So last night, I was retrieving the 3 books from Fellglow Keep for the Mage's College, and actually had to kill the Caller for the first time. I was a little sad. Honestly, I couldn't remember what I've done in the past to avoid conflict, but as far as I'm concerned, it's probably better this way.

I did have to pause at letting the Blooded Vampires out of their cages, though, after Dawnguard.

If you want to get to 81, you might as well just use the console to level the skills you don't use. There are tricks you can use for most of the skills if you're not on the PC, but the armor skills, restoration and destruction will take forever to level. It actually makes the game a bit harder, since your fighting skills kind of max out in 30s but the monsters keep getting tougher.

The skills I don't have at 100 yet are lockpicking, speech, two-handed and archery. No idea how you level those fast and I'm not going to bother.

The only person who seemed to show up consistently at my weddings is Lydia - Sven often showed up as well.

One of the stranger guests at my wedding was Lynly Star-Sung - she fled Riften in the first place trying to avoid Sibbi Black-Briar, but risked her life to show up at my wedding anyway. I guess sending Sibbi's lackeys on a wild goose chase in Morrowind made her very grateful - and careless.

Lydia didn't show up at mine.  B*tch.

Just kidding.  I echo all the "oh god, not Bioware" responses to the idea of the marriage mechanic being extended.  I'm super ok with it staying as stripped down and "pointless" as it is.  If they should look to anyone as an example, it's Obsidian and not Bioware.  The FNV companions each had nice personal quests that had nothing to do with clipping genitals.  That would be the kind of thing I'd like more of, that if they keep marriage partners, they be more integrated with the factions so you'd feel the companions had more story than "sworn to carry your burdens."

The problem is that in Skyrim there are just so many freaking companions.
New Vegas had like...7-8.

Besides most of my characters travel by themselves.
Since companions get in my freaking way to much on stealth.

My Khajiit sent Lydia flying off a damn cliff after the 10th time she set off a dungeon.

Yeah no idea why they made so many followers. I guess they were thinking quantity over depth, so that you'd always have a few options in each city that weren't related to other quests or prerequisites. Makes sense.

Ok, I admit I'm bitter about the Thieves' Guild and civil war factions not having any marriage options among them. Also Erandur. I talked to Sylgja and found out she was healed by "a priest of Mara on his way to Dawnstar."  Image IPB  He's definitely the nicest guy in Skyrim.

Lockpicking-Buy as many picks as you can and break them in hard locks.
Speech-Buy and sell items individually instead of in stacks.  You might even want to burn through some gold just buying and selling back. (Because Alchemy levels based on the value of the potion crafted, you can level these two together)
Two-Handed-It levels based on damage dealt, so craft the best two handed weapon you can and use it (It should take about 8 dungeons)
Archery- Again it levels based on damage dealt, so you just have to use it, it's slower than one-handed and two-handed though.

Personally, I don't know why they bother adding companions to ARPGs.  If you aren't puppeting the companions (which you can't really do in an ARPG) what do they add to the gameplay?  They just make some missions easier (with the AI, it's often the opposite effect) and in most of these games, the gameplay is easy enough.

Hah.

I love playing as a werewolf.
Super beyotch slapping people out of your way is just funny.

I just love turning into a werewolf in front of the Thalmor and going wild.

When I went for the Werewolf Perk Tree achievement in Dawnguard, I killed WAY too many people and animals.

After I earned the achievement, I stood in one spot and talked to a friend over XBL waiting to turn back.

It took a whole real life HOUR to turn back into a human.

30 seconds per human kill, 15 seconds per creature kill.

Yeah, overkill does exist.

Well in New Vegas they give you companion perks, which can be very useful, and you can use them to carry extra loot. Companions are actually very powerful in combat in New Vegas as well. There are also companions who have useful abilities like ED-E who can act as a workbench or reloading bench and can hand out a bit of ammo and help repair your weapon.

In Skyrim, I avoid them like the plague because they can actually die, and I hate that.

It can, but is rather particular. Take it from the shelf w/o reading it, and place it in inventory. Access the shelf, then go to books and read it, placing it back on the shelf when finished.

While some may frown on using such an exploit, it sure beats cycling through repeated practice sessions with forges, soul gems, mudcrabs, rock walls, etc, and gives a bit of lore as to why it works. Plus getting it is no simple quest itself.
