But it is also this business of Load Lists, and I see no way at the Workshop to control this.

No, you need third party programs to manage load order.  Nexus Mod Manager and/or Wrye Bash.  I'm not an expert in their use for this so won't bother giving advice.  I mostly just fumble around, and uninstall things that I suspect are causing problems.

The little lass in Solitude that lost her Uncle to the Headman's axe is sweet and polite. Stop and tell her about Dragons sometime. And the daughter of the owner of the Winking Skeever; while a little too outgoing is also precious!

As for Followers, until I aquire the Mods that allow for riding horses and clearing doorways, think I shall remain solo.

As for Load Order, the link Purple Lady provided has some detailed info on working with the Nexus, so one day I may give them a try if the Workshop method causes any headaches.

Back once again with crazy stories of high adventure.

I was playing my female Nord archer (also DB and Companion member) a while ago and got one of the companion quests to rescue an NPC from a dungeon. It led me on quite an adventure, as the priestess from Solitude (can't remember her name but she's always banging on about the Divines saved her from the streets and they can save you from your trials too) was kidnapped by Falmer and taken to Tolvald's Cave all the way across the map in the Rift. After rescuing the hapless holy-person, she decided the best way for us to get her to safety was for her to suicidally charge every sabrecat which was no where near us, lots of fun. Then we ran into some guy calling me a milk-drinker so I put three arrows in his chest and took his stuff, tough luck Redguard Fenris, those epic mutton-chops can't save you this time.

Shortly after that, we spied upon the road, Talsgar the Wanderer beset by a wolf and a bear. Apparently they had teamed up to murder our favourite bard out of jealousy of his singing voice. During the fight, as Talsgar heroically ran towards us so he could show us his fighting skills close at hand, Lydia shot him in the chest with an arrow, while my Nord archer, Sindri Njoror, killed the bear and wolf. Talsgar was surprisingly calm about the whole affair.

Image IPB
Talsgar takes an arrow to the lung like a boss and he'll still take a deep breath and sing about it!

Also, in unrelated news one of the more recent patches seems to have solved the bug/glitch I was having with the Dark Brotherhood questline (the one where you kill the Fake!Emperor was hanging for me) so I've been able to continue playing my Argonian DB member, Walks-In-Shade, and he has finally reached High Hrothgar at level 41, despite a problematic attack by an Elder Dragon.

Image IPB
Sorry for the poor lighting, it's very difficult to get him to show up for screen shots, he's like a ninja or something.

If you're only using the Steam Workshop (as far as I know) load order is managed simply in order of subscription, which can be double checked at the game main menu load screen. If you want a specific load order, simply unsubscribe to all mods and resubscribe in the order you wan't things loaded.  It's easy to manage 3 or 4, it's a first class beeotch to manage 30 if you're having problems or want to change ordering.  There's no way to change Steam mod ordering except through subscribe/unsubscribe sequencing, as far as I know ((outside of using a third party program)).

EDIT: Clarity

I use BOSS to manage my load order, some mods need to be ahead of others to load correctly or if they have conflicts with each other.

I keep wishing for a TESEdit program to come along for Skyrim. Maybe I can hack the Oblivion one to default to Skyrim instead...

I also don't take followers along because the AI is pretty awful. Much rather have a wife at home running a shop.

It looks like patch 1.7 has to go live first.

Not that I am happy with that news, but what a lot of angry comments on that article. F*** Bethesda, will never buy from them again.. I mean, I am anxious for Danwguard too, but reactions like that sounds very childish to me. I'm sure Bethesda is doing their best. They're not doing this to bully their custumers, I'd think.

The good news is that for PC 1.7 is in beta on Steam, so it must be coming soon.

I didn't see anything in that tweet about Dawnguard, it's talking about the 1.7 patch. Patches have been released very slowly for PS3- something about the certification process taking a long time because Sony won't release their code.

