actually really nice for stealth kills, believe it or not. And if you have the fast reload archery perk, it's nearly as fast as a standard bow. And the best part? You can make your own bolts.

I was thinking about giving it to Serana but wasn't sure about her archery skills. Just the wee things she does like using an alchemy table add an extra layer of immersion, I think she is now my sidekick of choice, so I need to think about arming her properly.
The Soul Cairn was alright as far as those kinds of areas go, but in general I hate them. I was annoyed by the thunder when trying to hear dialogue. I managed to find all of those "things" but it took me ages to find their um..."destination". I found the reward to be very useful though, it had some nice enchantments on it. I got fed up looking and used a guide for the last couple. Had to use youtube to find their "destination" as I'd searched the place from end to end and couldn't see it.
Most people need food and water to sustain them, I require boobs and bandit beating. The SC was lacking in these, mostly.

If you give Serana the crossbow, she will indeed use it. She's pretty good with it, too. Honestly, she's ruined me on pretty much every other follower. She cracked me up last night, when she kept sitting in peoples' seats at the Season Unending Greybeards negotiations. She made Ulfric stand for most of it.
I also gave Serana an ebony mace of health absorption, and she uses that quite a bit. It's super handy if we do happen to get caught out in the sun, since our vampire blood doesn't regenerate anything while outside.
P.S. I appreciate your candidness. Boobs and bandits. I'm going to have to tell my husband about that.

I gave Harkon's Sword to Serana, as well as a Circlet and Ring of Destruction that I also found on his remains - it just seemed like the right thing to do, and she uses that sword to great effect. It also looks hella good on her tbh, as does the circlet.

Serana has caused me to miss dialogue by wandering over infront of me and being distractingly tall. She seems to pick up alot more loot than other followers, I looked in her inventory and she had picked up allsorts of ingots and crap. Probably obvious to most people but its worth talking to her alot, she gets alot of new dialogue you can ask her about after various events. Previous companion interaction blinded me to this fact.
Don't confuse that with bandits with boobs. Totally different things, I learned the hard way.
@Greengoron: Doesn't Serana's hood displace the circlet alot of the time? I tried giving her new vampire armour but she won't equip it.
Speaking of boobs, is a sudden upsurge of naked corpses on the roads a DG thing?

If you're outside, and it's daytime, Serana will always wear the hood. But if you're inside, or it's night, she will switch back to the circlet. I did pick up the vampire royal armor, and improved it, but she won't equip it. I'm not sure why.
You make a good point, too. Serana has new dialogue quite frequently. It's pretty cool!
Boobs and bandits. Got it.

I've never witnessed a follower of Namira. Vigilants of Stendarr are everywhere though. They aren't very vigilant, they tend to just be standing around making vague threats towards Daedra.
Looks like I now have to fire Skyrim up and start equiping Serana aswell as investigating the dead naked people to confirm if my theory that they were all imperials is true. That mystery murdering mudcrab has strange tastes.
