I just got an insane REVENGE battle.
Some Necromancers (black star), Blood Horker's, Hired Thugs, and Forsworn like all within 15 minutes of each other.
HA.

Surpsingly after the mage and spriggan killed one mudcrab, the other killed both of them, and then I killed it lulz.
Also a giant ran from me, which I've never seen happen.

In part I'm really starting to not like Dawnguard.
Those stupid vampire raids have honestly taken away most reasons I have of going to whiterun. The smiths are dead a few other traders, I now can't go near a city at night, or stay overnight without fear of several others getting killed
I could reload, big deal just ANOTHER four hours of progress lost.
The Vampire raids suck, but I've been able to avoid them by FT to the Whiterun stables, checking that there aren't any death hounds in the area and hoping that when I go to Whiterun there aren't any vampires. Has worked pretty good, is very tedious, but I'd rather not have NPC's die. It's relegated me to exclusively going to towns during the day which sucks.

Dear god, Fireball has got to be the most overpowered spell in the game - Krosis is slaughtering me in nearly one hit. It's ridiculous. D:<
Friggin cheap ass bastard Krosis. He has almost unlimited charges on that staff, turns summons, heals and has ice cloak. I stay away from that area till later levels.

Then again, this works for pretty much all spellcasters... Love the Slow poisons!

My fight with him took so long that the charge on that damned staff of his ran out. Then he switched to the Expert level frost spell. Good thing I quicksaved very often, because I got skewered a few times.blaidfiste wrote...

That fight also took a fair amount of time. The dragon finally crashed spectacularly as the sun was finally up. Also: I played it after excessive ME3 MP gaming. I was constantly trying to roll from cover to cover...

Krosis though is far more challenging than the dragon (or at least the dragon I fought) - I would not have beaten him this time if I hadn't managed to get him down into that giant camp.

SNEAK ARROW right in the face.
Hah.
However on my combat characters...ouch.
Seriously he is made to make a melee fighter suffer while fighting him.

God, reminds me of my last encounter - I somehow managed to get the dragon and Krosis upset against me. At dawn...

I had that happen too, but I had 100% frost/fire resist gear (well I think the game caps at 80%), shield charge trivalized Krosis, and then I was just left with the dragon.

I don't know how long I can keep the mage robes things up. It certainly presents a different kind of challenge. I've done it before, but apparently enough time had passed that I'd forgotten what it was like.

I'm playing a pure mage Khajiit this time around, and nearly bit it in Saarthal at level 5, with apprentice restoration mage robes (and only Oakflesh for defense). I am not looking forward to Krosis, that's for sure.

Darkfall Cave and everything it leads to is awesome! They implemented alot of stuff from the game jam video in that cave I think. But it was possibly my favourite part of the game so far, everything felt truly epic. It really made up for the Soul Cairn for me.
Anyone know what level Ancient Dragons turn up at? I hit level 50 last night, I thought I'd already faced an ancient dragon before but after running into one last night I'm not sure if I had. Dragons had become a joke, I'd take them out in a few seconds with Dragonbane but that was an actual battle and I even died first time. Took a while to wear it down and it was doing a ton of damage. Between that and Volkihar Master Vampires there's some danger in the world again. Which is awesome, I felt slightly overpowered for a while. Although going back to a dwemer ruin you cleared at a low level that was quite challenging and breezing through swatting enemies aside like they are nothing is at times rather satisfying.

OK, that gives me hope. I'm not a huge fan of the look of the Archmage's robes, but I'm sure they're better than the crap I'm wearing right now.
Right after Bleak Falls Barrow, I went to that Talos shrine near Riverwood, and lifted the Thalmor robes off the dead Thalmor there, and wore those for a while, but the enchantment is awful. 12% destruction magic cost reduction? That's it? Why is it that the Thalmor got the best-looking mage robes in the whole stinking game? Arrgh. And the whole outfit looked really awesome on my Khajiit.
I'd like to get my enchanting high enough that I can make a decent Vaermina's robe. Or...another option is Vampire clothes. Sounds funny, but I hoofed it to Markarth, and went inside the farm (right outside the city gates), and a Master Vampire followed us in. Once dead, I saw that he was wearing just Vampire "clothes", not armor. This must be a leveling thing. None of them we've encountered have been wearing straight-up Vamp armor yet.
@Druss - I think I was fighting Ancient dragons with my Nord, who was in the 40s for level. Are you wondering about Revered or Legendary, or Ancient? I still haven't seen Revered or Legendary, but if they attack my new character at level 8, that will be one more Khajiit rug in Skyrim.

So he can enchant anything with anything.
So his mage walks around in normal clothes better enchanted then anything you get in the game.
