So here I go to download the Creation Kit.

Going to attempt some modding.
Last game I attempted was...DAO.

You're modding, eh?

Can you create Dawnguard for us?

Thanks in advance.

My archer/assassin was mining ore deposites around Whiterun last night, and there was thunder, lightning, and rain. It was very atmospheric. I can really immerse myself in these kinds of games.

Nice. Count yourself lucky though, it took me well over 100 hours before I saw a thunder storm. But it's pretty awesome being caught out on one, the atmosphere as its pouring down and you're riding your horse to Riften with thunder roaring is immense.

For anyone following the Skyrim Rags to Riches series, part five is up.

LOL

Giggles might be able to make it faster than we're gonna get it.

Nah, I have a good feeling.  Beth won't let us down.  /last words

Sorry I got distracted and had to pick my last college courses.
Since I needed another elective to fill out my BA in History I snagged a course about Economic History.

Still I do enjoy a game that looks at history smartly.
Bethesda makes me squee with all the in game history text books.

I enjoyed reading:
"The Bear of Markarth" "The Talos Mistake" and a few others on the great war.

Also seeing those tiny mentions of past PCs to.

So....
Yeah.

My PC just punched a Dragon to death.
Granted he WAS wearing armor, but still:

OK; think I have 4 mods now plus any High Res stuff that came with Skyrim vanilla:

* No More Blocky Faces - added that last year, and forgot about it. It does help, but Elves are still way ugly.

* Harder Alduin - will see if this turns the Big Boss into more of a challenge.

* Enhanced High level Gameplay - those Dragon Knight demigods are now taking 2 arrows to drop; may have to change to another bow effect for certain foes now.

* W.A.T.E.R. - decided on this one as it seems to lack the hiccups of others. Like seeing the ripples now when something is moving in the various pools.

Now I shall seek something to help the overall visuals, if performance is not lost. But must I wade through so many nonsensical mods to find one (eg; Sci-Fi, animated toons, exploding farm fowl, etc)?

Feels good, doesn't it? =D
I'm telling you, Elder Dragons take a long time to drop with nothing but your fists, even if you're wearing Daedric gauntlets and have that one Heavy Armor perk that adds your gauntlets' base armor rating to your unarmed damage.

It seems the nexus is down at the moment, but I recommend you look up the S.T.E.P. (Skyrim Total Enhancement Project) guide there and download it. It's got a long list of mods that improve the looks of your game. Of course you can just choose which you want and leave the rest, but it goes for a realistic look and saves time digging through the whole nexus.

In fact, WATER has incompatibilities and pure waters does almost the same job with less problems.
If you're looking for mods, I've written a Skyrim mod guide

No greaves I know of. The legs are now hardcoded as being part of the armor/torso. Only boots and shoes in this game so far...

There are none, Which is why every single guard in Skyrim complains about taking an arrow to the knee.

Well, since there's nothing about this on the Wikis, Google turns up nothing, and people on Yahoo answers and abroad seem to be incapable of understanding and answering simple questions, I must ask the other Dawnguard players here: are you able to begin the Dawnguard questline if you have already contracted Sanguinare Vampiris and become a vampire?

Yes. You may have to cure yourself first of vampirism (see 7).

^7 is not quite right, in my experience.

****Dawnguard Spoilers Warning****

If you've already become a vampire, then you start the Dawnguard questline the same way you would normally. When you first encounter Harkon he'll give you the option to upgrade and become a Vampire Lord on the spot. If you turn Harkon down and try to continue on the Dawnguard path as a "just regular type" vampire, then you'll be able to get as far as recruiting two new members to the order before you are discovered by Isran. He will then demand that you cure yourself and you can't progress the questline any further until you do so.

Good news then!
As a vampire, I remember reading in the forums that you don't get the new eyes if you're already a "normal" vampire.
If you "upgrade" as an already vampire character, do you get vanilla vampire eyes or new Dawnguard yellow eyes?

Zounds! That is one long list! I am guessing that you may have more hours invested than myself!

I believe it was the authors own warnings in Pure Waters that prevented me from trying it, as well as no information or screenies on foam, boil, waves, etc. I am not into the whole make it clear crowd, as there are many explanations IG for pollutants, but do want to see more realistic rapids and falls..

But it is also this business of Load Lists, and I see no way at the Workshop to control this.

Thanks for the tips; will try and get through that over time.

As far as I can tell, her eyes were automatically changed to the new and improved Dawnguard glowy yellow as soon as I loaded up her old save file for the first time. Becoming a vampire lord didn't alter her appearance.

I was under the impression that once you install Dawnguard then every vampire in the game automatically gets the new yellow/red eye's including NPC's who already were vampires.

Here are a few photos I snapped last night, for your viewing enjoyment. Please excuse the quality - they were taken from my tv.

Here is Ahdaira in Shrouded gear. Notice this particular hood lets her ears peek through. Aww. But it can't be improved via smithing.

Image IPB

Yet another dragon landing in Windhelm. This was a Frost dragon. But it's dead now, and no NPC casualties.

Image IPB

Just a very pretty sky.

Image IPB

And if you have any interest in seeing Illia in her smallclothes... This is what happens when you give her an enchanted circlet, not realizing that her hood and robe are all one piece...and apparently not as good as the circlet. She didn't equip it when I gave it to her, but when we walked into Meridia's temple, I looked over to see this.

I'm traveling with Kharjo now (kitty party!). Erandur or Aranea is next. I keep getting distracted.

Yep. They all get them right off the bat, whether it's a new game or load. As long as the DG add-on is installed, they will show up immediately.

What's that armour you're wearing Happy Daiz? I can't recall seeing it before.

That is a very pretty sky, Skyrim and Oblivion have some of the best sky boxes I've ever seen in a game. It massively adds to the atmosphere. Emerging from a long hard dungeon crawl where you faced death at every turn into a crisp night with a bright yellow aurora borealis lighting up the land is amazing.

So can they sue Bethesda for an unsafe working environment?

LOL. You should see Hern and Hert with their new eyes - it never occurred to me just how much of an evil bastard Hern looks like until he got his new eyes. Seriously, he's got "serial killer" written all over him now. O_O

Also, thank you so much for answering my question about Dawnguard, wicked - I scoured Google looking for the answer, but nothing came up and those few pages where someone asked the same question only resulted in incompetent fools with poor reading comprehension giving the wrong information. Sadly, that seems all too common with Google these days.

(That is not a jab at you, Purple Lady - you at least gave me relevant information) :)