I won't be surprised if it's weeks before we saw Dawnguard, but that article seems to me to be jumping guns a bit and for sure the raging kiddies in the comments need to chill out. All that BS about Bethesda having a responsibility to release DLC... Image IPB

After all the bugs we've seen on the 360 version, I don't blame Bethesda for not rushing it. You guys will probably (hopefully) get a cleaner release than we did.

But despite the weird bugs, I'm excited for it to be out on all platforms, so we can all talk about it!

I would prefer bugs to this intolerable waiting.
And Silence.

It is possible to do everything in Skyrim it seems.

I prefer code bugs to be fixed; we can fix most data bugs. Druss told me though he enjoyed Dawnguard on his 360, it was rather buggy. I'm hoping for a more polished release for PC (myself) and PS3 (my brother), to go along with patch 1.7 for the main game. I don't have a character ready for Dawnguard yet, so no hurry here.

We won't get a cleaner release, that's a given, because more can go wrong with the PC version. There are more work-arounds, though.

I agree it's the silence that I don't like, and which seems out of character for Bethsoft, which makes me think it's Microsoft's doing. I also hope they don't make the PC players wait until the PS3 is ready, which seems to be the red-headed stepchild.

If they were fixing bugs before the PC and PS3 releases then alot of people might complain that xbox owner's effectively paid to beta test it for everyone else. Which would be a hilarious use of Microsofts exclusivity money.

I really don't get the whole exlusive DLC period anyway, when deciding which system to get the game for is it really something you even consider? It would be way way down the list of things I'd even think about when considering which system to buy for.

The silence on the whole thing is just bizarre.

Allegedly its because they used Microsoft tech/software for the creation kit.
So to get free mods out, they had to deal with the debul as Addai said.

Microsoft doesn't like doing anything for free it seems, seen especially with Valve games where Xbox users have to pay for updates that were free on PC. The silence on Dawnguard is unbearable.

Yes, it does feel bizarre, because it's like they're doing the opposite of what devs usually do which is promote whatever their latest release is.  Instead it's "shhh, DLC, what DLC?"  Also splits the fanbase.

Stupid Microsoft.  Such a futile ploy to sell their dumb console, instead of investing in original content like Sony does.

Well, having taken a break from my Nord to play New Vegas again, I decided to pick up the reins, after about a month off, and move his story along.  My mods were a mess, so I actually had to take a couple of days to sort them all out, go through de-activation and re-activation to find compatibility for some stuff I wanted to add, stash and re-stash my stuff to keep it safe, then re-sort all the gear I've collected thus far.  Finally, last night I was able to pick up the main questline again...

..and was pleasantly surprised that the most BA character in the game was waiting to speak with my Dovahkiin:

On the way up, I was treated to some of the most gorgeous scenery I'd yet experience on the Throat:

...and before heading down, I stood on top of the world for a brief moment, just to remind myself how big this goddam place actually was!

My Kajiit finished clearing Fellglow from mages and vampires, but with a different twist this time. When I passed the dead bodies of my slain brethren, I started removing the robes from the corpses of their tormentors, revealing their pink skin to the carrion and any remaining witnesses.

If one messes with the Khajiit, they flirt with Death.

You know I really think my first mod is going to be tweaking horse combat.

Literally your shield is just useless, no magic, no shouts, and that annoying pushing where a horse can push a dragon about.
Might take a while but hopefully as a feature I can start tweaking it.

If we have to wait for PS3 to get Dawnguard then I don't see it coming out before late fall.

PS3 still hasn't gotten Patch 1.06!  They're  *months* behind.

You know I bet Microsoft has gotten no new sales on the 360 for this.

I have not seen a SINGLE person who bought a 360 to get dawnguard.
So all it did was just ****** people off and make Bethesda realize they should not do this for TES 6.

Added to it the 360 wont get mods either.
So hurray for ****ing greedy mega-corps that would rather LOSE money then actually do something nice for its customers.
