I always do that.
Play the crap out of something then get so bored I cant touch it again.
I played Origins through around 30 times, and I cant even look at it without getting bored.

They really need to have Paarthurnax feature in a DLC.
I mean it would be missing from people who killed him...but **** em.
Anyone who killed Paarthurnax deserves to be spat on.
Even if you kill him, Arngeir won't let you forget what a great person Paarthurnax was, and beats you down (verbally) for siding with Akaviri barbarians. Even in death, Paarthurnax is awesome.
@Addai, interesting theory about Saadia. Given the uncertainty over Whiterun in the civil war, I can see it as a possibility.

Modding has been breathing new life into each of these for me. There are so many great mods, I'm spending almost as much time browsing the Workshop and Nexus, and thinking through the possibilites of specific mods, as I am playing. I still really haven't gotten full bore back into Skyrim yet, since NV currently has a lock on my current attention, but it'll come soon, I'm sure.

Redguards are awesome. I never realized how much so until I made one specifically for Dawnguard. I believe she was right around level 30 when I started the DLC. Just fantastic.Addai67 wrote...
And again- where are they going to hole up in a wartorn country where they're not particularly welcome and which is crawling with Thalmor?
All this is making me want to play a redguard.Except I'm kind of sick of Skyrim again.
But I'm with you there. I started playing New Vegas again a couple of days ago, and am engrossed in that (again). I keep starting over for some reason, and my main point is to finish it up, so I can finally start the DLC! And I just downloaded Fallout 3 for XBox. I had beat it on PS3, but it was way too buggy to endure again on that platform.
Don't rush Dawnguard! There is a lot to see and do, and you can miss some really cool things if you don't slow down, and take time to pluck the butterfly wings!Addai67 wrote...
Just take a break. It'll be fun again when you come back to it fresh. I'm going to play quickly through Dawnguard and then move on myself.
Whoa, you are in my head.Barbarossa2010 wrote...
Well, not having been able to rely on BW for any semblance of replayability lately, my solution to game boredom has been to bounce around between Skyrim, New Vegas and Fallout 3. With the exception of ME3 (hardly any time sunk there), these three have been keeping my attention since November. Getting tired of Skyrim? go finish that FO3 playthrough then reroll another character if you're still engrossed. Tired of that?...move on to NV, and add on Requiem for the Capital Wasteland to travel back and forth between the Mojave and the DC Capitol; or go back to Skyrim and see what mods have been added during your absence..
I also throw Saints Row the Third into that mix. It's nice to have something you can pop in and out of, without having to remember exactly where you left off.

One of my friends just told me that Skyrim's ending WAS HORRIBLE compared to Mass Effect 3.

Can you imagine if they had the same ending?
Alduin: No I am really the good guy! Believe me! Now you have three choices:
-Kill all the humans to kill all the dragons!
-Merge with Dragons to take us over!
-Or turn everyone into half dragons so we can all sing kumbaya!
Seriously, Alduin may not have been the coolest villain ever, but at least you got to curb stomp him.
Also you could SEE the ending coming, and Bethesda did not remove a final boss fight for it being to video gameish.
Anywho I am going to find those last two books in the Vale, and Auriel's shield.
Tootles!

Alduin seems more a necessary evil as the World Eater, but he corrupted his purpose forcing the the cycle and enslaving humans, not what Akatosh had envisioned and created him for. So it's up to the dragon born to stop him. Not quite the evil villain trying to destroy the world for giggles, it's what he was made for, I think, but he grew beyond control. I like that difference.

Rage is a decent alternative to the Fallout games if you've not played it. I got it months ago for £6 and just started it a few days ago after suffering Skyrim burnout, not in the mood for TW2 and Ghost Recon sucking balls. It's been a pleasant surprise and has got me in the mood for F:NV so I'll probably start a new game of that once I'm finished Rage. It's not perfect, I've found aiming slightly awkward at times and the story hasn't got going yet at all. But it's fun and has a great post apocalypse atmosphere with some nods to Fallout.

