What's that armour you're wearing Happy Daiz? I can't recall seeing it before.

That is a very pretty sky, Skyrim and Oblivion have some of the best sky boxes I've ever seen in a game. It massively adds to the atmosphere. Emerging from a long hard dungeon crawl where you faced death at every turn into a crisp night with a bright yellow aurora borealis lighting up the land is amazing.

That's Dark Brotherhood standard shrouded armor. I'm a little embarassed to say that my husband has been urging me to have my character wear it, because he thinks her bum looks good in it. /facepalm The hood was one I picked up in the sanctuary, in the pile with the DB mage gear.

I told him last night that as soon as I get my Thieves Guild Guildmaster armor, I'm ditching the shrouded. The last thing before I went to bed last night? Well, I had my Guildmaster ceremony. Woo! If only my larceny targets would stay put in my bookshelves. Hmmpf.

The situation you describe, of leaving a dungeon, and walking out to a sky like that is exactly what happened. I believe I had just gotten out of Illinalta's Deep when I saw that. Skies in Skyrim are just so.dang.epic.

LOL. You should see Hern and Hert with their new eyes - it never occurred to me just how much of an evil bastard Hern looks like until he got his new eyes. Seriously, he's got "serial killer" written all over him now. O_O

Agreed! In my first DG playthrough, I did the DB contract to kill him, and just happened to have Serana with me. She brought a dead rabbit back to life, and the three of us took out both vamps handily. A rabbit.

On a side note, how the DLC adds new gear to be made in the Black Smith Menu, if you go to the Skyforge there are even more. Mostly special stuff, like Ancient Nord Armor, but its listed under Deadric, also you can take those old useless Acient Nord weapons, smith em with steel and leather straps and get nord hero weapons.

^ Oohh someone married a furry. :P

DB armour explains why I have never seen it, yet to do that quest but its on my list right after I finish my second playthrough of The Witcher 2 and finish the Skyrim civil war quest. It seems there's a long queue just waiting for my sword in their face.

I've always been confused about if there's some logic to the Aurora Borealis or if its random. I've never been able to pin it down, some nights it's there at like 9pm and others it's there at like 3am. It's almost like a screen saver at times, I find a safe spot and stand watching it. I'd love that on my tv actually, Skyrim sky screensaver.

Weren't they already in before DG? I may be imagining it but I think the nord hero stuff turned up after a quest I did ages ago.

^ You're right. You were always able to do that Ancient Nord armor -> Nord Hero armor thing at the Skyforge. Image IPB

You haven't joined the Dark Brotherhood? Really? It's one of the best questlines in the vanilla game! I'd definitely vote to make that a priority.

I know what you mean with the skies. I've noticed that most every night, I get an awesome sky like that if I'm near Markarth. Have you noticed how quickly the sky can change from aurora borealis, to regular sky, then back? You can actually watch it disappear and reappear. So cool.

^ I've been saving it until last for some reason, I don't want to rush through the game. But its definately next after TW2 and civil war. If anything it will hopefully end my days of piling the roads high with dead Khajiit assassins.

Yeah, the change can be very abrupt it's like:

*Aurora Borealis appears*
"Ooohh lights...pretty."
*Normal sky resumes*
"Damn it, on we go. Stop your lollygagging, Jordis!"
*Aurora Borealis reappears*
"Ooohh lights...pretty."

I seem to get the AB mostly around Whiterun or Morthal.

The Clear Skies shout when used at night can cause the Northern Lights(Aurora Borealis) to appear at will.

I frequently use it for this reason.

Has anyone ever got the orange/yellow Aurora Borealis at the College of Winterhold? Seriously, i have only seen it at Riften, and Solitude.

*pics or it didn't happen* :D

One may also get the DB armor by elimination; an option for those not wanting to play assassins.

And it may only be me, but I see a lot more beautiful vistas after using Clear Skies, esp when in snow country. This single Shout helps make Winterhold exploration so much more enjoyable.

I swear Bethesda is just as secretive as North Korea regarding that elusive Dawnguard PC and PS3 announcement.

I love Clear Skies. Instant Auroras and I can clear up a storm or cloudy sky instantly if I desire.

And if you have any interest in seeing Illia in her smallclothes... This is what happens when you give her an enchanted circlet, not realizing that her hood and robe are all one piece...and apparently not as good as the circlet. She didn't equip it when I gave it to her, but when we walked into Meridia's temple, I looked over to see this.

So nobody looked at the photo I included of nearly-nekked Illia? Really? You guys are so much more mature than me. Image IPB

This would have been my Dragonborn's reaction...

^ I looked. Her face scared the hell out of me lol. So figured it was best to concentrate on armour and pretty sky lights.

I figured it was lighting when comparing it to this image.

Lydia, Sylgja and Muiri are probably the best looking women in the game IMO.

Then you got my point. It scared the hell out of me, too. Image IPB I immediately took that circlet away from her.

And the lighting was admittedly poor. It's kinda dark inside Meridia's temple, with the black haze and all.

Congradulations, Guildmaster!

I notice objects in a room sometimes 'jump' out of place if you load a save where you are entering a room. That could be the problem. As for the larceny targets, I had problems manually putting the Left Eye of the Falmer Eye on the shelf (because it didn't register when I originally picked it up). It took a couple of tries (where it was hovering in the air in different places), but eventually it stayed put.

Has anyone seen "Why You Don't Play Tag With The Dragonborn" yet?

Hahahahah "tag"

Personally I just find it amusing how children act so bratty in Skyrim.
Yes, yes just antagonize the person who knows about 100 different ways to end a life.

Smart move.

Thanks! When I get home tonight, the first thing I'm going to do is get my armor from Tonilia, then improve it, then wreak havoc. I can't wait.

So far, my Dragonborn is only Arch Mage and Guildmaster. I haven't even done my first set of DB contracts, and I'm running around in their armor. Makes no sense, aside from the cute butt business.

As for kids in Skyrim...The only kid that's been cool so far has been the Sybil you rescue for the Agent of Dibella quest. The rest are little twerps. Although I do feel kinda bad for that Battleborn kid. He's just so pathetic.

Although I do find  some real irony with him.  His name is LARS.  Every Lars I've ever known has been a badass.  Leave it to Bethesda to  buck the trend and create a wimpy Lars.  lol
