^ Nice! Which enchantments did you get for it? Mine has fire damage and frost damage, just like my daedric swords. Too bad I can't see how strong each enchantment is, however.

If it doesn't shoot rainbows and friendships, its useless.

My quest was an instance of Hide and Seek rather than of A Jarl's Justice, so there were no orders involved.

Ah okay, you said Visiting Advisor, which is the Jarl one. I think with Hide & Seek you either have to do a speech check...or become Thane of the town in question (or restablish Thieves guild there) and pull rank when the Guards object.

Unless you can frenzy him with spell or poison into taking the first shot. Or your Werewolf option. Image IPB

Twice now I've had that advisor with Hide and Seek, and he's by far the most annoying. I can't convince him to come with me so I can ditch his corpse in a godsforsaken place somewhere because he has no dialogue options whatsoever.

No it shoots custom tooled dwarven bolts that explode in either frost, fire, or shock.
With a paralyzing and life draining enchantment on them.

They also do double damage to ponies.

I wonder if that's a bug? I thought Hide & Seek is only supposed to have a Travelling Pilgrim/merchant/bard. Visiting advisor is for the Jarl one and doesnt need dialogue options for that quest. So if its substituting him on H&S I understand your frustration.

My preferred way of dealing with the Visiting Advisor now is to cast Muffle and Invisibility, find a secluded place, fire a dual-cast Thunderbolt at him so he becomes hostile and then let the guards kill him and hope no innocent NPCs get caught in the crossfire. I can't kill him myself because that would count as murder.

So far, that has worked out pretty well.

In either scenario, I sneak, shoot an exploding bolt, steal a sweetroll, and be on my merry way. Happiness abounds.

Have any of you gotten the Rune Hammer yet? It's the same one Isran carries. I got it in my first playthrough, but never did figure out how to use it properly. Image IPB

So anyway .. Anyone think it`s a bit stupid even in the world of skyrim it`s make no sense that you can become everything and ve everything and have discovered everything there`s to be discovered in skyrim under 3 month timeperiod % (game time) .. Not only that but it`s become  so stupid and for me that broke the immersion.

For instance my character.. Let`s call him Bra... Can become the grandmaster of the mage order ... The thane of every city .. A vampire lord ... a Werewolf Lord ... The GM of the Dark brotherhood ... The gm of the guild thieves and a nightgales .. Okay .. Not over ...  The Gm of the companions .. 2-3 Dragon that i can call .. Champions of Skyrim .. Killer of the emperor ...  Bard Master . I can be a super thief while weilding heavy armor .. I`m master at every type of weapons and shield .. i am the champion of every Daedric Lorc and savior of the world.

I also discovere every dungeons of skyrim .. in the space of 3 month .. Which most were not discovered for thousand of years.. ME?  Walk in the park for my god hood .. yet not one ever notice it .. You think that the Gm of the thieve guild would know that I am also the grandmaster Mage and a powerful vampire lord.

Anyway..

The openness of a game can make it quite ridiculous when you think about it. Also all those regular ppl walking around skyrim .. How can they survive?& I have horde of troll attack me each 50 meter and always a dragon roaming around the corner.

All of this .. In 3 Month game time .. 3 frigging month. The dovakihn is a god among god.

Fush PWN DA!! The make no sense roar.

Well then simply role play a character a certain way and don't do some of the guild or quest lines. It's what many of these ladies and gents have done. I, unfortunately, don't have the time to make multiple playthroughs so I make one maybe two characters and do everything so I can play the whole game and see everything Bethesda has to offer.

In many cases I'll make an alternative save on the same character and use it to make an new decision tree.  The completionist streak may be more due to my  somewhat obssessive, compulsive personality.

In this stage of the game, the Rune Hammer is quite useless to me. It could have come in handy at lower levels however against those horrifying snowy sabre cats.

In case you still don't know how it works: block with the hammer, point at the ground somewhere close to you and press the attack button. Pretty fire rune for you, not-so-pretty burning for your enemies.

Its not so funny when they run over your run without stopping.

Magic does not scale on the console.

So...that was kind of clever actually.

I saw some Vigilants...they called me over and POW vampires.
Idiots.

I got to test my new anti-undead spells at least.
HA!

This isn't a problem for any  true Role player.

A true role player sets his own restrictions, and doesn't need the game to spoon-feed him  'rules' and arbitrary limitations, like some overprotective parent.  For example, When I'm role playing a viking warrior, I'm not going to join the college of Winterhold to become the Arch mage.  Because that would be silly, and out of character.

But even aside from that.... you mentioned being able to explore everything in 3 months in-game.  I don't see how that's impossible.  Skyrim's landmass is 16 miles.  Are you saying you can't explore  everything in  a 16 mile radius in 3 months?   I certainly can, if I'm roleplaying an explorer.

You broke your own immersion, playing this game like a corridor action game.

^When I saw my first Chaurus hunter, I was shocked., and it didn't help that they made them more deadly. Their posion will kill you in 4 seconds if you're not protected from poison or have healing potions ready..

Wait til you find out that one of their attacks involves shooting eggs into your hair and clothes, which hatch next time you sleep somewhere...or I could be totally lying and trying to creep you out...

Good thing I'm a vampire then, their poison never affects me. The perks of playing as a vampire :)

FLEE FLEE FOR YOUR LIVES! I wiped out half a roman legion (post Marian reforms)

Also I finally did all the Falmer books, and the Dwemer really are jerks. I hope if they do try to come back I can shove him back from whence they came.

This is a video game, not a table top or LARP game. The developers job is to put in place restrictions and challenges for the players...so they basically act as the GM. What we have in Skyrim would the equivalent of GM that can't control the game and the players are allowed to run amok, doing anything and everything. That and the GM is lazy because just about everything is randomized. You can't fault the player when there is little to work with and no obstacles to challenge or stop a players actions. TRUE RP...since you like to use that term is actually collaborative storytelling...an element that is half missing in Skyrim because the story part of the game is actually pretty shallow. That and there is little to no interaction with other characters usually...beyond go fetch this or go here and kill everything. Skyrim is mostly just sandbox hack'n'slash/dungeon crawler...which there is nothing wrong with, if you're into that sort of thing.

You're right. There's no such thing as Role Playing in a video game lol

PS:  Oh and not all of us suffer from ADD.  Some of us, for example, can easily maintain a strict, set  role from beginning to end without, as you say,  "running amok".

Of course, who am I kidding.  I'm speaking to the Choir here.  You did, after all,  buy Skyrim and enjoy it so much that you decided to purchase the $20 DLC for it.
