It helps a lot if the merchant is also a trainer. Like Grelka in Riften. You can fill her pockets with gold paying for Light Armor training and then take it back selling loot to her. She's like the perfect merchant, because she'll buy everything. And Light Armor is actually a bit difficult to train by playing... and painful too.

Most other merchant-trainers have some limitations (like mages will only buy magical items/books, alchemists pots and ingridients, smiths will only buy armor/weapons... but who needs smithing training anyway :)  )

Oh well, then I guess I won't be doing that, besides I don't like getting that far into the main quest until my character is completely leveled and I don't make my money off of Alchemy because almost no one except for the Thieves' Guild (I don't join them ever since my characters don't like selling their soul to certain Daedra like Nocturnal) has about 5000 gold and I almost never put points into speech and besides that doesn't give vendors enough money either. I prefer making my money from smithing and enchanting, not quite as expensive but it isn't cheap either, that is unless someone has a better idea to make money.

There is a two part quest involving the White Phial from the alchemy shop in Windhelm that looks sorta sweet. The reward looks fairly decent on paper, and the initial questing area is quite enjoyable.

And it would appear to be a good thing if the merchant were also a spouse, for profit shares. Certainly is no reason to expect romance, so might as well save a few coins in the bargain.

Most merchants are amiable enough - only Grelka, Belethor, Elgrim, that damn elf who runs The White Phial, and those damn elves who run Radiant Raiment have terrible business manners. Lisbet is also a homicidal cannibal in secret, but at least she tries to be a nice person - it's more than what those [jerkfaces] I listed above can say for themselves.

...you know, I just realized what a colossal failure you'd have to be to be declared less well-mannered than a homicidal maniac. It should give those merchants pause to know customers might prefer doing business with a psycho than with them.

I shot Nazeem dead.
With an arrow right through the back of his skull.

It made me happy.

Anyone else having trouble on Steam with the Subscribe button in the Skyrim Workshop?

I settled for stripping him naked by pickpocketing his clothes off him in front of the entire city. Sadly, his clothes respawn.

31.  And that's after I went through a massive sweep after picking  the game up again recently.  I've seen players with far, far more than that.

Steam's running good for me, but the Workshop isn't.

Don't know if anyone's posted about this yet (I've been playing a different vampire game, lol) but Todd Howard is speaking at QuakeCon which starts this Thursday. So they will probably make their Dawnguard announcement there.

LOL Speaking of Killing.... Sometimes the radiant quest system cracks me up. Dark Brotherhood. Once you finish its main quest line the Night mother gives you random contracts.... and it never ends. Tonight she gave me a contract to kill Ysolda. I think I'll be turning that down, since Ysolda is my WIFE.
