Downloading, hell yeah. Gonna have some fun tomorrow, now I've just got to decide which of my 13 characters will go through it first. Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun! I'm a hell of a lot more excited about this being released today than any other DLC-related news.

Anyway I got started on it. Enjoying my new Dragonbone Bow and killing vampires so far.

Only saw a small part of The Caste ™, but it was already pretty freaky. I suspect it gets much worse deeper inside.

Edit: I feel for you Giggles. I downloaded it in 5 minutes or so. If it makes you feel any better, my connection is pretty expensive and not fast enough to justify the price.

You may be doing yourself a dis-service by not using 3rd person for some combat. While Archery is certainly well done for 1st person, I find it often more difficult to measure proper distance to the target for melee. In addition,  3rd person appears to look so much better; less rigid and repetitious for the camera view..

I don't really like the 3rd person camera, it still feels a bit awkward and too close for my tastes. It wouldn't help much anyway, I'm wearing Krosis until I can do dual enchanting on a hood that suits my needs.

3rd person camera is about  about 10x better in Skyrim than it was in Oblivion.  (and did Morrowind even have 3rd person?  Don't remember)  3rd person in those games makes you hurl.  God awful.

Still, I mostly find myself playing in 1st person about 75% of the time in Skyrim.  I find myself only using 3rd person in melee.  Everything else (looting, archery, magic) gets 1st person for me.  Although often time I find myseklf switching back and forth when I'm just walking around.

Aaah....  Download complete!  Time to go into hiding again!

Morrowind did have 3rd person, but yeah like I said, 1st person was always how these games were designed. Most old TES people will tell you there's no other way to play.

Dawnguard looks great so far. Serana has the same VA as Christine/ Vera from F:NV Dead Money. Recognized her right away.

I love crossbows. This Enhanced Dwarven Crossbow hits slightly harder than a Dragonbone Bow. It also sounds pretty damn cool!