The vampires attacking you after the Bloodstone Chalice quest is usually because you attacked the two vampires before they were technically "hostile". I made that mistake myself, in my first VL run. You have to wait for their entire dialogue to finish before you attack them, or it's perceived by the rest of the court that you were openly hostile to them as a whole. Trust me, I know the pain of a reload. In my case, I had overwritten my earlier saves, and the only one I had left from before that was from 5 hours prior.Suprez30 wrote...

The Moth priest thrall thing is weird for me, too. I do know that Vampire's Seduction can only be used once every 24 hours, so if you misfire the first time, you actually have to wait 24 hours. In my first try, the poor guy crawled around for 3 days before I got it right. When casting it (for me), it apparently aims high and to the left of my pointer, so the only way I could get it to work was to have the cursor at his feet.
Both were annoying, but I think the Thieves Guild quest bugs from DG are worse...well, except for the part where you get to keep collecting on finished Special jobs, over and over.

I loved RAGE's gameplay. Dune buggies and stunt jumps, ftw. RAGE was an excellent example of "living" cities, before Skyrim came along. I didn't get super far into the story, but the racing and gunning was fun. I didn't enjoy having to play as a guy, though.Druss99 wrote...

She gets one conversation when she first comes back from having been cured.
As for benefits, nothing big, but you can cast healing spells on her. And if you like to use the new sun spells, the Dawnguard Rune Axe, Dawnbreaker, etc. then you can do so without worry of friendly fire.

Yeah, Wellspring feels as alive as anywhere in Skyrim in it's own way, The Dead City was very impressive too and was giving me a survival horror vibe at times. The dune buggies rock, I wasn't really expecting them to play as big a part as they do. I'm not too sure there's any story to get super far into to be honest, I'm about 8 or 9 hours in and so far it's just been a series of reasons to go somewhere and kill everything there, the atmosphere holds it together brilliantly though.
The lack of customisation was rather surprising, normally it doesn't bother me but seeing him in the buggy I was asking why am I this guy? Who the hell is he? So far he is just something people talk at, I can't see why they didn't give options there.
It's a good vacation from Skyrim anyway until my burnout subsides. It's more of a fantasy burnout than a Skyrim one.

I'm too bored with it to go slowly, so it's either play it through fast or not at all. It's what I do when I'm too tired or freaked out to play VtMB, which otherwise has me pretty engrossed.happy_daiz wrote...

Rage sounds fun- dune buggies?! For some reason I like anything that lets me jump. Was always the best part about the otherwise insane Mako. The most fun I've had in Skyrim lately is using Slowfall (from the Ancient Spells mod) to jump off precipices.

*SPOILERS*
Moths being needed to read Elder Scrolls?! Really?! Talk about an Epic letdown after the Main quest version. It ain't all bad; like the priest losing sight for not being properly prepared, but when he explained the whole bug hunt thing, I was - and am - so disappointed. I simply want to look at the gadgets received from Septimus, shake my head, and Gibb's slap this guy.

On a side note, I really underestimated the usefulness of ___flesh spells - Oakflesh has proven to be a lifesaver in the early game, effectively cutting damage in half and allowing me to actually take hits and raise my Light Armor skill more frequently. Magic once again proves to be a boon.

If you haven't already, I recommend doing the Aetherium questline from DG (Lost to the Ages). You get the "Investigate Arkngthamz" quest from reading any of the gazillion "The Aetherium Wars" books sprinkled across Skyrim, and in Fort Dawnguard. It's a nice change of pace.Addai67 wrote...

Rage certainly was a lot of fun. I have the Anarchy Edition, that came with the Crimson Elite armor, fists of rage, double barrel shotgun, and the Rat Rod (buggy). I was just telling Druss that I got as far as acquiring the Monarch vehicle before some other game came out and distracted me.
I bet you could probably get it cheap, now.

I'd take a break and play through it later, there is alot of area's that need to be explored thouroughly.
Here's a sidequest in Rage involving a time trial you can do for cash. It's basically just speeding to post boxes in an alotted time, you can also just head out and drive about the wasteland. It shows off the buggy driving atleast...
